Damon gently kissed her, but before she clung to him and things turned heated from all the emotions running high, he pulled away and started to lower to the ground, bringing her with him. As she sat on the large blanket, adjusting her skirt, Damon began to pour the red wine into large wine glasses, handing her the other one. He lay on his side, elbow against the blanket, hand keeping his head up.

They clinked their glasses together, smiling as Aila's eyes roamed their surroundings again. She took a sip, and her eyes fell on her mate again. "This is so beautiful. Thank you. Is this a special occasion?"

Damon smirked into his wine glass, eyes locking with hers. "Does this require a special occasion? I wanted to treat you." He sipped from his wine and continued in his low, sexy voice. "I wanted us to get away from the chaos and to focus only on us."
