"You are.... um... um... the person I saw when I was going home in my first year!"

Albus was surprised that Charlus had remembered their small encounter.

"Thank you so much for taking me to the infirmary."

Albus nodded and then pointed to the empty seat next to him.

"Take a seat."

Charlus did as told and Albus continued.

"It was no problem for me to take you to the infirmary, but a question still bugs me. Why were you there? Did someone stun you and put you there? The school has a no-bullying policy and I will personally make sure they stop."

Charlus just smiled and then said, "It's no that. I was the one who went there. I was just angry and then I don't know why but I passed out there."

Albus laughed.

'"You are in your 4th year. What would you be angry about?"

"Myself," Charlus whispered. "I can't do magic. I tried ever since I got my wand but I wasn't able to do a single thing. Maybe I should just go to the muggle world and do something there."

Albus shook his head. He stood up and held his hand to Charlus.

"Since you came all the way here, let me show you my club."

Charlus didn't have anything else to do, so he got up and took ALbus' hands. Together, they went into the club.

"What do you think squibs in France do Charlus?"

"I don't know. I think they all do non-magical jobs like tending to the horses and bartending."

"There are three things that a squib can do. They can choose to leave the magical world. People who want to succeed big time and no longer want to be teased by their magical cousins and friends choose this option. People who don't want to leave the magical world have two options. They can take non-magical jobs as you said. Caretaking, attending shops, teaching horse riding - you know our horse riding instructor is a squib right?"

Charlus nodded.

"And finally, the third option. Not many people know about this, but squibs possess a small amount of magic in them. Not large enough to cast spells, but they possess magic. This means that they can do magical activities that otherwise would be affected by even the smallest amounts of magic. Activities like potions, herb tending, tending magical creatures and finally alchemy."

While listening to Albus, Charlus was also looking at the club. The club wasn't huge. It didn't need to be. There was the main hall, and there were different rooms that the main hall lead to. There was a statue in the centre of the room. Most of them were rooms to perform alchemy, but there was one room that was used for administration purposes.

"Squibs can perform alchemy? I thought only people who can do transfiguration can do it."

"Yes! Transfiguration is very different from alchemy. In alchemy, we are trying to permanently change the essence of the object itself. You can call it transmutation. You use magical ingredients to do it, so you don't need magic yourself. In fact, the less magic you have, the less likely your magic will react to the ongoing transmutation. It has amazing prospects, especially in the commercial field. If we can make cheap lead into gold, think about what we can do."

Charlus was deep in thought.

"Can I join this club?"

Charlus asked Albus.

Albus smiled and nodded.

"You can. However, to get materials you have to pass tests. We can't simply give out materials. If you read the specific books necessary to perform alchemy, you can receive points and then use these points to exchange for materials. You can register at the administration desk and then get the books for your first alchemy. I think it's aluminum into magnesium."

Charlus was excited. He had already read all the books in the library so he had a very good understanding of what Albus had been saying. He was getting excited because he knew of at least 4 other transmutations.

Meanwhile, Charlus' friends were looking everywhere for him.

"Why not look for him in the infirmary? Maybe we will find him there."

They went to the infirmary and asked the medi-witch.

"The boy who was here? He left a few minutes back. Maybe half an hour ago. I think he went to the club area. The half-blood's club."

Once they found where he could be, they rushed to the clubs. Once they got there, they entered the True Alchemy club and found Charlus talking to Albus in the centre of the hall.

Henri went towards Charlus and pushed him so hard that Charlus fell onto the ground.

"What the hell man? Where were you? We thought something happened! What were we doing?"

Albus stopped Henri from going forward. All the others were also angry that Charlus hadn't told them anything.

"Why aren't you saying anything? What the hell are you even looking at?"

Charlus was staring past Henri directly at the statue behind him. He pointed towards the statue and asked with a shaky voice.

"That man, who is he?"

Henri looked back and then laughed.

"Come on man! You're at an alchemy club. That's the greatest alchemist of all time - Nicholas Flamel! Even I know who he is."

"I... I know him."
