Capítulo 354: Chapter 354 : Miracle

Orion's heart felt heavy as he held the infant close, watching the tiny child's face twisted with pain. He had tried everything to help, but nothing had worked. The baby was drawing in more and more magic, and his fragile body simply couldn't handle it. Orion knew he was running out of time and options, but one terrifying solution remained: he would have to destroy the child's magical core. It was a desperate measure, but it was the only way to stop the child from absorbing magic uncontrollably.

So, he did the exact thing to the little guy what he suffered himself when he was small, made himself half Squib. That was the only option to save him.

It was a delicate process, something he had only say will work in theory, but he had no other choice. Slowly, he sent a precise pulse of energy to disrupt the core, carefully unraveling the ties that allowed the child to draw in magic.

As the connection weakened, he felt the pull of magic around them start to fade. The dangerous storm of energy surrounding the baby began to settle, and the child's tiny body relaxed in his arms.

Orion felt a glimmer of relief, but it was short-lived. The baby had already taken in too much damage; his breathing was still weak, his skin pale. Orion's heart sank as he realized the child wasn't recovering. Desperately, he tried everything he could think of to heal the baby, using every healing spell and technique he knew, but nothing seemed to make a difference. The infant's breaths grew shallower and slower, and Orion's sense of dread grew with each passing moment.

"No… please, no," Orion murmured, his voice breaking as he cradled the child closer. He was helpless, watching the little life he had just tried so hard to save begin to fade. He felt despair settle over him, an overwhelming feeling of loss and failure. He had tried everything, given everything he could to save the baby, but it hadn't been enough.

Finally, he watched in horror as the child's tiny chest rose and fell one last time. The soft breathing stopped, and a stillness settled over the room. Orion felt the weight of that silence, his own breathing uneven as he realized the heartbreaking truth—the child was gone.

He slumped down, grief washing over him. All his power, all his knowledge, and yet he hadn't been able to save a new born.

'Is this what he meant by the child was destine to die early,…? Orion gritted his teeth and hold his magic back from slashing out. His emotions were almost a the tip of lashing out and so was his magic which was boiling right now. But he calm himself, supressing his magic was necessary or bad things could happen, he already have seen this happening and he wasn't having it again.

He just remain there, himself not sure what he was thinking, the only thing right now running in his mind was to stay there and do nothing.

It wasn't even anger anymore, he was feeling practically nothing at this point. Nothing beside despair and defeat.

He held the baby close, feeling the emptiness, the weight of his own helplessness. In that moment, Orion was alone with his sorrow, holding onto the child he couldn't save, his heart heavy with loss.

Orion sat on the floor, cradling the child's still body, grief pressing down on him like a weight. He couldn't believe it—after all his efforts, he had lost the infant. His vision blurred with tears as he whispered an apology, feeling completely defeated.

"All this power for what...." He wanted shout, complain, show his anger but he just stay there without doing anything.

Then, suddenly, a strange glow caught his eye. Startled, he looked down to see his pendant emitting a soft, golden light. At the same time, the pendant the baby was wearing began to glow as well. The two pendants pulsed with light, synchronizing in a way that made Orion's heart skip. The glow grew brighter, enveloping them both, until it was almost blinding.

A strange sensation swept through him. It was as if something were tugging on his very soul, drawing magic from deep within him in a way he had never felt before.

It was strange, borderline scary how he wanted to use his magic but nothing was in his control, this was his first time when he felt this, his magic not being under his control.

It was the first time when he felt this helpless and powerless after coming back from Fate World.

This was very strange sensation. And though for some reason this was a state of weakness for him, he didn't felt uncomfortable for some reason.

His own magic began to surge and shift, reacting to this mysterious pull, as though his energy were merging with the pendant's light. The feeling was powerful yet comforting, almost as if the two of them were bound by something ancient and profound.

And just as quickly as it started, the light faded. Orion blinked, disoriented, and looked down, his heart pounding. The pendant's glow had vanished, leaving a soft warmth lingering on his skin.

Then, a sound pierced the silence—a loud, strong cry. Orion's eyes widened in disbelief as he looked down at the baby in his arms. The once-still child had come to life, his tiny fists clenched, his face scrunched up in a full-throated wail. This was way too louder than even when earlier the child was suffering from excessive magic disorder.

'But… how ?'

Orion could hardly believe it, his heart racing with shock and joy. The child's skin was no longer pale, and his breathing was steady and strong.

A wave of relief flooded over Orion, and a shaky smile broke out on his face. He held the baby close, his heart swelling with gratitude and awe. Whatever mysterious power had just intervened, it had saved the child's life. Orion didn't understand what had happened, but he felt in that moment that he had witnessed something miraculous, something beyond his knowledge or power.

With a deep breath, Orion wiped his eyes, his sorrow replaced by a newfound hope. The child was alive, and that was all that mattered.
