He dreaded this day. Father had prepared him for this moment but decided to leave Alric out of the picture to not interfere with the sequence of events. Even Eros only knew roughly what was going to happen.
"How cruel," He mumbled to himself. Yet the two were used to Gabriel's unempathetic decisions. Everything had to benefit the greater good. The only one who ever had been permitted to question the archangel was their late mother, Alice.
The night air was slightly frigid. Clouds of condensation danced with every exhale as Eros stood before the endlessly tall Gabriel Corporation building. It was late at night, and all the lights were out. The only faint light source came from the adjacent street lamp.
Eros activated his Executioner's blade and stared at the flickering sword. As the weapon continued to make subtle noises, he wondered what the final form would look like. Would he ever get to see it?
