Capítulo 3: Taking Down JASON

"I already hate this..."

Haoyu couldn't help but frown heavily as he casually ran through the field of bodies and blood, he really wasn't a fan of such gruesome scenes. Just looking at the way these corpses died, especially those belonging to the CCG, was enough to show how brutal this world really was.

He had arrived here in the Tokyo Ghoul world not too long ago, and since he wanted to get this mission done quickly, he had immediately begun making his way to where Jason was. Considering he was teleported to the 11th ward, he had a good idea just where the psycho was right now.

During his entire time here, he could constantly hear the battle between the CCG and Aogiri Tree out in the front area of the complex. However, that was not his concern, his mission was to track down and eliminate Jason.

"Hm?"

As Haoyu was running, his eyes narrowed when he saw what looked to be two blue long constructs weaving back side to side through the foundations of the bridge he was on. They were moving at rapid speeds and were heading straight towards him.

Soon enough, both constructs simultaneously flew at him with incredible force. However, just as they were about to make contact, Haoyu calmly raised his open parasol up, blocking the strike from both objects, causing sparks to fly as the constructs struggled to push forward.

Eventually, they seemed to give up before retreating back the way they came. Lowering his parasol, Haoyu looked up to see two individuals walking toward him from the other end of the bridge, both wearing long purple robes with masks covering their faces underneath their hoods.

The masks weren't identical though, and although they shared the same shape and colouration, the geometrical patterns painted onto their individual masks differed. In any case, they both obviously weren't here to have a good chat.

"This one's a pretty tough human."

"Is he even a part of the CCG?" One of the two seemed to have doubt laced in his tone as his head seemed to glance up and down at Haoyu. "He certainly isn't dressed the part, looks like a cosplayer more than anything."

"Cosplaying at a time like this? Whatever the case, let's take care of him quickly."

Haoyu immediately knew who these two were, a pair of S-Class ghouls known as the Bin Brothers, otherwise known as the Tail Brothers according to the CCG. Mainly due to the fact that they both possessed bikaku kagunes.

In regard to their relationship with Aogiri Tree, if his memory serves, then they should both be executives within the organization. Even so, they shouldn't prove a problem for him, in fact, he wasn't sure if anyone in this world would be able to beat him.

He wasn't too knowledgeable about this series, so anything much later on in the series was all but unknown to him. For all he knew, maybe they introduced planet-destroying ghouls or some shit, some animes do tend to suddenly bump up their power levels.

As Haoyu was busy with those thoughts, the brothers all charged at him together before they began raining down countless strikes using their two kagunes. Haoyu blocked any of their strikes before knocking them both back with a swing of his parasol.

"You have impressive synchronicity with one another, but that won't do you any good against me." Haoyu stated calmly before bending forward slightly. With a burst of unbelievable speed, he appeared in front of one of the brothers. "Good night."

With a single thrust, Haoyu's parasol pierced straight through the ghoul's mask right through his skull and out the back. With a swipe, the ghoul's body was thrown off the parasol and against one of the beams holding the bridge together.

"I have places to be, so I'll have to cut our duel here off short."

"Wh-What are you...?" The remaining brother seemed panicked when he saw his fellow ghoul lifeless against the edge of the bridge. "That parasol isn't a quinque, so how the hell... Damnit, this isn't over ye-!"

Before the ghoul could finish its words, he was silenced when a large gaping hole suddenly appeared on his body. It was a clean circular hole that completely devoured his chest area down to his stomach and up to just above his nose.

His arms had also lost any form of connection to the body, so they naturally too fell to the ground along with the rest of his body parts. With a bit of delay, a large pool of blood soon formed underneath the remaining body parts of the ghoul.

Haoyu had already begun walking away before the corpse had even begun to fall, his face slightly stained with their blood as his parasol had a good amount of blood coating it from the tip down to around halfway.

If he recalled correctly, Amon who should be currently fighting with Touka at this very moment might appear here soon enough. Just as this thought passed through his head, Haoyu heard the sound of clashing as he turned his gaze to see the two in question rushing over from who knows where.

They seemed to be rather preoccupied with each other, so Haoyu didn't bother to stay and quickly turned back before walking further into the complex. He had to admit, he felt a bit guilty, he kind of took Amon's moment to shine there against the Bin Brothers.

"Too bad. In any case, time to get Jason."

As Haoyu was making his way through the complex here within the 11th ward, a certain brutal scene was currently being played out as none other than Jason himself could be seen gripping the black hair strands of a young boy no older than eighteen or so. Said male was currently restrained onto a chair using thick metal chains.

In front of these two were a pair of individuals, one male and the other female. Both of them were struggling aggressively on the ground as they both appeared to be trying to break free from the chains that they were currently tied in.

"Which one, Kaneki? Which one do you want to save?!"

"Why...? Why do I have to choose?"

Kaneki, the male with black hair, could only stutter continuously between his sobs as countless tears ran down his face. Despite the extreme amounts of struggling, Jason's grip didn't lessen even the slightest bit, in fact, it just got stronger.

"Come on... choose already!" Jason seemed to be slightly impatient as he tanked Kaneki's head back a few times, along with clenching the fist he had the latter's hair in. "Hurry up and pick on, or I'll just kill them both!"

"N-No...! It would be like I'm the one doing the killing, wouldn't it?!"

"Pick one! Man or woman?! Left or right?!" Jason's expression became far more twisted as his patience was being truly tested right now. He honestly hadn't expected Kaneki to persist for this long, it was both amusing and infuriating at the same time. "Then I guess I'll..."

Jason didn't finish what he was saying, instead going silent as the audible sound of footsteps could be heard echoing through the room. Everyone seemed to notice them as not only Jason, but the other three had also gone silent.

Releasing his grip was Kaneki's hair, Jason's eyes narrowed as he looked over toward the pair of blood-red doors that led into the room. As each second passed, the sound of the footsteps got louder and louder.

Soon enough, those footsteps momentarily stopped before the doors slowly but surely opened up. When they did, all of them watched as a young male walked into the room carrying a parasol that he had opened up above his head.

"Who are you?" Jason's voice was eerily calm when he asked this. "You from the CCG?"

"Not really, just call me Haoyu." The male calmly introduced himself before glancing at the three near Jason. Haoyu's eyes narrowed slightly in disgust, not at the three people, but at their current situation. "Jason, correct? I think you've had enough playtime."

"Oh~?" Jason snorted in amusement as he looked at Haoyu as if he were looking at nothing more than an insect. No matter how Jason looked at Haoyu, all he could see Haoyu as was a new toy for him to play with later after he was finished here. "Why is that?"

"Because... It's my turn to play."

With a blast of speed, Haoyu charged forward as Jason could only widen his eyes before he found himself sent flying back across the room and crashing into the wall. The collision was strong enough that a large hole was formed after his body collided.

"Wh-Who... are you?"

Haoyu looked down at the tied-up Kaneki after hearing the male mutter those words. In his eyes, Haoyu could see the look of both hope as well as fear in the boy's eyes. Hope obviously since he thought that Haoyu might be here to save them, and fear that he might be dead wrong.

"Don't worry, it'll all be over soon. You three just hang around for a bit, I'll deal with Jason first."

Before any of them could reply, Haoyu had already begun calmly walking toward where Jason had been sent flying. Since he had some time after being hit, Jason managed to stumble back onto his feet with a thin line of blood running down from the corner of his mouth.

"Not bad, not bad at all for a human!" Jason seemed both surprised and gleeful as he looked at Haoyu with a newly formed sadistic look on his face. "You'll certainly be a fantastic toy for me to crush! I simply cannot wait!"

"You talk too much."

Haoyu responded in a dull tone as he appeared in front of Jason in a flash, the psychotic ghoul only having managed to glance down slightly before an indescribable pain suddenly appeared on his stomach. Haoyu had delivered a swift and casual punch to Jason's abdomen, causing the ghoul's back to arch heavily.

The force behind Haoyu's punch was very clear, the shockwave it produced could be felt in the form of a gust of wind that blew through the area. Jason's pupils shrunk and shook violently as blood practically came gushing out from his mouth.

Just as Jason was about to be sent flying back, Haoyu quickly delivered an uppercut to his jaw, resulting in an audible crack as Jason was sent flying up into the air and crashing down onto the ground a few meters away from where he previously was.

"You're even weaker than I initially thought." Haoyu scoffed lightly as he watched as Jason struggled to get up from the cracked floor he was lying on. "You should be glad I'm not sadistic like you, otherwise I'd make this 'fight' last longer. Count yourself lucky."

"Th-This isn't over...! I'm going to make you squirm!"

Haoyu just watched as Jason yelled this as his shaking body slowly got up from the ground, his wounds slowly but surely healing. Along with that, he could see Jason's kagune forming behind him, though it seemed to already be going through extreme changes.

Its original red, purple, and blue colouration shifted to that of a palette consisting mainly of a deep red colour with a hint of purple shading on its frame. On top of just changing colour, its mass began to increase rapidly as its seemingly began to crawl and cover both Jason's right arm as well as the top half of his head.

"Sorry, this isn't an anime anymore. I'm not just going to stand and let you transform, even if it's futile. Your hexagrammatic position flows violently in the water trigrams, danger is imminent and and you're stranded in the abyss. You are trapped and will be swallowed."

Immediately after saying this, Haoyu rushed forwards with speed far surpassing anything he's shown previously. The ground cracked and formed a trail of miniature destruction where Haoyu ran, appearing in front of Jason with his parasol already held back like a lance ready to strike.

Before Jason could even finish forming his kakuja, Haoyu had thrusted his parasol forward, though the tip of it seemed to stop just an inch in front of Jason's face. Silence lasted for only a split second before something miraculous happened, which caused the three spectators behind Haoyu to widen their eyes in disbelief.

Jason's head had been completely pierced into oblivion as only small fragments of brain matter and his skull could be seen having been thrown up into the air above his now decapitated body. This wasn't the main shocker though, it was what happened behind Jason's body.

The sheer force from having simply thrusted his parasol forth like a lance was enough to form a massive gaping hole into the wall behind Jason. Looking at the hole, it looked to be around at least six or so meters in diameter with a clean and precise circular shape. With there being a hole now, the night sky could be seen along with the surrounding buildings of the complex.

Quickly opening up his parasol, Haoyu held it above his head as Jason's decapitated corpse began spraying out blood like a fountain. The blood flew into the air before raining down on the ground around him, and of course onto his parasol.

'Disgusting...' Haoyu frowned a bit as he watched the blood run down and onto the ground from his parasol. He was glad that his parasol wasn't made from an absorbent material, otherwise cleaning it would be an even bigger pain. 'He definitely ain't coming back.'

Looking down at the lifeless corpse that was lying on the ground, Haoyu had no doubt that Jason was truly dead here. While Jason was certainly a powerful ghoul, his regeneration was not at all effective enough to simply regrow a head.

Jason was no Noro.

Walking away from the corpse and back to where the three spectators were still tied up, Haoyu casually ripped the ropes binding the female and male duo. The two of them immediately gave a sigh of absolute relief after their movements became unrestricted.

"Hurry and get out of here, don't want anything else happening, do we?"

"R-Right...!"

"Thank you...!"

They quickly gave their thanks before heading off and toward the... exit that Haoyu had ended up creating. After watching them leave, Haoyu looked down at Kaneki before easily crushing the chains that binded the half-ghoul.

"Th-Thank you..."

"No problem." Haoyu gave a small shrug as Kaneki slowly but surely got up from the seat. The boy gave a number of words of gratitude before starting to go toward where the previous two had gone. "Before you go, It's probably important I tell you this."

Kaneki was confused as he looked back at Haoyu. "Uh, yes...?"

"You're a half-ghoul, right? You were a normal human before turning into a ghoul." Haoyu stated as Kaneki seemed to widen his eyes slightly at this. There were very few people who knew this about him, after all. "I suggest you come to terms with your situation, things have happened and you have to accept it."

"Wh-What do you...?"

"You're a ghoul, there's no changing that. The faster you accept this, the better off you'll be in the future. By holding onto a lost hope, you're only digging yourself a deeper grave." Haoyu stated this bluntly as he walked past Kaneki, the male simply listening as he turned to watch Haoyu. "You want to protect your friends from Anteiku, right? If so, accept who you are and get stronger."

"Wait, how do you know-?"

"That doesn't matter." Haoyu interrupted without hesitation. "If you want to protect them, then you have to understand that you ARE a ghoul. Don't try to keep denying it. Whether or not you choose to take my words to heart is entirely up to you."

Haoyu knew that his actions today may have severely affected whatever future events that were supposed to happen, after all, this scene with Jason was supposed to be Kaneki's wake up to reality where he finally accepts who and what he is.

Maybe his actions would bring Kaneki a better future, but there was also the possibility that Kaneki may eventually suffer even more. Whatever the case will be, his actions have already been set in stone. There is no changing things now.

"Which path you choose to take, make sure you choose the right one."

Saying nothing else, Haoyu seemingly vanished out of thin air, though the small burst of wind suggested that he had run out of the room faster than Kaneki could see. Kaneki didn't seem to move after hearing Haoyu's words, instead a complicated look appeared on his face.

"Accepting what I am and making the right choice..."
