Chapter 1298
Chloe Collins consented to the matter.
She had someone bring midnight snacks and ate with Liam Locke.
The comfortable atmosphere allowed Liam to relax, and he spoke a few more words.
He would comment on the taste of the food, even though it would only be one or two words.
"Dean Collins, can I go home with you tomorrow?" she brought it up.
Liam's face fell, and he suddenly became silent.
"I don't like it there; I don't want to go back," he said.
Chloe looked at him, her voice very soft: "Could you tell me why?"
Liam tightened his grip on the chopsticks and fell silent.
After about seven seconds, he stammered, "There's a demon there."
Demon.
She had heard those words in his mumble before.
This demon could very well be the root cause of his inner demons.
With previous experience, Chloe didn't directly question further, but chose a more indirect method, slowly coaxing him to speak his mind–she fetched paper and a pen, saying she wanted to draw with him.
