20% His Dangerous MATE / Chapter 26: Chapter 26

Capítulo 26: Chapter 26

Aurora returned home and parked her bike at the usual spot before she pushed it under the small bush close by. When she was sure she had managed to hide it very well, she started contemplating on how to make her way back into her room without getting noticed.

She was lucky she didn't find anyone on patrol or standing outside.

She had no idea how to explain how she miraculously walked.

Aurora made her way towards the entrance, she wasn't entirely sure if it was okay for her to walk straight in or not. She paused and pulled closer to the door, to listen for any sound that indicated people guarding there, but there wasn't.

She made to pull the knobs open but she hesitated when she heard people chanting a prayer she knew not well.

"As we watch," a man had started the prayer and then the others continued it.

"As we watch and bid the souls lost Farewell, we pray they seek eternal rest."

Aurora frowned. There didn't seem to be any casualties or bodies around so she knew they weren't burying anyone. She tried to snif the air if she could smell corpse or any injury.

Her nose picked at a fresh wound behind her.

Aurora turned swiftly admist panic. A hand pressed down to her lips with hopes to stop aurora from shouting out of shock and thereabouts.

It was her maid. Aurora sighed in relief.

Aurora stared at her oddly.

'But why didn't she feel her scent when she came up close?' she wondered. She had gotten so used to having it around her all the time.' Did the little trip somehow managed to erased it?' she wondered to herself.

Serene placed her index finger on her lips, before taking hold of Aurora's hand to lead her somewhere away from where they currently stood.

When they reached the garden, Serene let go of her and gave her a deep hug.

"Where have you been, Aurora??? I was so scared." She says before breaking the hug.

"We've lost a lot of our soldiers to them aurora. So many of the soldiers that left with the chief have been murdered. Leaving both children and wives, fatherless and widows."

Her words ranked deeply into her, she had witnessed the abomination happen and she had taken part of it. But one thing she wasn't quite sure of was why she never saw blood on Daniel. He must have been the one behind the killings. But she never caught a blood stain on him. Well, not after he came down from that tree to feed on the people she killed.

'Could the killings, have been carried out by someone else?' she wonders to herself.

She turned to look at Serene and then raised a question. "Was that why they were saying the sacred prayer?"

Serene face suddenly turned sour. "That man! I've always known he was out to get chief and you out at all cost." she started saying already fuming. Aurora squinted her eyes in interest.

"He told everyone he saw the wolf took you. And then chief went after you mobilizing everyone he can just to get you back, abandoning us all. Can you believe that?"

Aurora felt the question didn't deserve an answer so she didn't respond.

"And the prayers are being said to put your souls at ease."

Aurora didn't really see the fault in what he did. She knew he must have said that as a cover story on why and how she left.

She sighed. Already feeling like a burden.

If they see her back here it would make him look look like a liar.

"He saw me," Aurora disclosed "he saw me and the offered me the opportunity I've always wanted-" Aurora looks at serene. "To go far away from here… From this drama and never come back." I exhaled before taking a seat on the bench.

"I couldn't just do it. It didn't feel right. So I came back with a decision that I'll go about everything formerly, with everyone informed."

Serene comes to take a seat beside her.

"You know he would never let you go,"

Aurora stood up "well he can't stop me now. No one can. I dictate my life from now on."

Serene smiled. She loved the confidence Aurora exuded right now even though she knew it was delerous.

"Okay, then." serene comes to stand next to her again. "I'll support you in whatever thing you do. But first, let's find a way to sneak up to your room."

"The window." Aurora spoke. "Let's use the window"

"Okay."

Aurora and serene crept back to the quarters. They slowly made their way to Aurora's window where they both took turn in helping themselves get in.

She noticed some changes in her room. Her portrait that hung beautifully on the wall had been taken down, her dressing table had been moved aside her room was- disorganized.

She looked around again making sure she wasn't in the wrong room or wasn't daydreaming.

Serene had came in from the standing beside her, oblivious of what was going through Aurora's head.

"This was what I was-"

"Shhhhhh." aurora placed her index finger in her lips indicating serene to keep quiet, she had heard something, someone actually. Serene obeyed looking on.

Aurora moved forward, she was hearing talking, sounded more like a whisper. She wasn't able to get the words they were saying.

"Do you hear that?"

"Hear what?"

Aurora stepped on further, the word were beginning to come to light but it was her uncle.

"Hide!"

"Hide but why??"

"Just do what I say serene "

"I've been here all this while if anyone was to hide it's you! "

Just then she heard someone giving others, see could tell the orders were directed to the guards.

"And make sure you throw all her belonging in the dark room ." he sneered

"I still have good use for them. But I need the room more For my personal use"

'That was her uncle mashal and what were they talking about? Who's her?' Aurora wondered. The whole thing happening was driving her insane, it felt like she had returned to a different home entirely from the one she knew. 'What had happen? ' she couldn't help but question herself.

"Yes sir! " the guards answered bowing slowly .

" sir?? Yes sir???.. " uncle marshall gave a short laugh. "From this moment onwards.." uncle marshal sneered looking at them intently.

"Call me chief!"

'Chief?' just then Aurora remembered all what serene was bickering earlier, it was all starting to make sense to her.

The guards all chorus "yes chief!" and went back to duty. Two we're assigned to take out all of Aurora's belongings and thrown to the dark room.

The guards proceeded to Aurora's when they met her sitting right there her face void of emotions.

"Chief! Chief!!! She's here. She's here!!" one bellowed causing a stir in the hall.

"Shes alive!!" he called out again. There were loud nurmors circulating in the hall and downstairs as everyone started to wonder who the 'she' is.

"Imposible! "

"She's alive chief! She's here ."

The chief, uncle marshall made his way through the bodies that had suddenly rushed down to see forth with their own eyes.

And behold she was right there in front of him. Back on her wheelchair.

"Leave!" he ordered and everyone started rushing out. He turns back to look at Aurora before moving closer to her.

"Au-Aurora.. You're alive..i tho–i thought.." he stammered, his words failed him.

"Hello uncle."
