“Julio is not only our resident fashion expert, he is also our biggest braggart.” Richard didn’t crack a smile. Julio punched him in the arm.

“He hasn’t changed since we were kids, and you guys think I’mthe smartass.” Julio shot Richard a withering glance. “Once you’ve been mated and the pack sees the bite, it will be official, and Chernof won’t be able to do anything unless something happens to Henri, and you better believe that Henri and the other Alphas are going to make sure Chernof doesn’t survive the attempt.”

“Does anyone want the last cookie?” Ian grabbed it from the tray.

“Why ask if you’re going to take it before someone can answer you?” Sean snatched the cookie from Ian and handed it to Vitas.

“If—if I-Ian wants the cookie—” Vitas stuttered.

Sean stared at Ian. “Ian doesn’t need the cookie, you do.”

“Shouldn’t I be getting ready for Alpha Giraud?” Vitas got up from his chair and paced, pursing his lips.
