"Are you alright, boss?" Wouter asked calmly, his figure laid back. Beside him, Jade listened in on the conversation, taking notes on her computer for any subtle hints.

They were making progress, a lot more than they thought they could achieve. But as much as he wanted to be proud, Augustus' kiss had left a salty taste in his mouth.

He couldn't wait to wrestle him to the ground before dragging him to Erickson. But for now, he had to keep himself in check. 

"Hey, Avond, I'm talking to you, man!" Wouter demanded, turning his chair to face him. Avond shrugged. "I just don't like it," he answered cryptically. 

"You don't like what? That she's a natural so you don't have a reason to stop her? Or that she's willing to do anything to get what she wants?" Wouter demanded, lighting a cigarette.
