Capítulo 53: Showing Some Effort

Celeste woke up to the sound of knocking at the door.

Blinking her sleepiness away, Celeste dragged herself out of bed, still naked. She expected to find her future mother-in-law at the door as she slipped on her bathrobe, but instead, she was surprised to find Tiel, fully dressed in a grey suit.

"Good morning!" Tiel said.

Celeste tried slamming the door in his face, but something held it open—his shoes.

"I'm sorry I had to wake you, but this is usually when I go to work," Tiel said with an apologetic smile.

Celeste forced a smile as well, then gestured for him to wait.

"All right, I'll wait for you by the lounge," Tiel said, then moved his shoes out of the way.

Celeste closed the door gently but turned around in a bad mood.

She had slept late and was still tired. When Tiel said she should come to see where he worked, she didn't expect him to come so early. It was seven o'clock, and she was sure Tiel never went to work this early.
