Capítulo 1: Chapter 1 - A Sister’s Promise

Luna Lovegood stood in the middle of her room, surrounded by the organized chaos of half-packed trunks and scattered magical artifacts. The late afternoon sun filtered through the window, casting a warm glow on the room's peculiar assortment of oddities and curiosities. She glanced over at her sister Selene, who was meticulously folding her robes into a suitcase. It was a scene both familiar and foreign; the Lovegood sisters had packed together many times before, but this time was different. This time, Selene was leaving for somewhere far away.

"Why America, Selene?" Luna asked, tilting her head with her characteristic dreamy expression. "It's so far."

Selene paused, her blue eyes meeting Luna's with a mixture of affection and determination. "I need a fresh start, Luna. After everything we've been through... after the war... I think it would do me some good."

Luna nodded, her expression growing quieter. The wizarding war had indeed left scars, both physical and emotional, on both Lovegood sisters. Selene had fought valiantly as a member of the Order of the Phoenix, using her healing skills to mend the wounded and provide comfort to those in need. But she had also experienced firsthand the devastating toll it took on her own heart.

She walked over to Selene, her silver-blonde hair swaying gently with each step. She reached out and touched her sister's hand, her own pale blue eyes reflecting understanding and sadness. "But you're a Healer. You could stay here and work at Hogwarts. We could be closer."

Selene sighed and pulled Luna into a gentle embrace. "I know, Luna. But I need to heal too. Being here, where everything reminds me of the battle, the pain, the loss... it's too much. Celestina Cottage is a gift from grandmama. It's a chance to start anew, to find some peace."

Luna leaned her head against Selene's shoulder, feeling the comfort of her sister's presence. "I understand. You've always been more sensitive, more in tune with the world around you. That's what makes you such an amazing Healer. But I'll miss you so much. You're my sister and best friend."

Selene placed a tender kiss on Luna's forehead. "And you're mine. I'll miss you too, Luna. But this isn't goodbye forever. You'll come and stay with me during the holidays and summer. Celestina Cottage will be our home together whenever you need it."

Luna nodded, her heart aching but accepting the truth in Selene's words. "Promise me you'll write often. And sing me your riddles when we're apart. It's always been our way to stay connected."

"I promise," Selene said, smiling softly.

They stood there for a moment, absorbing the reality of their impending separation. The war had changed them both, leaving scars that time alone might not heal. But in this moment, with their arms around each other, they found solace in the bond they shared.

Luna knew her sister was resilient and immensely capable, despite her shyness. Selene was like a gentle river, flowing steadily and with purpose, even in the face of adversity.

With one last squeeze, Selene released Luna from the embrace. "Now, Luna, help me finish packing. We still have a few hours left before I leave for Forks. Let's make sure Celestina Cottage feels like home when you come to visit."

Luna nodded, feeling a renewed sense of hope and excitement.

As they continued packing, the room filled with the quiet hum of their shared memories and whispered reassurances. Luna knew her sister needed this new beginning, and she would support her, even from afar. Because that's what sisters did—they held each other up, no matter the distance between them.

The gentle hum of the airplane engines had long since faded, replaced by the smooth purr of the taxi cab's motor as it navigated the winding roads of Forks, Washington.

Raindrops tapped rhythmically against the windowpane, creating a soothing symphony that matched Selene Lovegood's introspective mood. She rested her head against the cool glass, her eyes absorbing the lush, green scenery that seemed to stretch endlessly around her.

The driver, a middle-aged man with a friendly smile and a twinkle in his eye, glanced at her in the rearview mirror. "So, where are you headed, miss?" he asked, his cheerful tone cutting through the quiet hum of the cab.

Selene straightened slightly, her silver blonde hair falling over her shoulder like a cascade of moonlight. "Celestina Cottage, by the River Inn," she replied softly, her British accent unmistakable.

The driver raised his eyebrows in surprise. "That's quite a long way from home, isn't it? What brings you to Forks? Vacation? Visiting someone?"

Selene offered a gentle smile, her heart-shaped face radiating a quiet warmth. "I'll be living here for a while," she said, her voice calm and patient. "My grandmother left me a house, and I thought it was time for a change of scenery."

The driver nodded, clearly intrigued. "Well, welcome to Forks then. You've chosen a beautiful, albeit rainy, place to settle down. There are some great spots to check out around here. Have you heard of La Push beach?"

Selene shook her head, her curiosity piqued. "No, I haven't. What's it like?"

"It's a stunning place," the driver enthused, his eyes lighting up with enthusiasm. "The beach is on the Quileute reservation, and it's got these amazing rock formations and driftwood. Great for a peaceful walk or just sitting and watching the waves. The Quileute people are really friendly, too. They've got a rich history and culture. You should definitely visit when you get the chance."

Selene listened intently, absorbing every detail. "It sounds wonderful," she said, her voice filled with genuine interest. "I love learning about new places and cultures. Thank you for the recommendation."

The driver beamed, clearly pleased with her attentiveness. "No problem at all. There's also Port Angeles, not too far from here. It's got some nice shops, restaurants, and even a few museums. A bit more lively than Forks, if you ever need a change of pace."

Selene nodded, making a mental note of the places he mentioned. "I appreciate the information. It's always good to know more about the area you're living in."

The driver chuckled. "Knowledge is power, right? You seem like the kind of person who values that."

Selene smiled softly, her thoughts drifting momentarily to her time at Hogwarts and the lessons she had learned there. "Yes, it is," she agreed. "And it's especially useful when you're in a new place."

As the taxi continued its journey, the driver pointed out various landmarks and points of interest, his cheerful chatter a comforting backdrop to Selene's thoughts.

After an hour and a half of winding through the dense forests and misty roads of Forks, the taxi finally pulled over beside a wooden sign and a mailbox that read 'Celestina Cottage 29, FORKS'. Selene's heart fluttered with anticipation as she stepped out of the muggle vehicle. The air was crisp and cool, carrying the earthy scent of pine and damp moss. She looked around, taking in the quiet beauty of her surroundings.

The driver, ever so helpful, retrieved her solitary luggage from the trunk and set it gently on the ground beside her. "Well, here we are," he said, pointing towards the cobblestone pathway that led into the woods. "Just follow this path down towards the first couple of trees. Once you pass them, you'll see your new home."

Selene nodded, her eyes shimmering with gratitude. "Thank you so much," she said, reaching into her purse and handing him the fare along with an extra tip. "You've been very kind."

The driver shook her hand warmly. "It's been a pleasure. And before I forget, be careful around here. There have been some sightings of large bears in the woods recently. Best to stay alert."

Selene's expression remained calm as she acknowledged the warning. "I'll keep that in mind. Thank you again."

With a final wave, the driver got back into his cab and drove away, leaving Selene standing alone by the sign. She took a deep breath, feeling the weight of the moment settle over her. This was it—her new beginning.

Grasping the handle of her trunk, she began to follow the cobblestone pathway. The stones were cool and slightly uneven beneath her feet, adding a touch of rustic charm to the journey. The trees on either side formed a natural archway, their leaves whispering secrets in the gentle breeze. As she passed through the tree barrier, the sight of Celestina Cottage emerged before her eyes.

The cottage was nothing short of enchanting. Its traditional Tudor-style architecture stood proudly amidst the greenery, with a steeply pitched roof covered in a soft layer of moss that seemed to glow in the diffused light. A stone chimney rose from one side, hinting at a cozy fireplace within.

The exterior showcased a half-timbered

design, the dark wooden beams creating a striking contrast against the light-colored walls.

Large windows framed with delicate wooden accents and a wooden door adorned with decorative glass panels invited her to imagine the warmth and comfort inside. A winding stone path led to the entrance. It was as if the cottage had sprung from the pages of a fairy tale, a place where magic and reality intertwined seamlessly.

Selene felt a sense of awe and peace wash over her as she stood there, taking in the beauty of her new home. She stepped forward, the sound of her footsteps mingling with the gentle rustle of leaves. Her heart swelled with a bittersweet mixture of memories and hopes for what lay ahead.

This was her sanctuary, a place to heal and rediscover herself.

With a deep breath, she reached out and touched the wooden door, feeling the cool, textured surface beneath her fingertips. She knew that within these walls, she would find solace and strength, just as her grandmother had intended.

"Welcome home, Selene," she whispered to herself, a small smile playing on her lips.
