Capítulo 5: Black Rabbit

Bang!

A black rabbit swung its huge ears towards a young man and his Contracted Monster, a Green Lizard. In an instant, the black rabbit turned them into pools of blood, leaving nothing else but blood when it left.

Soon after it left, it felt the same presence of the human and lizard at the same location for the fifth time. "??? I killed them time and time again, but they just keep coming back, are they immortal?" it wondered.

Even so, each time it killed them, it was as if some unknown force was making it leave the area before it could come back when the human and lizard pair came back. Rushing back, the black rabbit waved its ears again. This time, the human seemed to have learned and managed to reduce the damage slightly. Even so, it was enough to turn him into a meat paste, waiting for revival again.

The black rabbit was getting sick of it. The human kept reviving no matter how many times it killed him. Every time, it was forced to kill him, with no other way about it. Waving its large ears again, the human male was slowly getting used to the speed of its ears.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

A dozen deaths later, the human male managed to completely dodge its ears by timing it perfectly. Even so, the human couldn't dodge both of its ears.

Bang!

This time, the human male was prepared to dodge both ears. The black rabbit changed the trajectory in which it launched its ears, killing the human time and time again. By now, it was already the thirtieth time. It didn't seem like it would be ending anytime soon, causing the black rabbit to become frustrated.

"Just die already, what are you, a cockroach?!" it cursed him silently as it slapped him to death for the thirty-first time. On the thirty-second try, the human managed to learn all of its attack patterns. Unfortunately, the black rabbit attacked with its body afterward.

It was an endless cycle. The black rabbit would kill the human and lizard before they would shortly arrive again and improve their approach. "Should I just let him kill me? I feel like this will be worse than death." the black rabbit thought.

Even at the seventieth death of the human, it didn't stop slaughtering them. Finally, at the seventy-fifth attempt, did the human finally dodge all of its attacks and managed to grab a hold of it. Unfortunately, the rabbit was much heavier than the human thought, resulting in his death.

By now, the black rabbit was tired of it and was extremely close to just killing itself to end its suffering. In fact, it was glad that the human was improving and getting closer to killing it.

"Please hurry up and end my suffering." it thought.

Bang!

Finally, the human male lifted its entire body and slammed it headfirst into the ground with a German Suplex, killing it. "Thank you, for ending my suffering." the black rabbit thought as it felt peace and left the world.

"Whew, we finally managed to kill it." Ye Feng said, wiping his sweat. It took almost ninety lives before he managed to kill the black rabbit. When he first saw it, there was a cross-shaped patch of fur on its head. Even though it seemed dumb, it was most likely its weak spot, which made him think of the plan. Finally, after many deaths, did he finally achieve it.

After experiencing death so many times in a single night, Ye Feng was adapting to it. He no longer felt weird when he was revived, and the same could be said for the Grass Lizard.

Soon, Ye Feng's vision turned dark for a few moments, before harsh rays of sunlight blinded him through his blinds. "Ah, it's morning." he thought.

Looking around, he found that he had successfully passed through the night. In that final moment, he felt a rush of adrenaline, as every single muscle in his body was pushed to its limits, allowing him to use 100% of his strength. This was what allowed him to finally kill the black rabbit, sending him out of that world and back into reality.

Nearby, the Grass Lizard got closer to him as he rubbed its head. He then went to change and brush his teeth before heading downstairs for breakfast. At the dinner table, he enjoyed breakfast with his parents, while the Grass Lizard ate its breakfast, which was a Low-Grade Grass Jade.

Even though the word 'jade' was in the name, it was simply a kind of pill that grew in the natural habitats of Monsters and was cultivated by humans over time. It enjoyed the meal, before climbing up Ye Feng's shoulder.

The new school term would begin on Monday of the next week. Currently, it was only Thursday, so there were still a few days left before classes began. Inside his room, he spoke to the Grass Lizard.

"There's still some time left before classes begin, I think it's a good idea to begin some basic training even without any Training Methods. Working on your stamina is a good start, let's go jogging. I will run, and you will follow me from behind. I'll wait for you to catch up, but don't take too long or use all your energy at the beginning." he told it.

The Grass Lizard nodded. It was quite intelligent, understanding his words and keeping them in mind. Ye Feng changed again, as the Grass Lizard climbed onto his arm and sat on his shoulder.

Stepping outside the door, he started jogging until he reached the Jing City Pass Park. It was a large park where many people exercised every day of the week. There were always people there no matter what until it was night time when they left.

Only when he arrived, did the training of the Grass Lizard begin. It leaped off his shoulder, as Ye Feng started jogging slowly ahead of it. The Grass Lizard kept his words in mind as it started crawling quickly on all four legs, neither too quick nor too slow at a constant pace so that it wouldn't get tired too quickly.

While he was jogging, Ye Feng took a look at the interface and looked at his Map Points. His hard work and experience that he gained from dying dozens of times, nearing the three-digit number, only earned him a single Map Point. That's right, just one.

"So this is how it's going to be. Rather than making it easier for me, my Goldfinger is making me work even harder than the usual person. At least the benefits I gain will be worth it. But dying so many times just for a single point hurts…" he thought.

The thought of doing the same thing every single night caused him to shudder. Since the Grass Lizard was linked to him, it learned of this fact as well and became more determined to get stronger. It was born weaker than the others in the habitat. Since Ye Feng had chosen it out of all of them, it wanted to become stronger so that it could help him, while reducing the number of times they both died.

Its small black eyes were filled with determination to grow. It kept crawling at a constant pace while following behind Ye Feng. An hour later, Ye Feng stopped jogging and waited for the Grass Lizard to catch up. He had been running for an hour with it following him, but it managed to hang on until the end. The distance between them wasn't that far apart, only twenty or so meters.

Considering that this was their first day of training, it was doing very well. Once it caught up to him, it climbed up his shoulder, allowing him to rub its head. "Good job little guy, I see you kept my words in mind. That's good, like this, you will quickly improve in no time." he praised it.

After the jog, Ye Feng found a small stick and attached acorns on both sides. What was it for? Obviously, it was for the Grass Lizard to bench. With its small size, it may or may not be able to do it, and there was only one way for him to find out.

The Grass Lizard slid down his arm and lied on its back, allowing Ye Feng to place the 'barbell' he created on its chest. As he slowly let go, he moved back and allowed the Grass Lizard to have a go.

Relieving himself after seeing that it wasn't too heavy for it, he continued to stay back and counted the number of times it benched. Counting the number of times it benched, the Grass Lizard managed to do twenty in one go before it was tired. This wasn't bad and could be considered pretty good for its size.

Taking it off, he let it rest for a while before continuing. Once the sky became darker and the sun had set, the Grass Lizard sat on his shoulder as he jogged back home for the day. Taking a shower, he went downstairs for dinner along with his partner, preparing themselves for the second night.

******

Opening his eyes, Ye Feng found himself in a familiar place. The Grass Lizard was on his shoulder as well. A familiar meadow filled with nothing but grass, sunlight, and the blue sky could be seen around him.

Soon, he saw a large black rabbit heading in his direction. When it came closer, it saw Ye Feng and the Grass Lizard. "??? Why am I alive again?" it wondered as its body moved on its own towards them.

As it did, Ye Feng prepared himself to attack. He didn't know that it was the same black rabbit that he had faced off over ninety times the previous night. As he bent down and lowered his body, the black rabbit's attack patterns changed.

Instead of using its ears to fight in close combat, it dug up the ground around it and flung it towards Ye Feng.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Since it was still far away, Ye Feng had no problem avoiding the large piles of earth coming towards him. He figured that once there was nothing left to hurl, it would get closer and attack him directly. Unfortunately, the closer it got, the faster and more powerful the chunks of earth being thrown at him was.

Bang!

Even though it wasn't the black rabbit hitting him directly, two chunks of dirt were enough to blast him into pieces. He soon revived in the same spot, and found that the dirt around him had all been restored. "F*ck, you gotta be kidding me right?" he swore, as he started to avoid the dirt blocks being thrown at him.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

The more he avoided, the more he got used to the speed. Since the trajectory couldn't be changed, most of them were very linear and easy to dodge as long as he timed it right. Hopping around left, right, back, and forward, he moved about in many directions to avoid the dirt blocks. When he had thought that he dodged them all, he was met with a huge chunk right in the face, sending him into oblivion.

Once he was revived again, the process began to repeat itself until he managed to avoid everything. Even when he did, the black rabbit got close and clobbered him. As he continued to come back to life, Ye Feng eventually managed to get down low and use all the strength he could muster, performing his newest favorite move on the black rabbit, allowing him to leave the space and return to reality.

Inside his room, he opened his eyes and checked his status again. Just like the previous night, he gained a single Map Point for killing the black rabbit. Previously, he had died ninety or so times, now it had improved and was lowered to just above seventy times. If he continued at this rate, it would only be a few more nights before he died less than five times to the black rabbit before killing it.
