The greatest weakness of the Six Paths of Pain is that Nagato, as the main body, cannot stray too far from the puppets he controls. Additionally, his body lacks any real combat effectiveness. While the Rinnegan's inherent aura is enough to intimidate enemies below Kage-level with sheer killing intent—often leading to their mental breakdown—it becomes a liability against opponents of higher strength or those who are spiritual masters.
Consequently, Konan rarely leaves Nagato's side. Rather than being a "messenger of God," she acts more like his bodyguard. At this moment, Nagato was on the highest floor of the tower, and if he didn't receive assistance soon, he would plummet along with the collapsing structure.
"Thank you for guiding me, little angel," Tatsuya said with a slight smile, using Shunpo to leap into the air with a resounding boom as he landed. While catching up with Konan, he called down to Shisui below, "Go do what you must, but be careful."
The three-tomoe pattern in Shisui's Sharingan glimmered in his eyes. Although he lacked the refined techniques of Shunpo, he ascended the tower's walls much faster than his peers as he was shunshin no Shishui.
"I can feel it," Shisui thought, excitement coursing through him. "With the addition of the First Hokage's cells in my body, I can sense them in you too." His Sharingan locked onto another figure coming out of the tower.
At that moment, Obito leaped out from the top room of the split tower, squinting as he spotted Tatsuya pursuing Konan into the sky.
Endless hatred flickered in his eyes as he silently mused, "Why is he here?! Is his target Konan? No, it's likely Nagato!" Despite his disdain for Nagato, he knew that if anything happened to him, the Tsuki no Me Project would be utterly scrapped.
"You must stop him from reaching Nagato!" Obito communicated telepathically to Black Zetsu.
"Wood Style: Birth of Sea of Trees!"
As Shisui launched his attack, he unleashed his master's most powerful Wood Style technique—a weakened version of the Birth of the Tree World. Even in its weakened form, it carried the strength of A-level ninjutsu. The violent trees and vines surged forth, growing at an astonishing speed, transforming the steel structure into a canopy of greenery in a mere five or six seconds.
Shisui leaped to the top of the fracture, witnessing the masked man's body seemingly pass through the branches he had created.
"Just as Minato-san said, a strange time-space ninjutsu that lets him phase through solid objects..."
The three-tomoe Sharingan in Shisui's eyes flashed with fear, but it was overshadowed by anger and frustration. He shouted vehemently, "Why frame the Uchiha!?"
Few things could provoke his rage, and this was one of them: the unjust blame placed upon the Uchiha clan. Because of the Nine-Tails, the Uchiha were now seen as pariahs in Konoha, mere steps away from being "cross-street rats."
"The Uchiha clan doesn't matter; none of you matters! This pathetic world can crumble into chaos—be it the Uchiha, Konoha, or the entire Ninja World." Obito spread his hands and sneered.
Yet, he couldn't help but feel surprised at how far Shisui had developed his Wood Style. Obito had learned from Madara that Senju Hashirama's cells were an effective remedy for the side effects of Mangekyō Sharingan. Those who had transplanted Hashirama's cells rarely suffered from blindness due to overuse of Mangekyou.
If this boy before him had indeed awakened his Mangekyō and fused it perfectly with Hashirama's cells, it could spell trouble for him.
"Time to eliminate you," Obito thought, resolve hardening within him. He activated the pupil of his left eye, and a twisted black hole materialized in the center of his body, steadily pulling Shisui closer.
I'll use Kamui from the start!
"Um!?"
However, as soon as he activated Kamui, Obito sensed something was amiss. Just as the technique was about to tear Shisui apart, he saw that Shisui's skin rapidly transformed into wood, morphing him into a Wooden Golem.
"A Wood Style Clone?" Obito gasped, taken aback.
"Damn it, you idiot! If you hate this world so much, then why don't you just die?"
At that moment, another Shisui burst forth from the back, swiftly forming hand seals. However, his target was not the masked man, but rather the expansive forest surrounding him.
"Fire Style: Fire Dragon Jutsu!"
With a mighty roar, a dragon-shaped fireball erupted from Shisui's mouth and violently slammed into the forest below. In an instant, the entire iron tower, entwined with wooden vines, was engulfed in flames.
The residents of Rain Shinobi Village watched in shock and disbelief as the fire blazed through the tower, a symbol of their village's power.
"Who's attacking?!" one villager shouted, eyes wide with fear.
"The tower is on fire!" another cried, pointing towards the blazing structure.
"Someone put it out! Quickly, we need to extinguish the flames!" they shouted in a frenzy, panic rippling through the shinobi and civilians alike.
...
...
"It's not over yet! Wind Style: Whirlwind!"
Shisui, still in mid-air, quickly formed new hand seals, amplifying the flames with a burst of wind. The fire surrounding the iron tower flared up several times more fiercely than before.
As Shisui descended, he felt a wave of frustration wash over him. Despite the support of Hashirama's cells and the chakra he had used in his attacks, he was beginning to feel the strain.
"I can't just give up now. I have to catch that guy and bring him back for interrogation to prove Uchiha's innocence," he muttered to himself.
"Was that your strongest attack? If you want to kill me, you'll have to try harder," Obito's voice, tinged with malice, echoed ominously in Shisui's mind.
When Shisui turned, he found Obito standing almost directly behind him, extending a hand towards him.
"You're incredibly talented, and with Hashirama's cells integrated into your body, I can't afford to let a Uchiha like you live. You'll become a significant threat in the future," Obito stated, his hand hovering just a centimeter from Shisui's head.
"It's now or never."
Shisui's pupils suddenly contracted as he noticed a faint light glimmering around Obito. In the next instant, two metallic threads emerged, circling him and binding his body tightly.
"Uchiha Flow's Shadow Shuriken Technique!?" Obito exclaimed, taken aback.
"Have you focused too much on ninjutsu and forgotten about the Uchiha's Shuriken Technique? It seems that even though you hail from the Uchiha clan, you don't have their natural talent like Itachi," Shisui sneered. "I've also figured out another thing: your body becomes solid when you attempt to attack!"
"It's over! Wood Style: Forest Prison!"
