Hey people. I've not posted in a little while and during that time I had time to think.
I don't like my story. Not really. I've had many comments from many people. I like to read most comments and I try to take into account what has been said.
Far and away the biggest complaint about this story is Daphne. Many people don't like how I introduced her or their interactions so far. By far the single person who dislikes it the most is myself, however.
I read it a few times and I'm sitting here thinking what the hell have I written? I didn't change it before because I thought I'd take it as a learning experience and soldier on from there, trying to improve it as I went. Bad move. I should've gone with what my gut told me and changed it immediately.
Well, I'm going to change it now. I will be updating a lot of my chapters, cutting her out entirely and making changes to the story. Some chapters will be cut out entirely. It will take a little while, but hopefully not too long. It's a lot easier and less time-consuming to edit than it is to write new content. If this was done immediately, I could have changed it easily. Now there is so much content to change it's going to be annoying, but it's for the best in my mind.
So yeah, expect changes. I will delete this update chapter when I have finished reconfiguring my fanfic. Also, don't ask about the update schedule. There isn't one. It's in the description of the book. Hope you have a good day.
Update to the update: I still plan to have her as the female lead, but she will be introduced much later. She won't be cut out entirely. I like her character because she isn't in the books at all, barely a passing mention. That essentially means she's a blank slate for whatever the author wants to do, which is the reason I picked her.
I considered Hermione, Luna or a gender-bent Harry, but then I would have to write within their existing frameworks. This has already been done by much better authors than me, so I will use Daphne.
