Caitlyn stared toward the ground with superhuman eyes, searching for Lindy, whom she thought Leon had dropped.
"I'm right here," Lindy said annoyedly, "he's using his legs to hold on to you and just pretending because he's an ass… he's just admiring your ass."
Leon looked at her to check her expression, but when she sighed and spoke [rationally], he helped her out and looked at Caitlyn's ass.
It was a great excuse.
Caitlyn's eyes sparkled like clockwork.
"I'm glad you like it," She said with a blush, "I did squats daily because I know you're an ass guy."
Leon chuckled in amazement.
"Whoever says having a female stalker is horrifying… has never had an unrealistically smart and beautiful one," He mused while looking toward the sky.
Everyone was left flustered by his words for different reasons.
However, the sentiment was shockingly positive.
Lindy especially was nonplussed by how human Leon was. Wasn't he a sociopath?
Was it the strange power affecting their relationship? Did hormones produce normal sexual behavior? Or maybe, just maybe, was he not a sociopath at all?
She shook her head aggressively. Why couldn't she get him out of her head!?
Sure, he was very interesting. This power was a never ending wildcard, his relationship with Caitlyn was fascinating, and he saved her life regularly like it was a mundane chore.
And yeah, he was overpowered, shockingly smart out of the blue, and articulate. That was worth thinking about.
It was natural to look at him because his muscles were hypnotizing. He was always good-looking, but his personality sucked, and his new personality wasn't half bad.
His charm stat was on fire. I mean, come on, the guy's all over the place saving people and doing whatever he wants with pure confidence.
And the happiness! It's only natural to desire what he and Caitlyn had, the world was going to hell, and they were flirting! Who wouldn't want—
"Gahhhhhhhhhhh!" Lindy cried.
"Woah, are you okay?" Leon asked in confusion.
"Y-Yes. Everything's fine. Everything's just fine." She replied in a craze.
"Okay. Hey, Caitlyn. Bring us down over there." He requested, cutting off his question abruptly.
"That's it? No follow up or curiosity? Nothing?" Lindy whispered in disbelief, "Gahhhhhhhh!"
Leon ignored the crazy girl shaking her head randomly.
He imagined she was going through cognitive dissonance withdrawals and needed space to work things out. His consideration for other humans was skyrocketing!
Caitlyn looked at the satisfied look on Leon's face with a beaming smile.
Then she descended into the employee's lot of an Inexpensiveco.
"Ahhhhhh, finally! I thought I'd never stop—ow!" Lindy cried, "What gives, jerk!"
She landed on her butt when Leon dropped her five feet off the ground.
Leon blinked twice in confusion.
"Didn't you want to touch solid ground again?" He asked as Caitlyn brought him to the ground.
Lindy's face lit up with annoyance. "Yes. But you're not supposed to drop a girl who isn't ready!"
"Ahhhh… So that's how it works?" Leon asked.
"Hey! Do you always have to be sarcastic about—"
Lindy and Sarah's eyes widened in shock.
"A-Are you taking notes?" Lindy stuttered. He genuinely pulled out a small memo pad and a pen to write it down.
"Yeah, give me a minute. That was a good tip, I'll need to write it down or I'll forget it later." Leon replied matter-of-factly.
"He really thinks that's a good tip…." She whispered in disbelief.
"Hey, can I ask you a question about this?" He requested.
"Uh… yeah, sure." Lindy replied skeptically.
"Why did you look flustered and pouty when I did that instead of looking angry or bitter?" Leon asked with an honest look in his eyes.
Lindy's face turned bright red and boiled over like a tea kettle.
"Surprise!" She yelled, "That's what surprise looks like!"
"I see. So dropping people doesn't have a positive effect after all." Leon muttered pensively while writing, "I'd like to recreate the same results in a test, but that's a rather dangerous test to carry out without certainty."
"You're a psychopath…." Lindy whispered in disbelief.
"Do… you keep forgetting that or something?" He asked while closing his notepad.
Lindy's face turned bright red again, and she turned around to storm away.
"Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew!" A man whistled in the distance.
"A living human!" Leon muttered in minor excitement, "Oh… it's just a man. Caitlyn, let's move to the other door, I can tell this guy's going to waste our time."
"Woah, hold the fuck up!" The man yelled, "Who… in the fuck. Do YOU think you are?"
The man was around twenty-five, had shaggy red hair, and a studded leather jacket.
He looked like a kid with great parents and money but fell addicted to heroin and sold all his clothes except his Mad Max Halloween costume.
"Leon Traxler, age 21. Currently a psychopath; aspiring to be considered emotionally disturbed." Leon replied, "Recent harem leader, a man in a hurry, and an individual that feels few emotions aside from hanger."
The man fell silent in perplexion.
"Now, do you have any more questions?" Leon asked, "Because I have a bewildering desire to cuddle this woman, and I can't do that until I get food."
The man blinked twice before bursting into laughter.
"Cuddle!? Fucking cuddle!? It's the apocalypse; shouldn't you think about having sex with her?" He roared.
"Hmmm. Is that a normal point?" Leon asked Lindy.
"Why the hell are you asking me!?" Lindy cried.
Leon glided his eyes to Caitlyn, who was flushed red, rocking her shoulders, and looked like she was ready to strip right then and there.
"Didn't you say that you've had plenty of sex? Caitlyn wants what I want, but neither of us have any clue—"
"Stop ignoring me! I, Mazon the—" The man screamed.
"You're so loud." Leon replied in exasperation, "What are you still doing here, anyway?"
A vein popped up on Mazon's forehead.
"It's the apocalypse. I'm here to kill and rob you as any rational person would." He snapped, "Why the hell didn't you put that together?"
Leon let out a sigh packed with pleas of [why me]?
"Yeah, about that. I have a counterproposal." Leon announced.
Mazon narrowed his eyes. "What's that?"
"Instead of you doing that, can you just [not] instead?" Leon replied with an unenthusiastic expression.
"Wa-Wait, what!? Are you fucking crazy? Didn't you just hear what I said?" The redhead roared.
"Unfortunately. It's just that you're wasting our time, and I don't feel like it's necessary to kill someone because of that." Leon reasoned pensively.
"Wait, me!? I'm going to die!? Do you know how insane that sounds!?" The man asked in a vitriolic rage, "I Mazon the—"
"Well, yeah. That's the problem." Leon replied pensively, "In my mind, it's pretty natural to kill you out of convenience. You reek of death, wasting our time and threatening us."
Everyone turned to Leon with bewildered faces.
Lindy and Sarah were curious why he [hadn't] already called for the man's death.
Even Caitlyn was confused, but only because she was trying to discern whether to kill the guy or not.
"But… that's not exactly normal behavior," Leon continued, "and I'm working on my human image. Otherwise, my growth and chances of survival will drop—"
"Okay, this has gone on long enough!" Mazon roared, "Didn't you see the countless dead bodies outside this place? I did that. If you treat me like an ant one more time—"
"Oh, you're that type of guy…." Leon sighed in annoyance.
"What? Look around you! This world is [kill or be killed], and now everyone's dead, and I control a warehouse with years of food. [You're] here because you don't—"
"No," Leon scoff-laughed in amazement, "I'm pointing out you're the type of guy that feels the need to tell your life's story to the person you're about to kill. I hate that type of guy."
Caitlyn, Lindy, and Sarah nodded their heads unanimously.
"You're focusing on a personality trait and not the fact I've killed hundreds of people?" The man asked in bewilderment.
"I'm confused. Why would we?" Leon asked in confusion.
He scanned his party's faces, and they all shrugged their shoulders, driving Mazon into an even darker rage.
"Enough of this farce! You're going to be beast food in a minute when I call them to you." He snapped.
"You can control the beasts in the area?" Leon asked in interest.
"Yes, I can. I, Mazon the Beast Emperor, control monsters. Clever isn't it?" Mazon asked.
Leon and his party were pretty impressed by his foresight.
"Not only do my enemies not attack me, but I can also control them. That makes me invincible in a world where the beasts are the alpha dog." The redhead announced proudly.
"Yeah…. I was genuinely impressed until that last part." Leon replied with a disappointed frown.
"What? You think you can take on a hundred beasts?" Mazon laughed.
"Well, considering you watched us fly into this place, I'm fairly certain it doesn't matter." Leon scoff-laughed in irritation.
"Oh, so~that 's what the disconnect is. Did you think I'd only get the ability to control ground beasts?" Mazon asked mockingly, "Let me demonstrate the difference between our power!"
Mazon put his finger and thumb in his mouth and made an angelic-sounding bird call.
It was beautiful and filled the area with a radiant vibe.
It brought warm memories of summer days at the parks and scrolls down trails in the autumn.
Nevertheless, Caitin, Lindy, and Sarah were just as bored and annoyed as Leon.
"About that…." Leon sighed after ten seconds of awkward silence, "The thing is—"
"Shut up! Just wait!" Mazon snapped, "They already killed everything in this area, so they must be far away."
"Putting aside how ridiculous it is that you need to wait when enemies are before you…. I'm trying to tell you that—"
"I said, SHUT. UP. AND. WAIT!"
Leon closed his eyes patiently. The other three in his party were perplexed as to why he hadn't ordered the kill yet but didn't question him.
After ten more seconds, there was the sound of a bird in the area.
"KIIIII… KA KA… Kii… Ka.. ki…."
A truly depressing bird call rang over the building top. The flying beast was wheezing and sounded like it had stage four-lung cancer.
"W-What the fuck?" Mazon asked in disbelief.
Blunt force trauma had partially caved in a part of its skull, and its wings were broken.
Mazon's power was incredible if it could summon a winged creature that would most certainly die from flying to him.
However, the thing that shocked the man the most was—
"Philly! What the fuck happened!?" Mazon cried in anguish, "How the fuck did you end up stuck inside this decrepit creature!?"
Philly was the squealing crocodile gym rat that Caitlyn made an example of.
It was currently lodged in the super pigeon that Caitlyn hit it with.
"About that… so are you going to listen now? Or can we leave?" Leon asked in irritation, "Because any other approach will lead to your death."
Mazon froze in disbelief.
"I'm trying, Mazon, I really am. But Rome wasn't built in a day—it was built on bloodshed." Leon continued.
"So if you don't act civilized, I'll stop my training and start fresh and early tomorrow.
Until then, I'll still have time-tested strategies for dealing with violent people."
The redhead shook with anger. He had just lost his most powerful pet, and now the person in front of him was mocking him for it.
"You piece of shit! I'm not going to kill you. No, no, no. I'll have my beasts chew your legs off so you can watch me fucking your women!"
Leon's eyes snapped into a crazed state that rivaled Caitlyn's.
It shocked Lindy and Sarah to their cores.
"Did you just say that you'd touch my woman?" Leon asked with eyes that could freeze vodka in August.
