Capítulo 3: Plans for the future/What you want to be
It was night when mother called me to her room... well father is out cold due to alcohol and is sleeping in the couch tonight.
I knocked to call for mother's attention and she called me inside, I was nervous because I feel like mother is serious when I saw her sitting on the bed and calling me to sit beside her
She turned to me then asked-
Saya: Vali, by any chance do you like cooking?
I was surprised because I was gonna say to her that i'm interested in cooking next year so she will not doubt me. I mean I was always looking at father on how he always cook our food even though he only comes home every weekend because he has a restaurant chain to maintain, you might not know it but I also learned that mother is also a business genius today when I heard elder people talking in my birthday party earlier. They said mother is the one managing the funds and development of restaurant while father is a good teacher and all his disciples are all head chefs/sous of his restaurant chain all over the world. Mother must've picked up that I like cooking because I was always watching father whenever he is in the kitchen.
Vali: Un, mother can you teach me?
Saya: Son, would you like to enroll at tootsuki? the one that was built by elder Nakiri? The one you saw earlier?
Vali: Mother, I want to learn but can I learn from father's restaurant first? I'm not confident in entering a specialized school yet. What if I disgrace father's name? Our family name?
Saya was shocked once more because his son has matured early, truly a genius.
Saya: Do you want to study under your father first? You'll be travelling all over the world for years you know~?
Vali: Yes mother it hurts to not see you every time but I don't want to sully our family name because for me Pendragons are sacred and I don't want to dirty them.
Saya: Okay son come here, I will allow you to train under your father but only after classes and you must return home and attend school and achieve the highest marks, if you do that I will allow you to go with your father. Remember Vali, going to school is not just for acquiring knowledge but for you to make friends too. Promise me Vali, I don't want you to be a great chef but you don't have a single friend and not to distance yourself from others and I don't want you to act too arrogant just because you train under your father, there is always someone who will be higher than you okay? I'll talk with your father tomorrow morning and I'm sure he has stipulations(*conditions* but felt like stipulation was cool to use here (✪ω✪) ) for you too.
Vali: Un. Mother, I promise.
Saya: Now let's sleep. Happy birthday again Vali, my son. *smile*
Vali: Goodnight mother
I hugged mother and slept beside her while pondering all the words that mother said to me that night
