Capítulo 19: Red Dragon

Not only Azeroth, but the others were also testing their own magic. This was their first encounter with such powers, so they were still relatively unfamiliar with it.

"Hey, what kind of magic do you guys have?" Azeroth asked.

Hearing this, everyone paused and looked at him.

"I have wind." Xue Lian said.

"I have electric." Lei Feng said.

"I have fire." Long Wei said.

Azeroth nodded and then added:

"I have water."

"Hey, but how do you actually use this stuff? I mean, I can create a little breeze, but all it does is cool things down. How are we supposed to fight with that?" Xue Lian asked.

Lei Feng wasn't having much more luck. He said:

"My electricity just gives a slight tingle. It feels more like a massage than an attack."

"My fire is tiny, and it can't really deal any damage in a fight. But at least it's good for lighting fires." Long Wei said.

Even though they were disappointed, Azeroth was somewhat surprised.

Not overwhelmingly so, but he knew that these people had great potential with their magic.

"Don't be discouraged. You're picking this up pretty quickly. At this point, most living beings on this planet can't even reach your level. With a bit more practice, you'll be able to use your powers much more effectively."

"Is that so? Oh, by the way, I noticed there's a 'stars' section in my status window. Does that represent our strength?" Xue Lian asked.

"Yes, but it's not very significant. You can't really gauge your mana or stamina through it."

"It doesn't really matter. I know my own body. If I feel like I can't fight or use magic anymore, it means I've run out of energy." she said.

Even though what she said wasn't particularly insightful, she was right in one thing: if you can't feel your own body, something's seriously wrong.

Then he turned to Lei Feng and asked:

"Does His Majesty have any new plans?"

Lei Feng thought for a moment and then asked:

"Can the water you create be drunk?"

"Rest assured, the water is free of impurities. You could even call it distilled water." Azeroth replied.

"Good. For now, let's focus on increasing our strength. Until our magic is capable of dealing enough damage, we shouldn't actively seek out targets. But obviously, we still need to stay on guard. If we're ambushed, we'll assess the situation and act accordingly."

"Understood!" x3.

Time passed slowly, and by now Xue Lian had absorbed all her stars. She was currently practicing her wind magic.

The others were also continually trying to familiarize themselves with their magic. They noticed that their mana consumption was gradually increasing.

This was clearly a good sign. It meant they were capable of using larger amounts of mana to cause greater damage.

At first, their mana consumption was very minimal, barely noticeable. But now, each use was depleting a bit more.

As night slowly fell, they practiced for a little longer before going to sleep. After all, their bodies hadn't completely surpassed the human level yet and still required rest.

In the pitch-black, silent night, nothing could be seen. The group slept leaning against the base of trees, making them relatively hard to spot.

Suddenly, the sound of footsteps crunching on leaves and grass caused all four of them to open their eyes.

Though they couldn't see each other, they could roughly understand their teammates' intentions.

Their thoughts were simple: let Xue Lian handle them alone. Her strength was now quite formidable, having reached 9 stars.

Although taking on hundreds alone was impossible, dealing with this group was well within her capabilities.

At this moment, a few shadowy figures appeared, with something protruding from their heads that resembled horns. As they walked, they talked amongst themselves:

"Big brother, where exactly are we headed?"

"Obviously, we're out hunting. I'm sure someone will light a fire tonight. We'll find them. If their group is small, we'll eliminate them. If they're too many, we'll just move on."

"It's so dark, it's really hard to see the way."

"Stop complaining. It's supposed to be dark so we can easily spot any unusual lights."

"Aren't you scared at all? There are only a few of us. Isn't this too dangerous?"

"What's there to be scared of? We are the red dragon, the supreme race of the universe. We absolutely do not fear anyone!"

.....

They were completely red, with wings on their backs. Although the wings could move, they were too small to lift their bodies into the air.

In terms of height, they were only a few centimeters taller than humans, excluding the horns, so they didn't look too different.

Despite their fierce appearance, their strength wasn't much different from humans or goblins.

In this world, everyone started at the same power level. Whether it was the number one warrior or a newborn child, they all shared the same baseline strength.

Xue Lian silently observed for a moment, thinking:

"One, two, three... six of them? The enemy is some red dragons, huh? Well, that's fine. Not being human means they're food."

"Heh, heh, heh..."

A sinister laugh echoed through the dark night, sending chills down the spine.

The poor red dragons were utterly terrified, feeling as if some kind of demon was staring straight at them.

It wasn't just them. The other three were also startled. Even though they couldn't see her face, they could imagine the situation.

Lei Feng shook his head helplessly and thought:

"With a laugh like that, how could she ever be a symbol of justice? I don't remember her being like this before. Maybe the atmosphere is influencing how she acts. That's the only explanation I can think of."

Xue Lian, on the other hand, found it quite amusing. She thought:

"I didn't expect laughing like this to feel so good. Could I be a natural-born villain? Oh well, it doesn't matter. We're facing the enemy, and psychological pressure is just another advantage."

The red dragon group was extremely confused, and they said:

"Big brother, could there really be ghosts in this world?"

"We've been taught to believe in science, but this situation is just too bizarre."

"Yeah, big brother, I don't want to get taken by a ghost."

.....

Hearing his underlings' cowardly chatter made him annoyed. He snorted:

"From the sound of it, there's only one person. They must be trying to scare us because they're outnumbered. Search the area. We must kill this annoying person."

His underlings, seeing the logic in his words, felt less scared and began searching the area.
