She raised her head and looked around, seeing the bloodshot eyes of the old man staring at her. She realized he was the one who spoke in her mind and also the same person who ordered the guards to close the door.

"Oh, looks like I forgot something." Just as she started to contemplate what to do, she heard the woman who saved her speak. Her voice snapped her from drowning in her thoughts.

Since her face was already in the direction of the old man, she watched as his head slowly slid off his neck and fell to the ground before rolling towards her. Seeing the head before her, she did not feel fear or panic. Instead, she was surprised to realize she felt boundless relief and joy.
