Sayu quietly slid down from the tree.
With her short legs, she ran to Teiyu, looking up at him with admiration.

"Don't do this again, though. After all, Kuno-nee is only looking out for you. I'll talk to her about reducing your training load."
"Mm... I know." Sayu drooped her head, her little ears on her tanuki-hooded outfit drooping in defeat.

Kuno Nana was only wearing a thin red-and-white shrine maiden outfit.
With them so close,
It was almost like skin-to-skin contact, with nothing in between.

Teiyu's face turned red, and he quickly leaned back, trying to keep some distance.

In front of them was a huge basin full of fresh, glistening red carrots.
"This… this is too much... Can't we have a little less, Kuno-nee?" Teiyu pleaded, glancing at Sayu, who was already swaying dizzily as if she were drunk, her eyes rolling back.
"No~ way~."
"Today, you're going to help Sayu eat all these carrots and fix her bad habit of being picky!" Kuno Nana's round face lit up with a mischievous smile. "You little brat, daring to lie to me and even eating my tofu, let's see how you like this!"
"What's going on with you two? Why do you both look so miserable?"
Nearby, the curious Itakane Emi approached with a broom in hand.
"It's these two troublemakers, Sayu and Teiyu. They teamed up to trick me!!"
Kuno Nana sighed and whispered the story to Itakane Emi, explaining what had happened.
"So that's what happened~~," Itakane Emi couldn't help but laugh, gently tapping Teiyu on the head with her finger.
"Teiyu, honestly~~, how could you go along with Sayu's antics?"
"Hmph, this brat even tricked me! He's become quite a little rascal."
Kuno Nana glared at Teiyu, irritated.
"…" Teiyu knew he was in the wrong, so he kept his head down, silently munching on the carrots. "This is just my luck…"
Some of the shrine maidens nearby, seeing the commotion, also gathered around out of curiosity.
Even the shrine maiden Genjou Ringo, who was helping people with their fortunes, occasionally glanced over with curiosity.
A group of women chattered away, making quite a lively scene.

Seeing the shrine maidens gathered around, watching with smiles on their faces,
Teiyu could only look on helplessly.
After Sayu saved him, he had stayed at the shrine for a while.
The shrine maidens had all taken good care of him, treating him like a little brother.
So Teiyu didn't feel too embarrassed.
