Capítulo 1: Daichi Akira And His Friends
Daichi Akira sat at his desk, his eyes glued to the screen in front of him as he furiously typed away. He was lost in the game he was playing. Suddenly, he paused, taking a deep breath and letting out a content sigh.
"My name is Daichi Akira," he said to no one in particular,
"And I love playing online games. Trying out new games is always a thrill for me, I study at Nippon High School, where I'm considered a bit of a nerd. I love reading books, and I'm pretty good at my studies too. But that doesn't mean I'm all work and no play." Akira grinned as he stood up from his desk, his muscles flexing as he stretched. "I also love working out at the gym. Keeping my body in shape is important to me. But there's one thing that I love even more than all of these things combined."
He sat back down at his desk, his eyes softening as he thought of her. "Emiko. The girl of my dreams. I've been in love with her for as long as I can remember, and I'll do anything to make her mine. Even if that means taking on the virtual world of Games."
Akira leaned forward, his fingers flying over the keyboard as he delved deeper into the game. He was determined to win. Akira was in the middle of an intense battle in an online shooting game, his fingers flying over the keyboard as he and his friends worked together to defeat their enemies. Suddenly, the door to his room burst open and Akira screamed in surprise. His mother stood in the doorway, her face red with anger.
"AKIRAAAAAAAAA!!! HAVEN'T YOU GONE TO SLEEP YET? DON'T YOU SEE THAT IT'S ALREADY 3:00 AM? YOU HAVE SCHOOL AT 8:00!" she exclaimed.
Akira's heart sank as he realized just how late it was. He quickly closed his game said bye to his friends and shut down his computer, trying to hide his guilt.
"I'm sorry, Mom. I was just really into the game," he said, rubbing the back of his neck.
His mother sighed and shook her head. "Akira, I love that you're so passionate about your interests, but you need to be more responsible. You have school tomorrow and you need your rest. Now, go to bed!"
Akira couldn't help but feel a little sheepish as he got up from his chair and made his way to his bed. He promised himself that he wouldn't stay up so late playing games again, especially with school the next day. As he drifted off to sleep, he couldn't help but think about the highly anticipated release of GameGate. He saw the trailer of the Game a day ago The beep of the alarm clock blared through the room, causing Akira to groggily sit up in bed. He rubbed his eyes, trying to clear the sleep from his mind, and looked at the clock. It was 7:30 AM, and he was already running late. With a sigh of frustration, Akira quickly got out of bed and began getting ready for school. He felt tired and sluggish, but he knew he couldn't afford to miss any more classes. He threw on his school uniform, barely stopping to wash his face, and rushed out of the room. As he made his way down the hallway, his mother called out to him from the kitchen.
"Akira, have some breakfast before you go," she said, holding out a plate of food.
"I can't, Mom," Akira replied, his voice strained with urgency. "I'm already running late. I'll grab something at the canteen."
His mother looked disappointed, but she nodded understandingly. "Okay, just be careful," she said, giving him a kiss on the forehead.
Akira rushed out the door and sprinted to school. As Akira approached the entrance to Nippon High School, he felt a slap on his neck. He turned to see his friend Ryo, a fellow gamer and classmate, grinning at him.
"Oiii Akira, how are you? Last night you left the game in between, what happened?" Ryo asked.
Akira rubbed the back of his neck and smiled.
"I'm good, Ryo. My mom came in, so I had to leave." Ryo nodded,
"Yeah, I heard your mom's voice." As they walked down the halls of their school, Ryo kept talking to Akira about various things. But Akira's mind was elsewhere, as he couldn't help but think about his friend Ryo and the impression he must be making on the reader. He knew that Ryo was more than just a short 5'5 19-year-old gamer. He was a confident, intelligent young man who always stood up for what he believed in. So Akira decided to take a moment to introduce Ryo to the audience. "He's my friend Ryo, He's a year older than me a 19 yo short heightened guy but don't judge him by his height. He is a really good Gamer especially when it comes to High Iq Games." And with that, the scene shifted back to Akira and Ryo as they continued their conversation
"Have you watched the trailer for that upcoming open-world online game releasing next month? What was the name of it again?" Ryo Asked'
"GameGate?" Akira replied, his interest piqued.
"Yes, GameGate!" Ryo exclaimed. "Did you know that on the release date of the game, they're organizing a tournament between players and the winner will receive 10 billion yen!" Akira's eyes widened in disbelief.
"10 billion yen?! Just for the release date tournament?" he asked, shocked.
"And which company is making the game?"
"The company name is also GameGate," Ryo replied.
"They're new, but it looks like they're rich. The graphics in the game look so realistic, and the game map is based on Tokyo. It's huge! And they're giving such a big prize just for the premiere."
"Doesn't it seem weird to you that a company from nowhere is organizing such a big tournament?" Akira asked, his eyebrows furrowed.
Ryo shrugged. "Who cares? It's a great opportunity for gamers like us. Let's just enjoy it."
With that, Akira and Ryo continued walking to school, their conversation turning to other gaming topics as they made their way to their first class. Akira and Ryo walk over to the class where they see their other friend who's a gamer as well Haru, who is sitting in class. Haru greets them with a wave, which they return. Akira asks Haru how he's doing, to which Haru replies that he's good. Haru mentions that Akira left the game last night, to which Akira explains that his mom came. As they chat, Akira introduces Haru to the audience.
"This is my friend Haru. He's 5'9 with short hair, but don't let his looks fool you. He's got an encyclopedic knowledge of technology and nukes, but he's especially good at shooting and racing games. He's always the one to tell us what gun to choose and what car to drive when we are playing games."
