Capítulo 30: Chapter 30: Red Keep 3

After everyone had eaten and drunk their fill...well, at least some of them had eaten and drunk their fill, Rune took them to an underground stone chamber with hay on the floor as mattresses.

Small shallow pits appeared on the 'hay mattress' due to long-term sleeping.

When everyone found their own beds and went to sleep, Jon found an empty seat against the wall, which should be Joey's previous seat.

As soon as Jon approached the bed where Joey stayed, he found that the person sleeping next to him was the little chestnut-haired girl.

As soon as he lay down, he heard the little girl say, "Newcomer, it's your turn to change the toilet for the nobles tomorrow."

"OK."

When Jon heard this, he readily agreed. In his opinion, this was like someone offering him a pillow when he was sleepy. He could take this opportunity to find the exact location of the Hand of the King's Tower.

The little girl was a little surprised, but she didn't want to think too much about it. She rolled her eyes and went to sleep.

Although Jon is now in Ned's situation, it's already this time and there's no point in worrying, so he might as well take this opportunity to have a good rest.

So it was not until the sky was getting dark in the evening that the door of the underground stone chamber was reopened.

"Whose turn is it to change the toilet? Come out now."

"I!"

Jon climbed up from the straw mat, and Rune looked inside again.

"Minnie! You take him!"

Jon looked in the direction Rune was shouting and saw that the chestnut-haired girl was called Minnie.

She quickly stood up, strode to the door, turned back and said to Jon, "Hurry up!"

Rune said nothing. After all, Minnie was capable of doing the work of two men, and there was no need for him to protect Jon, a newcomer. The half silver coin had been used up the moment he stepped into the Red Castle.

Jon naturally didn't care about Minnie's attitude. If she could bring him to the Hand of the King's Tower, he would not allow anyone to say that she had a bad attitude!

A cart used to carry toilets was pulled out from a corner. On the cart was a large wooden barrel that two people could hug together, which was used to carry waste.

Following Minnie's footsteps, Jon looked around and found that there were many more patrolling soldiers here than in Winterfell. He didn't know if it was because this was a palace or because of Robert's death, but it didn't look peaceful at all.

The walls of the Red Keep are high and thick, but the area of the Red Keep is not very large. Except for the top of the wall, there are few places where the sun can shine, giving people a depressing and gloomy feeling.

The crimson bricks have many pits due to the invasion of wind and rain. Many birds choose to build nests in the pits. There are also wild cats lazily basking in the sun on the top of the wall and the top of the tower.

After a while, the last ray of light in the sky disappeared, and the waiter in charge of lighting the lamps lit the small lamps on the roadside for illumination.

Looking at the scene in front of him, Jon's face twitched slightly. After all, he was used to seeing royal palaces with red walls and green tiles on TV. The scene in front of him seemed a bit "shabby" to him, not even as good as a better landlord's manor.

The two came to the edge of the Red Keep, and Minnie pointed to Jon and said:

"That's the White Sword Tower, which is where we are responsible."

He looked up and saw a slender four-story tower in front of him. There was only one room on the top floor, but this room protruded out of the outer city wall like a soldier craning his neck to look out.

"It seems that Lord Barristan lives there?"

Minnie looked at him in surprise.

"Oh! You knew that? But he has been replaced. The one living there now is Ser Sandor Clegane."

"The one with half his face burned?"

"Be careful or he'll chop you in two with one click!"

Jon knew that Barristan should still be in King's Landing. He remembered that in the original story, he saw Ned being beheaded in the crowd with his own eyes.

But now is not the time to think about these things. Jon wanted to know where Ned's Hand Tower was, but there was nothing good to say at the moment, so Jon thought about it and pointed to a large round tower next to the White Sword Tower and said:

"That should be the Hand of the King's Tower. It's so big!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Minnie burst into laughter.

"Hahaha, I'm dying of laughter. That's the Raven Tower, where the maesters raise messenger ravens."

However, even though Minnie laughed at him, she still pointed out the location of the Hand of the King's Tower to him.

"See that long staircase? Climb up and you'll see the Hand of the King's Tower."

"Oh, thank you."

"Thank you? Thank you for what?"

"nothing."

Jon realized his slip of the tongue and tried to get away with it.

"By the way, if you want to die, you can climb those stairs. If you don't want to die, just go through the doorway over there."

Jon saw Minnie pointing at a corner of the wall where there was a small door less than one and a half meters long.

"Okay, go ahead, I'll wait here..."

Before Minnie could finish her words, her whole body fell limply. Jon gently supported her with his hands and dragged her to an inconspicuous haystack.

Seeing that there was no one around, Jon pulled the cart through the small door.

The wheels of the cart pressed against the stone slabs, making a sound of windlass, and gradually, Jon came into view of the arched dome of the Hand's Tower and the round windows with gold edges.

Perhaps because Jon was pushing a dung cart as a cover, no one doubted his identity.

However, he did not approach the Hand of the King's Tower directly, but went to find the person responsible for cleaning the toilet in the Hand of the King's Tower first, otherwise he might be exposed.

Jon waited for a while and saw a guy with long hair and a felt hat walking into his sight. He walked up to him and said, "Leave this to me. You can go and sleep there first."

He activated the [Bribe] skill again. The guy in the felt hat became dazed. Then he nodded woodenly, pulled his cart and left.

Jon knew this was not enough, so he used Meng Huo's experience card, and suddenly the wild cats and birds everywhere became restless.

A series of fluttering sounds were heard, and the birds that had already returned to their nests suddenly flew up without warning and began circling in the air.

And the night troublemakers who were hiding there came out one after another from the cracks in the tiles and walls, with their bright green eyes like two light bulbs.

Because it was at night, no one noticed it at first.

The bird circling overhead suddenly fell like a flying stone and hit a figure hiding behind a branch and a concealed window.

And the wild cats that were supposed to be hiding from these sneaky figures actually began to attack them.

"One, two, three...seven...eleven!"

Through these wild cats and birds, Jon discovered a total of eleven secret outposts monitoring Ned!

He looked at the big wooden barrel on the cart and thought that this was the only thing he could rely on.
