Capítulo 16: A Grievous News

Torrhen found himself at the end of the coast, where he found the boatman dozing of on his boat. Highly dangerous if the boat wasn't bound at the coast.

He nudged the boatman, whereas the latter jerked awake from the interruption.

"Oh... oh, My Lord. I will have to be honest, I have half the mind to leave you, My Lord." The boatman confessed, but continued, "Were there Green Men?"

"Unfortunately, there was not. Though, I'm glad you did not leave me, else you'll miss a gold dragon. Here." Torrhen tossed a gold coin to the boatman, boarding his boat and gestured to start rowing. "I'll tossed you another dragon if you hurry up." This made the boatman's arms to flurry with haste, rowing quickly ashore Harrenhal.

"You know d*mn well why, Robert. Lyanna saw you leaving with a wh*re this morning. Should you continue this, perhaps Ned will be the one to punch you.'' Shouted, by, Torrhen to Robert. He continued, "And you've also hurt Ned. He blames himself for suggesting to his Lord father of your betrothal with Lyanna."

Robert grumbles, smashing the table, "Then, why did Lyanna accept the damn flower, Torrhen?"

"You should be lucky it was just a flower, Robert. It has no meaning to it, and it is unfair for her to be the one in blame, to a Royal scandal at that." Torrhen sighed, he continued, albeit quietly, "We should go back to Vale. Finish your fostering and be the Lord of Storm's End. You'll marry Lyanna, either way."

Robert growled but nodded in the end, "You will be the only bastard who can talk me out. You and Ned."

Seventh day of the third moon, 282 AC. The Eyrie, Vale.

"Ned"

Ned stopped sparring with Robert. This started when the news of Lyanna Stark were kidnapped by Prince Rhaegar Targeryan. Ned was distracting himself, drowning himself to spar with Robert, who had the same kind of attitude. Robert and Ned burried themselves in such activities to take their minds off Lyanna, wishing something they can do about it, and seek justice.

"What is it, Lord Arryn?" Ned asked.

"I do not know how to say this... I'm sorry, Ned. Your Father died, along with your brother, Brandon." Lord Arryn said, slowly. Ned was stunned, heartbroken. Lord Arryn continued, "And... King Aerys ordered me to hand you and Robert to the court of King's Landing."

Torrhen chose this moment to speak, "And, what will you do Lord Arryn?"

"I chose to right the wrongs." Lord Arryn said. "You are the Lord Paramount of the North, Ned. What will you do?"

"I'll call the banners." Ned said simply, gaining Torrhen a squint at his eye.

Robert also spoke up, "Then, I'm with you, Ned. I'll call the Stormlanders."

Lord Arryn nodded, "I'll call the Vale knights."

"What about you, Ser Torrhen Karstark?" Robert eyed Torrhen.

Torrhen smirked, "Lord Ned has called the banners, I must answer the call."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Lord Arryn, we've come to say goodbye." Torrhen said, to the sullen old man sitting by his solar. Torrhen knew why their foster-father was heartbroken, his nephew and heir died at King's Landing to side with Brandon Stark, seeking justice on his sister's kidnapping. Elbert Arryn was a good man, loyal and honorable to the bone. Torrhen did not have much time with him, but Brandon Stark did. Arryn line ends with Lord Jon Arryn with his nephew's death, and the only choice would be his cousin, Ser Denys Arryn.

Lord Arryn broke out of his thought, setting aside cups which he did not partake for a long time. "Ah, yes, go gather your Bannerman and meet us on Riverrun." Slight shake of his cup, he drank it all to the last drop, "I must go to Gulltown, to take down the Targeryan Loyalist. Now, you've said your goodbyes, go."

Torrhen nodded, while Ned said, "May the Old gods and the new guide us in our need, Lord Jon." Then, he turned to leave, going to the port town to leave with Torrhen, on a ship to White Harbor. Surely, the North knows the death of their beloved Rickard Stark.

"Torrhen, do you have anything to say to your family? You know, Lord Karstark have children, do you have to say goodbye to them?" Ned said as they walk through the halls of the Eyrie, which still filled with magical presence. Torrhen was still leaning on Bran the Builders magic on these halls, even if the history says otherwise. He knows the Heart Trees doesn't contain any magical presence, or the Septs of the Seven.

"Rickard's children? Those three hellions? Not really, no. You know I stay at the Eyrie, every time you and Robert go home to Winterfell or to Storm's End. I have no love for my blood family, but I acknowledge them, at the same. So, we'll meet Rickard at the host, but as allies only, not as brothers. Thus, no love at my nephews all the same." Torrhen sighed, admitting the honest relationship with his family.

Ned nodded, still pained from the deaths of his father and brother, "Still, you must say your words to them, this mayhaps, be your last chance to speak to them."

"Aye, I feel this might be the last I speak to them. I'll go to Karhold to gather my brother's host. Then... I'll go to speak to my nephews if they're even worth of Karstark blood." Torrhen smiled.

Ned then made a sharp turn, meeting with Robert, who is very loud and ready to face his greatest fears, riding a ships. Robert have develop a trauma from his parent's death of Shipbreaker Bay of the Stormlands.

Torrhen smiled in this times, trying to life some fallen spirits, "Mt only wishes, my friends, is that we survive this war." Taking out his saved wineskin, "Even if the world call us Usurpers, we will have our justice from the abuse of the Targeryan power."

"All I wish is to bash my hammer to the perfect jaw of our prince, Torrhen, and... and Lyanna to come back." Robert clutch his war hammer on his back, he turned his eyes to Ned, "I promise, Ned, our house will join, when we take Lyanna back. My Lyanna. Your Lyanna"

Torrhen turned to Ned, sensing his foreboding of anger. Ned does have a great patience to our mutual friend, Robert. Even if he disrespect his sister in their presence, Ned swallowed his anger and guilt.

Torrhen wanted to say 'I told you so' to Ned, when he suggested to his father to betroth his sister to his whoring friend. But, that would anger Ned much more, while Torrhen, purposely drowning his friend from guilt.

Torrhen looked at the port, hoping for the best in the wars to come.
