Capítulo 228: It hurts

Jaxon lingered for a moment, his eyes narrowing as he glared toward Viviana's cell. Her sobs echoed faintly in the damp, suffocating air of the dungeon, but he felt no sympathy, only disgust. Disgust for the woman who had caused so much pain to the man he loved. His jaw tightened, and with a deep breath, he forced himself to turn away.

The torches lining the walls cast flickering shadows over Jaxon's face as he ascended the steps, his thoughts a storm of anger and helplessness. He hated seeing Orion hurt like this. Hated knowing there was nothing he could do to shield him from the wounds that Viviana's cruel words has left behind.

At the top of the stairs, he paused. Orion was standing a few feet away, leaning heavily against the cold, rough stone wall. His head was bowed, and his hands gripped the edge of a nearby table so tightly his knuckles were white. His shoulders trembled slightly, his breath coming in uneven, ragged gasps.
