"What?" Izan asked, frowning in confusion.

"I want a dog," Elian repeated, his voice steady but a little playful.

Izan let out a low chuckle despite the pounding in his head. "A dog? Are you serious?"

Elian nodded, his eyes lighting up. "A small one. Maybe a terrier or a spaniel."

Izan laughed softly, surprised. "That's all you want? A dog?"

Elian grinned. "It's the only thing that will make me truly forgive you for last night."

Izan smiled and kissed the top of Elian's head. "Consider it done."

Elian had asked Aria a few days ago if there were dogs in Arcanoria. Aria had looked at him like he'd gone mad and replied, "Why wouldn't there be dogs in the empire?"

Not wanting to explain his odd question, Elian had simply shrugged and said he didn't know because he was never allowed to explore when he lived in Marcelos, nor when he was in Velvet Moon, something Aria was already aware of.
