Asher, Yas, and Mandi knew that they wouldn't have any contact with the four divers once they went underwater, but it didn't make the toned surfer feel any better about it.

In fact, he felt somewhat like a coward.

He knew by heart what to do when you were about to scuba—Barlow and Loretta had shown him numerous times, and he had helped out on their dive boat to prep gear when one of them was sick or Barlow took a quick holiday with Caroline. But each time he thought about submerging, he froze like a damsel in distress in a bad horror movie.

“Hey, don't be nervous. They have the two inflatable signals, yellow and orange, and they're all seasoned divers.” Mandi patted him on the arm, but right as she did so, he heard a 'ping' sound.

“What was that?” Yasmine asked, taking a step back from the helm. “Did I hit something?”
