Kousuke immediately returned to the apartment after meeting Detective Otake.

Before leaving, he told the private investigator to continue keeping an eye on Heisuke. He wanted to know any new things that occurred in that man's life.

Detective Otake promised to do his job as discreetly as he could. He happily got inside his jeep with a bulky money envelope in his jacket pocket.

Kousuke actually wanted to drive around the city but, he forsake the idea. That was the reason why he was currently locking himself in the study room.

The file that contained every piece of information about Heisuke was lying on the coffee table.

"I couldn't even imagine... I never expected that..."

Kousuke lowered his head in shame. He covered his haggard-looking face with both hands. His shoulders were shaking, bearing the weight of guilt that kept piling up on his back.
