Capítulo 20: Forlorn Heiress!

The loud sound of horns honking fell into his ears, the deafening flood of vehicles was the sole thing which forced the old man to come out of his dreamland.

Renna was driving smoothly towards the destination, which wasn't even that far now but before she could reach, the lady wanted the driver to wake up first.

"Where am I?"

His groan pricked Renna's ears and a smile graced her lips. It was the perfect moment for her to take the charge.

The old man would have never imagined, that how badly he was trapped into her clutches now, let alone having the acknowledgment of how Renna had taken advantage of his insensate state.

Have anyone of you pondered for a second that if Renna didn't want to garner Ronan's attention, for which she even checked for any association of the old man…

Then why did she let those local thugs leave, who could be a part of Ronan's army or could have any partial connection with the underworld people?

Why Renna pretended not to see the man in the worn out rooftop window, about whom the queen was well aware?

The queen didn't want to get caught and even tried to stay low key, as she had planned, then why did she use her fists along with words?

It would have caught someone's attention, wouldn't it?

"Good evening, sire!"

She lifted her face up and cast a look at the man, who was holding his head but immediately turned towards Renna's direction.

"Y- you!"

The man became stupefied by the sight in front of him, where he had hoped to wake up surrounded by police or perhaps if the things had gotten critical during his unconscious state, then in a hospital.

To the old man's surprise, he found himself in his own cab which Renna was driving. He couldn't form words as what to utter first, a mixed emotion accompanied him filled with rage, combining with an unknown fright!

Battling with his emotions, the old man pretended to compose himself but his stuttering tongue was truthful, same as his shivering silhouette was narrating his feelings.

A soft smile appeared on Renna's face as she glanced at the old man in the mirror and replied to him, in a calm natural tone.

"Yes, I?"

"Why are you here? Stop the car! I said stop the car. Get out!"

The old man finally burst out angrily, waving his hand in the air as he leaned towards the driving seat by supporting his bulky body with the right one.

Renna shrugged and chuckled softly, to her, his threats were completely hollow and useless because the fierce lioness was unmoved.

"Didn't you say earlier, you were going to help me in renting a house?"

The sly lady pouted innocently in the mirror while her eyes were darted on to the never ending charcoal python. She knew how to play with emotions and the complete knowledge of men's mentality, Renna was aware of how to wrap the old man around her pinkie!

"Now you are kicking me out of the cab, even after knowing how I saved you from those thugs?"

The cab halted in the red light at another junction, when Renna batted her eyelashes towards the man, giving off a mocking expression.

"Saved!? For fuck sake, knocking me out brutally is called saving? Till now my neck is hurting as if I had cracked my bones!"

Unconsciously the man's right hand travelled towards his neck, while he spat aggressively at Renna.

His heart and brain was in a fight simultaneously, one was saying to pounce on her angrily while the other was continuously beeping an alarm within him, that if he pulled out such an act, he would invite the wrath of the devil!

"Yeah! What was I supposed to do, if they had known I was having another person with me in the cab. How could I let an innocent citizen die just because I got into a trouble with those thugs?"

Renna ebbed and nearly was falling over the seat, as she looked back towards the old man. Her sudden reaction almost made the man jump into his position, was he afraid just because Renna had knocked him out?

Definitely not.

Not everyone in the New York city was aware of such martial arts and techniques, a single blow and the man was unconscious.

The fragile looking woman had intimidated him, which induced the emotions of terror within him.

"Whatever it is, I don't care what you did back there. Get out of my cab before I call the police!"

The old man rattled out the cellphone from his pocket and once again threatened Renna, this time using the police.

All the poor soul had wanted, was to go far away from Renna but the lady wasn't willing to leave the man yet.

"Well, sure. Go ahead, sir. But I must suggest that you should see the pictures in your gallery before contacting the police."

Renna passed a wide smile to him, the corners of her lips almost touched the eyes.

The old man had already sensed the stench of danger and Renna's weird ghoulish smile confirmed his hunch. The screen swiping sound echoed in the air which accompanied the starting of the engine, as the traffic light indicated green.

Renna resumed her focus on the driving, while the lady cast a short look at the man sitting behind.

Horror?

Why shouldn't?
