With the attack over, rebuilding could begin. In most parts of the world, there was more damage to their cities or settlements, and they didn't have as many protectors as Lunaris and Goldspire. The cult had most of the world in the palms of its hands because most of these settlements were under its care.
So, most of these people are registered in their system and can be identified. Even their powers and weaknesses are recorded. While that information was being recorded as a type of government, it was more like a private organization doing what they wanted with your data.
In this case, it was to keep the people in check and send them to better cities if they became too strong for that place. With the cult having its hands in almost all the inner workings of all the cities and settlements in this world, it is easy to pass this off as saying that you have a connection there.

"Mom, Dad, I'm going out. See you later. Love you!" A girl ran out of her house, leaving behind her mother, who exhaustedly lay on the couch with her father massaging her legs. She left the new house that her parents had just bought. The last one was destroyed when the first attack came. While she wasn't home at that time, her mother was. With luck, her mother managed to awaken and kill the monsters that were destroying the house.
Later, when the rescue squad came, they saved her and reunited her and her father with her mother, who had just finished fighting the monsters. While Mom awakened, the dynamics in the house didn't change. Mom and Dad still loved each other just as much. The only difference is that Mom spoils Dad a lot more now.
Mom also often goes on adventure missions to earn a lot of income, which is why we can afford our home here in Goldspire. We lived in the art section because while Dad didn't awaken any strong powers, he could awaken a special power related to his paintings.
They were kind of like talismans that could be activated, but his paintings could become alive. So he could paint a monster, and it would come alive. While he could do that, it wouldn't be strong because Dad's energy wasn't much, but his healing and buff paintings were selling well. So, while he had his own business selling his paintings, Mom went out to the adventure guild.
Mom also has her party. You had Mom, who was the tank of the party. Then you had Aunt Camilla, who was the swordsman; Uncle Sam, who was the bowman; and lastly, Big Sis Camilla, who was the mage. They were currently C-rank adventurers, and while not the strongest, they did have some fame.
Running around the busy street, she saw all types of things. Some were happy soldiers drinking a beer and drunkenly walking home. Some were saddened by the news they received and were breaking down because a family member didn't survive the attack. While the chances were slim to die when you have ties to this city, it still happens.
While normally, a girl like her would have been unable to handle seeing that type of scene; this world wasn't normal for a long time. While she wanted to stay in touch with her emotions when the first attack happened, she lost so many friends that she vowed to become strong and get back at the people responsible for her loss.
Running to her destination was always difficult, but she smiled excitedly when she arrived. There are four academies in the city of Goldspire; she was now in one of them. While there were four, they operated the same way, just in different locations. The academy was built like a big castle and stood in the center of the art district.
She excitedly walked inside. While there weren't a hundred different races in the academy, like in those fantasy stories she always read, there were many different people. A lot of people were walking towards the biggest door that you could see when you entered. I just followed, and when I entered, I saw that there was an opening ceremony where you had to sit and wait.
Looking around for a good place to sit, I saw that there were a lot of empty seats in the middle of the hall. Walking toward there, I sat in a row where only one other girl sat. The girl had a mysterious but deadly aura that kind of scared me, but as I knew that this academy was full, the seats were probably going to be full as well, so I just sat next to her and looked toward the podium.
I felt a stare at my side and saw the girl looking at me with her cold eyes. Seeing that the situation would become awkward, I introduced myself. "Hello, my name is Lydia. Nice to meet you." I smiled as I introduced myself. Looking at the girl, I checked her out again. She had beautiful black hair that went to her shoulders. Her black, cold eyes were deeper than the abyss.
While we were just sixteen years old, I could see her developed body. "Selena," the girl said and looked away again. Her smooth and cold voice sounded in my ear, but I was confused by what she meant. "What do you mean?" I asked, confusion written on my face.
"My name is Selena." She repeated herself again, this time better introducing herself. "Well, nice to meet you, Selena." "Mm." She just nodded to my words. Seeing that she wasn't going to speak anymore, I sighed and focused back on the stage, where now a couple of people stood ready to give their speeches.
Looking around the room again, I saw it was almost packed to the brim, with only a few empty seats. There were also some women standing at the side, but while they looked normal, they had a deadlier aura than the girl next to me. Compared to the woman standing at the side, this girl beside me was like a kitten. I calmed my nerves down again and waited for the people on stage.
