Capítulo 381: Zeref's Motives
(Third Person POV)
"Natsuuu!!" They all heard a voice call out
Jason looked up to see one of his small airships making its way towards them. Atop of it, was Lucy and Wendy looking down at them.
Lucy saw who was standing in front of them and widened her eyes, "Is that...?" She said, "Its....It's Zeref!!"
Wendy covered her mouth as she sweated in nervousness, "Oh no...!"
Zeref looked up, "More flies appear to arrive...." He said, "Brandish...."
"Yes." She said, "I'll handle it."
Natsu looked at Jason, "J-Jason..." He said, "Zeref says that..."
"Shut up." Jason said, "Not now. Now's not the time to discuss this."
As Lucy and Wendy dropped down form the airship that was being driven by Carla in her human form, they looked at the two mages in front of them.
Lucy couldn't help but shake in nervousness, "What did I get myself into?"
Jason looked at Zeref, ignoring Lucy, "Hey, asshole." He said, "What did you go and do, now?"
Zeref shook his head, "I don't see how's that any of your business." He said
Jason narrowed his eyes, "E.N.D. huh?" He said, "Sorry to break it to you, that shit-for-brains ain't making an appearance, I'll have you know."
"And who are you to make such decisions?" Zeref said, "You're just an anomaly. I must applaud you, you defeated Tartaros, stopped the Eclipsed Darkness and banished Endless. That is not something an ordinary person can hope to achieve. But this is where your exploits end."
Jason raised his spear, "Is that so?" He said with a frown, "And why's that?"
Zeref began to release a massive and dark aura, "Because I'll kill you." He said, "Right here and now."
"Nah." Jason said as he lunged at him
He appeared in front of him in an instant, thrusting his spear at Zeref. The spear then hit a massive earth wall that was formed there by Brandish's magic.
"You really think you can strike at him with me here?" Brandish said with a serious tone, "I'll kill you for that."
"Thank you, Brandish." Zeref said
He then swung his arm, blasting a massive black ball through the earth wall that hit Jason straight into the chest. The ball exploded with dark power that sent him flying back.
Lucy widened his eyes, "J-Jason!" She said
Jason hit the ground and writhed in pain, "Shit!" He said
Natsu took a step forward, "Oi!"
Jason got on his knees, being engulfed in black energy, "Stay back!!!" He told them
They all looked at him with surprise, not sure what was happening with him. They could feel an immense amount of dark magic coming from the black energy that was surrounding them.
Brandish took a step forward but Zeref stopped her.
"Give it a second." Zeref said
"Fuck..." Jason, "This ain't that bad...."
He then straightened up as he swung his spear, this time it had switched to a thin spear-blade as it but through the black magic, being siphoned into it.
"Runesave: Magic Sealing"
"Oh?" Zeref said, "He survived it?"
Jason was panting as blood covered his face, giving Zeref an enraged scowl.
"You bastard..." He said, "That hurt like hell..."
'I could've activated Black God Slayer magic and eaten it....' Jason thought to himself, 'But I can't reveal that. I'm not so sure if they're even aware of it. Irene only knows that I have Sage God Slayer Magic but not how I have it. Black God Slayer Magic will be my trump card against Zeref when I fight him. But not now....'
Zeref chuckled, "Quite interesting..." He said, "You're an interesting man.....But I'm afraid this is as far as you'll get, Jason. After I'm done with the War, I'll have Fairy Tail to achieve my goal. To Bring an end to the world. And when I'm at that point, I'll have to make a decision, Jason."
Jason raised an eyebrow, "Oh yeah?" He said, "What's that?"
Zeref gave him a menacing smirk, "Whether or not I unleash him." He said, "E.N.D. I need to decide if I wish to live or die. The world has rejected me so I decided to reject it. But I still have that curse...of contradiction....I must make up my mind..."
Jason sighed, "What an unhealthy obsession you have with him. You're not making any sense at all." He said, "I thought I told you, Zeref. E.N.D will not appear at all, I'll make sure of it."
"How will you manage that?" Zeref said
"Let me worry about it." Jason said, "I got a little weapon of mine that I'll use on either you, Acnologia, or E.N.D if the need comes."
Zeref couldn't help but find Jason amusing. He was aware of the fact he defeated Endless, so the possibility of Jason wielding the Calamitous Edge; the reality-severing halberd, has crossed his mind. But the odds were still low.
"You'll be fortunate, though." Zeref said, "I won't use the Book to Harm Natsu, I'll give you that mercy. "
"Hm.." Jason said, "Sure, bud."
Zeref chuckled, "Enough talk." He said, "I've had my fill. For now, I'll do this."
He swung his arms, releasing an immense magic power.
The air around them began to distort as they felt a spell activating.
"Shit..." He said, "I wonder what....Ah, fuck!"
Jason was able to tell what the spell was going to do and he had to do something to stop it.
"Brandish." Zeref said, "I'll have a little time with the pink-haired one, handle these others."
Zeref the clapped his hands, releasing a spatial spell.
"Domain: Ruined Remains of The Past"
Jason widened his eyes, "W-What?!" He said, "A Spatial Domain?!"
He was able to tell that Zeref was activating a spatial spell, but he never anticipated a Spatial Domain.
Natsu was suddenly sucked into a single point in the air as Zeref followed behind him.
"Natsu!!" both Lucy and Happy exclaimed
"Natsu-san!" Wendy said as she took a step forward
Jason then pushed Wendy out of the way, "Look out!!" He yelled
A massive stone spike emerged from the ground where Wendy was at, grazing Jason's arm as he had pushed Wendy out of the way.
The little Dragon Slayer had fallen down on her butt as she looked up at Jason with surprise.
"Wendy!" Lucy exclaimed
Brandish had her arm extended, "We're not done here."
Jason looked at her with a serious scowl, "Oh you wanna fight?" He said, "I'll fucking fight you for sure...."
"But don't complain if I hurt you too bad."
