Capítulo 13: Chapter12: Arriving at Greythorn
Natsu, Lucy, and Happy entered the bustling town of Greythorn, where the streets were crowded with people discussing the latest rumors about the dragon sighting and recent disturbances. Voices mixed with fear and excitement filled the air.
"Let's start by finding an inn," Natsu suggested. "We need to gather information."
Lucy agreed, and they headed towards the nearest inn. The building was modest but welcoming, with a sign hanging above the door that read "The Roaring Dragon."
Inside, the inn was warm and lively. Natsu approached the counter, where a burly man with a grizzled beard stood polishing a mug.
"Excuse me," Natsu began, "we're looking for information about the dragon sighting. Heard anything interesting lately?"
The innkeeper looked up, his expression wary. "Yeah, there's been a lot of talk about that. People say a dragon's been spotted near the old castle outside of town."
Lucy's interest was piqued. "Do you know anything about the castle or the dragon?"
The innkeeper nodded. "The castle's been abandoned for years. Some say it's haunted, but lately, strange things have been happening around there. People have seen flashes of light and heard roars."
Natsu's eyes sparkled with determination. "Sounds like our next stop is that old castle."
Lucy nodded, her resolve strengthening. "Let's check it out."
As they left the inn, the excitement of the unknown filled the air. The path to the castle was set, and with it, the promise of new challenges and discoveries.
"Alright, let's prepare for what's ahead," Natsu said, leading the way. "We'll find out what's going on and take it from there."
Natsu, Lucy, and Happy returned to the inn later that afternoon. The innkeeper, seeing them approach, gestured for them to come closer. He looked around nervously, ensuring no one was eavesdropping.
"I've got more to tell you," he said in a low voice. "There's been strange lights and magical energy coming from the castle recently. People are scared to go near it."
Lucy leaned in, her eyes intense. "Do you have any idea what might be causing it?"
The innkeeper shook his head. "No one knows for sure. Some say it's the work of dark mages, others think it's the dragon. But whatever it is, it's powerful."
Natsu clenched his fists, determination evident on his face. "We'll find out. We're going to investigate tonight."
The innkeeper's eyes widened. "At night? That's dangerous. The castle is full of traps and who knows what else."
Lucy placed a reassuring hand on the counter. "We can handle it. We've faced worse before. Can you keep our plans a secret?"
The innkeeper nodded reluctantly. "I'll keep quiet. Just be careful. And if you need anything, let me know."
Natsu gave a confident grin. "Thanks, old man. We'll be back with answers."
As night began to fall, the trio prepared for their nighttime infiltration of the castle. The innkeeper had provided them with some supplies and wished them luck.
Natsu and Happy sat together, strategizing. "So, how do we approach this, Natsu?" Happy asked, fluttering his wings.
Natsu scratched his head. "We need to be stealthy. We can't just barge in. We'll scout the area first, see if there are any guards or traps."
Lucy was off to the side, checking her celestial keys and preparing for any magical defenses they might encounter. She didn't want to reveal her full capabilities just yet. 'They don't know how strong I really am,' she thought, a small smile playing on her lips.
"Hey, Lucy," Natsu called out. "Do you have any ideas on how we should handle this? I know you said you're not from a guild, but you seem pretty capable."
Lucy looked up, hiding her surprise at the compliment. "I think we should be cautious. The castle might be full of traps, and we don't know what kind of magic is at work here."
Happy fluttered excitedly. "Aye! We've got this! Let's go find that dragon!"
With their preparations complete, they set out towards the castle as the sun set. The air grew colder, and the shadows lengthened, casting an eerie glow over the landscape.
The castle loomed in the distance, its dark silhouette outlined against the night sky. Natsu, Lucy, and Happy approached cautiously, their senses on high alert.
"Remember," Natsu whispered, "stay quiet and be ready for anything."
Lucy nodded, gripping her keys tightly but discreetly. 'If it comes to it, I'll show them what I can do,' she thought, feeling a sense of excitement at the prospect.
**Scene 4: The Abandoned Castle**
The castle loomed ominously in the darkness, surrounded by overgrown vegetation and a sense of foreboding. The entrance was grand but eerily silent.
Natsu peered ahead. "Stay close," he whispered to Lucy and Happy.
As they neared the castle, they noticed strange symbols glowing faintly on the walls, pulsating with an otherworldly energy.
"What do you think those are?" Happy asked, his voice a hushed whisper.
"Some kind of magical ward," Lucy guessed. "We need to be careful. It could be a trap."
Natsu grinned, his eyes filled with excitement. "Let's see what's inside."
With that, they moved forward, ready to face whatever awaited them within the castle's dark, foreboding walls. They stealthily approached the castle and observed from a distance, spotting patrolling Dark Vortex guards and identifying a potential entry point.
They sneaked into the castle through a hidden passageway. The interior was dark, with only the faint glow of magical wards illuminating the way. The air was thick with tension and the scent of old stone and mystery.
As they navigated the castle's labyrinthine corridors, they overheard a conversation between Dark Vortex members about their recent experiments on dragons.
"Did you hear?" one guard whispered. "They've got a dragon in the holding chamber. The boss says it's crucial for our plans."
"Yeah, but it's dangerous," another replied. "We need to be careful. If it gets loose, we're done for."
Natsu's eyes widened. "A dragon in the holding chamber... We have to get there."
Lucy nodded, determination shining in her eyes. "Let's move quickly."
They located the holding chamber and found it heavily guarded with magical wards and traps.
"Leave the traps to me," Lucy said confidently.
Natsu looked at her in surprise. "You sure?"
Lucy nodded, a determined look in her eyes. She held up one of her celestial keys. "Open, Gate of the Nebula! Nebulon!"
In a flash of light, Nebulon appeared, his form shimmering with magical energy. "Lucy-sama , what do you need?"
"Disable those traps," Lucy commanded.
Nebulon nodded, using his Nebula Creation magic to generate clouds of energy that neutralized the traps. They then sneaked past the guards, finally reaching the dragon.
The creature was wounded and restrained, its eyes filled with pain and fear. Lucy began to work on freeing the dragon while Natsu and Happy kept watch.
"We're almost there," Lucy whispered, her hands deftly working on the restraints.
As they were freeing the dragon, the Dark Vortex enforcers realized the breach and prepared to attack.
An alarm sounded, echoing through the corridors. "Intruders!" a guard shouted. "They're in the holding chamber!"
Natsu's fists ignited with flames. "Get ready, Lucy! We've got company!"
Dark Vortex enforcers stormed the holding chamber, leading to a fierce clash. Natsu fought valiantly, flames roaring as he took down enemy after enemy. Happy used his agility to dodge attacks and support Natsu.
Lucy, having freed the dragon, turned to face the oncoming enforcers. "I'll show you what I can do," she muttered.
She didn't summon any celestial spirits this time. Instead, she clenched her fists and charged forward with a fierce determination. Her first punch sent an enforcer flying into the wall, the impact leaving a crater.
Natsu paused for a moment, eyes wide. 'Damn, I think she's stronger than Erza. She hasn't used any magic and yet she's overpowering multiple enemies.'
Lucy moved with incredible speed and precision. She delivered a powerful uppercut to one enforcer, knocking him out cold. Another tried to attack her from behind, but she spun around and landed a swift kick to his midsection, sending him sprawling.
"Lucy, behind you!" Happy shouted.
Without missing a beat, Lucy ducked under a swinging sword and countered with a punch to the attacker's jaw. She then grabbed another enforcer by the collar and slammed him to the ground with such force that the floor cracked.
Natsu couldn't help but be impressed. "Lucy, you're amazing!"
Lucy didn't reply, focused entirely on the fight. She weaved through the enforcers, her movements fluid and powerful. One by one, they fell to her fists, unable to keep up with her relentless assault.
An enforcer tried to cast a spell, but Lucy was faster. She closed the distance and knocked him out with a single punch before he could finish the incantation.
'She's unstoppable,' Natsu thought, his admiration growing. 'And she's not even using her magic.'
Lucy continued to plow through the enforcers, her fists a blur of motion. Each strike was precise and devastating. The remaining enforcers, seeing their comrades fall, began to hesitate.
Natsu seized the opportunity. "Let's finish this, Lucy!"
With a final, coordinated effort, they drove back the remaining enforcers. The dragon, now freed from its restraints, let out a powerful roar, adding to their strength.
"We did it!" Natsu cheered, flames dancing around him.
Lucy nodded, breathless but victorious. "Yeah, we did."
Happy fluttered around them, his voice filled with excitement. "Aye, we're the best team ever!"
