Chapter 26: I Only Want Enough to Live as I Pleased

"Stop lying," Edric glared at her.

"I am not. 

"I only want enough to live as I please, eat what I want, have a place to sleep, and buy what I need. And maybe a little extra for travel when I have a vacation. 

"I don't need what you are offering me, so I am not accepting it." 

Three years ago, if he had offered to give her such an amount of money and property instead of marrying her, maybe she would have gladly accepted since she used to wish she was born rich so she wouldn't have had to work hard and suffer.

But she knew that even if he did, she would not have been able to stomach receiving that much just because she was pregnant with his child. 

Loreen would have settled with an amount enough to help her with raising the child.

"When I was younger, I did wish quite a lot to have been born rich," Loreen admitted.
