Tang Moyu felt disgusted as she stared back at the old man. How could she not know? It was the look of a man pining after a woman who couldn't return his affection. She'd seen enough men sporting the same look in the past. But to think that Zhang Xianzhe had extended a hand to kill the woman he seemed to love surprised the empress. 

"Forget it. I don't want to know," she scoffed, ignoring the old man seated on the other side of the glass wall in front of her. How cheap was his love for Yan Qiuyu? If he truly loved her, he would have done his best not only to save her from death but also protected her. 

Was it because he was upset that Yan Qiuyu couldn't love him back? The empress wondered but decided that it didn't matter anymore. Yan Qiuyu had long been dead. The old man's crooked infatuation was something she didn't care to delve in further.
