"Call me Zack," he said again, a little more firmly this time, "I am doing very well. . . especially right now."

Calanthe was not stupid, and she could hear the underlying meaning behind his words, but there was no change in her expression as she turned around and began walking around the area, "Do you like these parties?"

Zack raised one eyebrow, following behind her, "They are quite interesting. . . But I find this one particularly agreeable."

Calanthe stopped for a second, then turned around to look at him, "Really? That is good to hear."

Then, she continued walking. From behind, Zack waited for a moment before asking, "Are you not going to ask me why?"

  Calanthe tilted her head to the side, "Perhaps, it is the food. . . or the garden. . . or the-"

"People," Zack cut her off, his word quick and quite soft, that it was hard to hear if he had even said something or not.
