As much as I loved Elaine and wished to see her succeed, right now, all of my focus was on Comet while he faced the angel that was directly after Mother's projection, though this time, he was clearly in a disadvantageous position, which only made me smile since that meant, once he's defeated I'll be free to deal with him as I please, and I couldn't wait for that moment to arrive. My heart beat with exhilaration every time he received an injury, when he lost an exchange, or when he was pushed back, as it simply brought me one step closer to the moment when I'd get to personally deal with him.
'Hehe, I don't think I've ever felt so happy and furious at the same time.' Mused Elif with a wrathful expression as he closely watched Comet with a faint smirk while his potent Qi filled the entire coliseum, casting it in a deep shade of purple.
To have the audacity to so blatantly disrespect my Mother while I'm watching… It's hard to express the degree of stupidity one must have to even think about such things, let alone fall through with it.
The moments ticked by in silence; not a single person within the whole coliseum uttered a word, not even a simple noise; they didn't even dare to breathe, more like they couldn't, given the sheer pressure I was exerting on everyone. The only noise that was present was the faint humming emitting from the spire and my soft breathing, yet even that was only heard by the people within the booth.
"Y-Your Highness!" Stated Mandy loudly as she swiftly flew towards Elif while her men followed right behind, all of them sporting dignified expressions.
"W-What happened!?" Exclaimed Mandy as she stood at the front of the booth, placing herself as the first line of defense against anyone or anything that dared to attack her prince.
"Silence!" Said Illumia sternly with an emotionless face, her words carrying the strength of her Qi as they reached Mandy's ears, causing her to instantly nod while realizing the gravity of the situation.
I paid my royal guards no heed and continued to stare silently at the spire, waiting for Comet's body to appear underneath it. As time passed, Cordelia, Tiamat, Aurora, and Lucifer all rapidly progressed through the spire, nearly reaching Mother's spot, yet I gave them little attention; I just wished time could move faster.
Every minute felt like an agonizing year of waiting, though seeing Comet finally reach his limit was like seeing the sunny sky after surviving a heavenly tribulation; it was fantastic, to say the least. Summoning Hokori, I unsheathed my blade, tossing its scabbard randomly, though Maxim happened to catch it before it touched the ground, not that I cared right now; infusing it with my Qi, causing it to give off a faintish purple smoke, I gazed at my blade, which was that of a high Spirit tier artifact.
A high Spirit-tier artifact may have been lackluster to what I've got access to, but this was perfect for me; anything higher than that, and I wouldn't be able to truly bring out all of the strength the artifact is capable of displaying.
With this blade, I'd soak it in Comet's blood before killing him; at this point, I cared little for any repercussions I'd receive; besides, it's not like I need to be here at the Realm Sect to display my might and superiority over everyone. I'm Crown Prince Elif August; nothing more needs to be said… I'm superior to all these little ants I play around with.
After several minutes of watching and patiently waiting, it finally happened; Comet received an attack that would've ended his life, and unfortunately for him, he couldn't use his Immortal Will; it would have zero effect on a projection with no ego or dao heart. However, instead of being killed, his body was teleported out of the spire with a flash of light as he lay on the ground in exhaustion.
I, on the other hand, didn't think about what to do next; I simply moved, following through with my desire to kill Comet. The instant his body appeared on the ground, I lunged towards him as fast as I could, pushing the use of my movement technique to its limit to reach him just a little bit quicker, coating Hokori in sword will, causing it to give a sharper and dangerous feeling, I zeroed all of my focus on Comet and slashed down with every ounce of strength I could muster as I used my most proficient technique, Heavenly Scar.
With but a slash of my sword, its purple aura vanished as it coalesced into one massive sword wave that gave nothing but the aura of death as it cut through everything its way while heading directly for Comet's neck. Only when my attack reached him did he finally notice it, causing his eyes to widen in horror and shock as he stared at his inevitable death, knowing there was nothing he could do… It was simply too late for him.
With a massive explosion, my attack reached him, yet instead of smiling, I felt an unreal amount of rage bubble within me as I knew he was still alive; after all, my attack should've cleanly sliced right through him and kept moving, not exploding upon impact.
"Charuli!" Stated Elif in pure rage as he clenched the hilt of Hokori, his body visibly shaking from the fury that circulated through his body, fuelling him with a seemingly endless amount of strength.
I hadn't managed to kill Comet, and he hadn't done anything to stop it, as it was too late for him to do so, but there was an ethereal dome of Qi protecting him from any harm and with but a simple glance, I instantly knew who that Qi belonged to… I also knew there was nothing I could do either; Comet would live, and it angered me.
I had nothing with me that was strong enough to break through that Qi dome; I'd need, at the very least, an Immortal-tier artifact, and the only one I had was a protective artifact, though even then, it would be far from enough, as not even Illumia and Maxim combined would be able to bring out one-percent of its true strength.
"Calm your rage, Prince Elif; it's not quite yet time." Said Charuli, his soft voice echoing throughout the entire coliseum, surprising and confusing many others, though the person in question simply smiled before chuckling.
"Hehehe." Said Elif with faint laughter as he glanced at Comet; though none thought he found this situation amusing, his very being reeked of unbridled fury, one that even a member of the Eyeless Clan could see.
After a while, I eventually stopped laughing, though Charuli never once spoke again and simply kept a protective dome around Comet while he stood up, seemingly surprised he was still alive.
"I-I'm alive? I'm alive! Hahaha, fuck you, Elif, now call my Daddy Comet, and then maybe I'll forgive you!" Remarked Comet in surprise as he rapidly touched his body, checking for injuries, only for him to laugh loudly while pointing at Elif, further mocking him before arrogantly raising his head.
Ignoring Comet, I took a deep breath and retracted all of my Qi back into my body, freeing everyone from my suppression.
"Hehe, that's right, conceded to your Daddy, little Elif. Also, don't worry either; I'm not interested in your mother as Elaine is far cuter and has a much sexier body, so I'll make sure to please her in your stead after I kill you." Stated Comet with a wicked grin as he eyed Elif; having already figured out he was untouchable, so he proceeded to use this chance and mock him to his heart's content.
Shifting my focus to the stands, I eyed the area where the Phoenix Clan resided, spotting Hyata and Spica, though I paid no head to that woman.
"Hayat… Think long and hard before you respond, but do remind me, does the Phoenix Clan claim Comet as one of their own?" Asked Elif with indifference as he stared at Hayat, who nervously gulped while glancing between him and Comet.
"I-I-" Said Hayat hesitantly, though he wasn't able to continue speaking as he and every other phoenix were forced to their knees when an overbearing pressure nearly crushed their dao hearts.
"I'll ask once more, Hayat… Does the Phoenix Clan Claim Comet as their own?" Asked Elif forcefully as he narrowed his eyes at Hayat, who could barely stay conscious amidst the pressure of his Immortal Will
Comet tried to protect the Phoenix Clan with his Immortal Will as I sensed it surged towards me, though it came to an abrupt halt when I slammed my own Immortal Will against his; he may have gotten stronger, but so have I, and unlike him, I don't rely on some artifact to increase my strength.
"B-Bastard! Let them go! Your problem is with me! Not them!" Yelled Comet angrily as he glared at Elif, who continued ignoring him like he never existed in the first place.
"Well?" Said Elif as he looked at Hayat, who gritted his teeth and clenched his fist before submissively lowering his head.
"O-On behalf of I, Hayat R-Renata, H-Heir to the P-Phoenix Clan, t-the C-Clan doesn't claim Comet as one of our own! W-When you visited, P-Prince Elif, h-he was merely a guest, t-that's all!" Stated Hayat through gritted teeth, his loud voice echoing throughout the entire coliseum, allowing everyone to hear his words, though none mocked or belittled him as everyone knew the consequence if he dared to protect Comet.
