Slashing toward the monstrous creature once more, the purple sword wave landed upon his chest, and even though I'd managed to improve my control after every single attack, it seemed to make no difference whatsoever; only a shallow cute atop his chest would remain, while he continued to open the portal slowly.
At this rate, I was just wasting my life away as every single attack cost thousands of years of my life, if not more, and all it managed to do was create shallow cuts that didn't even cause any actual damage other than making him bleed. However, I also couldn't let up either since if I did that, he'd use that chance to enter this realm; the portal was already large enough for him to squeeze through, and the only thing keeping him at bay was my continuous attacks, and the instant I stop, he'll come barging through.
'What can I do here!? I've got no remaining talisman; it's not like they would help much, as they can only display the power of a peak Half-step Celestial, and my strength is far higher than that. The same logic applies to my artifacts; no matter how much Qi I imbue them with, they can't exceed their predetermined limit.' Pondered Elif with an intense expression as he continuously attacked the powerful Nether monster, not stopping for a second since that was all the creature would need.
I wasn't going to be able to stop him; I've already determined that I'm only temporarily holding him back. However, while this sounds like it would be even harder to do, I might be able to kill him; despite this creature's robust physique, it still has weak points, like the eyes, which lead a pathway directly to its brain. Considering how he's not attempting to defend himself from any of my attacks, there is a chance I can catch him off guard; the only problem now is, which technique should I use to do so?
'Should I use Heavenly Pierce or Gyakusatsu? Heavenly Pierce will be stronger, but the problem with that is even though it's slightly stronger than Gyakusatsu, I'll be forced to stop attacking for a short moment, and if I do that, there is a good chance, he'll use that respite to enter this realm. Once that happens and he's no longer required to keep the portal open, I'm done for; I'm only lasting this long because he's not retaliating.' Thought Elif with a frown as he looked at the monster's eyes, which were staring directly into his purple eyes.
I was more confident in using Heavenly Pierce, not to mention it was slightly stronger, but under no circumstances could I give the monster a chance to enter this realm, which meant I'd be forced to use Gyakusatsu. Which did have its pros given the situation; I could use the technique while still attacking, and that was about it, but that's all that mattered. It was a little weaker, but in all honestly, I could easily make for that weakness by just using more Qi, which would deplete the amount of time I could use the forbidden technique, but it was okay; I just couldn't mess this chance up, I will be given only on chance most likely, and It needed to count.
While attacking the monster, which I'm pretty sure is a Demon or at least previously a Demon before being corrupted by Nether Qi, I released my left hand from Hokori's hilt and brought it to my side as I began to converge a substantial amount of Qi to my index finger; causing a small, glowing, purple sphere of incredibly dense Qi to manifest.
Once I was ready, I sliced toward the monster, blocking his view with a heavenly scar, and quickly outstretched my left hand, firing a dense purple beam toward the monster, aiming specifically for its eye. Just like usual, when the heavenly scar landed atop his body, other than slightly pushing him back, it did next to nothing; however, it was merely a diversion from the actual attack. The instant after the purple sword wave dispersed, the purple beam appeared a mere hair's breadth before the monster's eye; even with its superior cultivation base, it could only widen its eyes before the purple beam penetrated his eye.
Immediately after, the monster grabbed his punctured eye in pain; seeing that, although my goal wasn't fully achieved, I increased my flurry of attacks, even going so far as to utilize both Fairy Sword Dance and Heavenly Scar, completely disregarding my Qi consumption. With only one of his hands on the portal and my relentless assault, I was pushing him back even further than before; I could vividly see my attacks were causing his grip to loosen, which only served to increase my already potent vigor.
'C'mon, just a little bit more!' Thought Elif with a hardened gaze as he increased his output to his absolute maximum, slashing so fast that his attacks looked more like a continuous purple beam instead of separate sword arcs.
Yet, just when I thought I was about to succeed, he suddenly looked at me with his remaining eye and opened his mouth as he converged a tremendous amount of Qi toward his mouth. I didn't know what he was about to do, though I knew it wasn't something possibly beneficial to me; I didn't bother with it and just continued attacking, hoping one of my attacks would finally cause him to relinquish his grasp on the portal.
"ROAAAARRR!!" Yelled the monster as he sent a wave of Qi towards Elif, pushing all of his attacks back toward him.
Seeing all of my attacks and his attack fly toward me, I wanted to stay; I needed to hold my ground and stay put, yet I knew I couldn't. If I remained standing, I'd die, that I was certain of; there were just simply too many of my own attacks, and even if I managed to destroy them all, I still needed to worry about the monster's attack coming right behind them, which wasn't something I could withstand, especially not in my current state.
I was in a lose-lose situation; if I stood my ground, I'd be overwhelmed and die, allowing the monster to freely enter this realm. If I moved, the monster would enter the realm, and I'd be killed shortly after that. I could do nothing against a Celestial; even with my immaculate talent and strength, the gap was still too big.
So reluctantly, I moved out of the way, evading all the numerous attacks that threatened to kill me, though because of that, the monster started to enter this realm. Once the attacks were finally out of the way, without any hesitation, I flew directly toward the monster, who was almost fully inside this realm.
Colliding with the monster, I stabbed Hokori as deep as I could into his body, which, for the record, wasn't very far, and tried to push him back into the Nether realm, even going so far as to enter with him if it meant denying him access into this realm.
"I don't care if I die, but as long as I'm alive, no one will harm Elaine!" Yelled Elif with an indomitable conviction as a fearsome light shone in his eyes while he grabbed the portal's edge, pushing him and the monster back into the Nether dimension.
"Arrghh; you stupid ELF!" Yelled the monster in anger, seemingly fed up with Elif as he powerfully hit his back, causing him to nearly pass out.
With just one attack, he broke my back and ruptured nearly every organ in my abdomen; in fact, I could hardly feel my legs right now, yet this only caused me to grit my teeth as I ignored the pain and pushed even harder, still, to my dismay, it wasn't enough. He again punched my back, causing a wave of pain to emerge while my strength started to wane. Sensing the monster raise his hand for a third time, just as he was about to collide with my body, very well possibly killing me, a large black wave of Qi suddenly appeared from nowhere and landed on his arm, creating a deep gash.
Seeing that, normally, I would've been elated, but right now, I was the complete opposite as I knew who that attack belonged to; just like I thought, I sensed Elaine, with the same cultivation base as me, a peak Half-step Celestial, emerge from the void, nearly on the verge of collapsing from physical and Qi exhaustion.
"E-ELAINE!!" Yelled Elif as he looked at Elaine, yet unlike usual, where his words were filled with love and affection, they currently contained nothing but anger and worry.
"B-Brother; I-I've come to help!" Replied Elaine, and she fearlessly attacked him despite the monster's presence.
More than anything right now, I wanted to tell Elaine to fly away, but I wasn't the chance, as I suddenly felt the monster grab hold of my arm that was holding Hokori and squeeze, snapping my arm in two like it was a twig. Holding back my grunts of pain, I tried to push deeper through the portal, yet with my waning strength, it was proving useless as he started entering the realm, completely ignoring Elaine's attacks.
'D-Dammit!' Thought Elif as the monster yanked him by his broken arm, nearly ripping his other arm off that was tightly holding onto the portal.
As the monster dangled me in the air just before his face, I tried attacking, yet none of my punches or kicks did anything to him; he merely smirked before throwing me toward Elaine, flinging the two of us into the distance.
"Hehe, finally!" Yelled the monster as he fully stepped into the Treasury realm, causing Elif and Elaine to display ugly expressions.
