Capítulo 32: Boss Fight
"So the dungeon is there?" Brody asked, staring at where Andrew was pointing at. "I can't see anything."
"Are you two playing with us?" Ezekiel asked, shooting a glance at Edward and Andrew.
Sighing, Andrew walked forward. Before their eyes, he fell to the ground, disappearing. Edward followed him, falling into the dungeon. He looked around only to find Andrew already going toward the second room.
"Who is Elizabeth to you?" Edward asked, rushing up to him. "Families? Old friends?"
"Stop asking me questions!" Andrew snapped, glaring at Edward. "We came to kill the boss, not talk about Elizabeth." He finished, continuing walking toward the boss's room.
They silently walked past the empty second room, only stopping at the door to the boss room. Leonardo and the others caught up to them, all staring into the boss's room.
"So a two-boss dungeon?" Emma asked, turning to Leonard. "Didn't you fight a boss like this in Elder Ring?"
"Elden Ring." Leonardo corrected before nodding. "And yes, I did. The Godkin Apostle and Godskin Noble."
"These two don't look like Godskin or nobles." Ezekiel said, chuckling, "We the levels we got from killing those humans, we should be able to handle them." He casually said, looking at the party screen. "14k EXP was enough to get all of us from level 1 to 9. But I guess Edward and Elizabeth are a few thousand EXP away from level 10, while I need 16k EXP."
Ignoring Ezekiel's remark, Brody turned to Edward. "What was the level of the mobs?"
"Two and three. I assume the bosses would be level five." Edward answered, "So, yes. This boss would be a walk in the park."
"I doubt they will only be using water jets or beams, so heads up," Elizabeth added, earning a nod. Everyone was still mad at her for what she caused, but they decided now wasn't the time to discuss it.
Edward told the others how to leave the dungeon, just in case, and not wasting any more time, Andrew stepped through the door. Suddenly, a strange force pushed the others outside the dungeon as a shimmering barrier had blocked the path out of the room.
"Like a true boss fight. We can't leave till we kill them." Leonardo said, touching the shimmering barrier.
Laughing, Ezekiel walked forward, "This will be easy--"
Before he could finish his sentence, one of the slimes at the elevated platform at the other end of the room shot a blue beam of ice towards them, covering the ground below it in a blue blanket of ice as it flew.
The eight quickly moved out of the way, some jumping to the right and others to the left, causing the beam to hit the shimmering barrier. The ice spread, covering the barrier and the wall beside it in ice.
"What the fuck!" Ezekiel shouted, his heart beating out of his chest. "That would have frozen us solid!"
The other slime bounced into the air, its eyes on the eight humans. Water covered its body as it lunged at the group on the right at a speed that made it almost invisible.
Brody was quick to react, going to the front of the group and crossing his arm across his chest. The slime slammed into him, sending him flying through the air, both of his arms broken.
'20 points on defense, and I couldn't handle one hit from a slime.' He thought, slamming into a wall and sliding to the ground. He looked down at both of his arms beside him, finding their bones crushed, with some puncturing his skin. "Fuck!" He groaned, holding back tears of pain.
"Brody!" Andrew shouted, running to him. Noticing his arms, Andrew couldn't imagine what kind of pain this man could be going through. "Hold on." Picking him up, he quickly carried Brody behind one of the six large pillars that held up the ceiling.
The others also ran to hide behind a pillar, fear running through them. "Aren't these level five monsters!?" Ezekiel screamed in horror, completely taking back his words of the boss being easy.
The slime still at the platform closed its eyes, using seismic sense. Opening its eyes once more, two massive dense balls of ice formed. The two ice balls flew in three different directions, each going for a different pillar.
Emma had noticed this, quickly pulling her hiding partner, Elizabeth, with her as they ran out from behind the pillar. The ice ball made contact with their respective target with a loud boom, causing the entire room to shake as crystals fell from the ceiling.
"Wha--" Edward stuttered, looking up to see a huge piece of ice falling towards him. He quickly rolled out of the way, dodging certain death.
Michael, who hid with Edward behind that pillar, was too slow, causing a huge chunk of the crumbling pillar to crush his left leg. "ARRRGGG!" He screamed in agony, pain surging through his body. The sight caused his stomach to turn and stars to cloud his vision.
Now out from hiding, the second slime coated his body with water, shooting as a blue blur toward Emma and Elizabeth. They turned to the side, watching their doom approaching too fast for them to dodge, but Leonardo managed to pull them out of the way. This caused the slime to slam into the pillar Ezekiel was hiding behind, which slowly crumbled.
"Fuck fuck fuck fuck!" Ezekiel shouted, running out from behind the pillar only for an Ice Beam to almost hit him. "Enhanced Speed!" He shouted. A blue aura went through his body as he activated the skill he got at level five, temporarily boosting his speed by 10%.

With his newfound speed, he jumps to the side, dodging the attack with a hairbreadth, a piece of his hair freezing. His sudden change of direction caused him to trip on his feet, falling face-first to the ground. He quickly stood up, running to hide behind the pillar where Andrew had dropped the injured Brody.
Andrew, on the other hand, had run to Michael. Grabbing the rock, he groaned and gritted his teeth as he picked it, throwing it to the side. Picking up the fainted Michael, he ran to put him beside Brody, finding Ezekiel.
"Go out there and fight, you coward!" Andrew shouted at Ezekiel, who vigorously shook his head.
"You mean, die!?" Ezekiel shouted back just as a boom echoed through the room. The ice slime had shot an ice ball to another pillar. "Fuck. Are these level five bosses? We are all level 9, and we are about to die!"
Out of the six pillars, only one was left standing, littering the room was now littered with ice and earth. The ice slime stood tall on the elevated platform, with the hydro slime on the ground in front of it. With no more hiding spots Edward, Leonardo, Emma, and Elizabeth stood out in the open.
"We are fighting a battle we won't win," Leonardo mumbled in a fearful voice.
The hydro slime coated its body in water, charging at the five of them. They were now ready and dodged by jumping to the side. Elizabeth quickly ran to hide behind a large chunk of earth, her mind entering overdrive. Her eyes darted around the room, gathering every information she could. She activated her level five ability, increasing her thinking speed.

With this ability and her intelligence at 22 due to the passive ability she gained after being the third to reach 20 points in intelligence, which permanently increases intelligence by 10%, she quickly noticed something.
Though they looked similar, there was a difference she or the others didn't notice before. Out of both slims, only one had a core, the ice slime, and the core encased in a thick layer of ice. The other was coreless.
"Of course, you will be hiding, like that pussy Ezekiel." Andrew's voice came from behind her, momentarily distracting her.
He looked towards the battlefield, noticing Edward dodging the beam from the ice slime while the hydro slime charged at the tired Emma. Leonardo leaped in front of her, his arm forming an X in front of his chest, taking the charge from the slime. Like Brody, he was flung backward, bouncing on the ground multiple times before sliding to a stop many meters away. His arm was even worse than Brody's as he coughed out a mouth full of blood.
"Leo!" Emma shouted, running to check if he was alright.
"Shit," Andrew mumbled, going to distract the slime. As he left, he heard Elizabeth mumble, "Focus on the ice slime's core. Destroying it would kill both slimes."
