Capítulo 124: Ch. 124: Frieza's Third Form! The Tyrant's Devastating Counterattack!
When the winds from Gohan's assault finally died down, I was finally able to look for the others with my eyes. I'd been keeping my mind tuned to their energies, but that was different than actually seeing them for myself.
Unsurprisingly, Raditz and Piccolo weren't hurt. It seemed that Raditz had been forced to hold the weaker Krillin by the collar of his Battle Armor to make sure that the forces hadn't tossed him aside like a leaf in the wind, but other than the bald dwarf's indignation, there were no injuries to the three of them, and they were flying in the air at around the same height as me, the land beneath them destroyed by the tsunami that had erupted as a result of Gohan and Frieza's clash of energies.
As for Vegeta and Nappa, I was pretty sure that the elements hadn't been what caused their injuries. Nappa looked kind of like roadkill... or like a fighter jet had crash landed on his face while he wasn't paying attention, if you were scaling with strength. His armor had a huge hole in the chest area, and a huge bruise was attempting to fill in for it. Other than that, he just had a few nicks and bruises, and a busted lip.
As for Vegeta, he barely looked alive. He was slung over Nappa's shoulder like a bag of potatoes, and I was fairly sure that it was because he was too beaten up to have been able to fly otherwise. His armor was in tatters, and every exposed bit of skin was covered in his own blood. Pieces of his sides were missing, as if someone had just gouged holes out, and you could literally see pieces of his ribs sticking out from them if you looked carefully. It was rather disgusting to look at. Honestly, looking at the guy, it was surprising that he was still alive. Likely the only thing keeping him alive was his Saiyan pride, and his consciousness was coming and going. Both of them were likely going to be out of the fight from now on.
"What are you looking at us for!? He's still alive in there!" Nappa shouted at me, catching me glancing at him and Vegeta.
He was right. Looking over at the crater that Frieza'd been thrown in, the first thing you'd see was Gohan flying above it, breathing hard from exertion. His power level had dropped down to a resting million, but it paled in comparison to the power that was coming out of the hole below him.
Slowly, clapping began to echo through the now-silent landscape. It's origin? The white and purple monster slowly, leisurely floating out of the crater.
I immediately realized how Frieza had survived Gohan's attack.
The Frost Demon's skull had elongated, and his horns and tail had grown bigger, but not much else had changed with Frieza's outward body. Frieza had finally transformed into his third form in order to weather Gohan's blast.
Fortunately for us, the blast hadn't been totally ineffective against Frieza's third form. The Frost Demon's white skin was marred with purple scratches in place, so it was clear that the attack had done at least a little damage, but I could feel the spirits of those around me sink a bit in response to how little damage Gohan's incredibly powerful blast had done, especially since we all knew that Gohan's incredible strength tended to be a one-off deal. But my spirits were still burning high. This was all a part of my plan.
"That was rather impressive." Frieza admitted, wiping a bit of purple blood from his lip with his hand. Taking a moment to look at the blood that he'd just wiped off, a shadow of a smirk played across Frieza's lips for a moment before disappearing. "It's been a long while since someone's actually managed to make me bleed... I had no intentions of going so far as to use this form when we first started to battle, but it seems that I was underestimating you monkeys quite a bit." Frieza's aura flared as he finished his sentence, "WELL NO MORE!" He shouted, "I was going to kill the girl first, but it seems that you've forced my hand! ALLOW ME TO SHOW YOU WHY YOUR POWER PALES IN COMPARISON TO THE ABSOLUTE MIGHT OF LORD FRIEZA!" He screamed, his aura flaring in response to his rage.
"GOHAN!" I shouted, realizing what was about to happen. Springing into action, I used about half of the energy that I'd been saving up from Frieza's tail barrage to nigh-instantaneously appear in front of my brother, just as the Frost Demon made his move. We both arrived in front of Gohan at almost the same time, and that clearly made Frieza incredibly angry.
"YOU LITTLE PEST!" Frieza shouted at me as I flew in front of my brother to protect him. In the next instant, I was throwing up blood and plunging headfirst into the ocean, having had no clue what appendage Frieza used to hit me, even with my energy sense.
But Frieza wasn't done with me yet, and I could tell that subconsciously just by the energy in the air. My very soul was telling me that Frieza'd turned his attention entirely from Gohan to me, and I needed to run, so I did.
Turning my Grey Mode to a multiplier of 13 just for a moment, I coughed up blood again as I zoomed deeper underwater in a random direction. Just a moment later, my immediate reaction was proved good, for the spot that I'd just landed in literally seemed to implode as Frieza used a terrifying amount of energy in a wide ranged attack. I could feel the soles of my shoes almost vaporize from the heat of Frieza's energy, before the water began to flow back into place, pulling me along with it in a rip current that my own power was nowhere near enough to fight against at the moment, my Grey Mode having dropped down to a multiplier of eight or so after I'd abused it.
