"I don't understand," Mu Chen raised a brow, confusion evident in his eyes.
"I eavesdropped on Xiaogang and Tang San's conversation. Xiaogang still insists that because of our blood relation, he can't be with me. Even if I don't care, he does. To get Xiaogang to break free from societal constraints and accept me, stirring his jealousy by pretending to date you is the only way I can think of to overcome his prejudices," Liu Erlong explained with a deep sigh.
"But why me? Couldn't you ask Flender?" Mu Chen asked.
"No, he can't. He's always liked me. When Xiaogang pursued me, I knew Flender had feelings for me. Asking him to pretend to be my boyfriend would be cruel," Liu Erlong said.
Mu Chen nodded in agreement.
Flender did indeed have deep feelings for Liu Erlong, so much so that he had stepped back to let Yu Xiaogang pursue her, burying his own feelings.
"What about Dai Mubai? Why not him?" Mu Chen continued.
