Capítulo 3: The real Cain
(Alex pov)
seeing that the mana had calmed down I walked into the observation room I saw Alice and David in shock as they looked at 0-prime, And I could see why. Looking down I saw what looked like a person but with a few things wrong like the tail and horns as well as slightly longer limbs, but the most shocking thing was the fact that mana seemed to flow around it like it was the most natural thing to happen. "Alice, what the fuck happens just then?" "First, language. Second I think the failed test from the bio-experiment team let him freely change his body." Alice stated "cool, but why does mana love it like it's their child all of a sudden?" seeing that mana seemed to ruck to it like it was their long-lost son I asked the most knowledgeable person in the room about this matter "that we'll have to test him for" hearing the blank answer I realized I wouldn't get a good answer so I just walked out and to my room to have a nice long sleep to try and forget about this
(Cain pov 3 weeks later)
Walking up I noticed that my body had changed to what I had made in that white space, looking around I saw the mess that my cell was. It looked like a bomb had gone off and said not enough so it went off a hundred more times. Checking my body I could feel the mana flowing around and entering me freely, I also felt that I could control it if I wished so I tried to do what first came to mind and made a rock. Feeling the mana flow out of me and mixing with the ambient mana a small stone started to form in the air in front of me at a slow but steady pace, after I let the stone grow to about the size of my fist I stopped.
After the stone fell to the floor I picked it up and studied it. "yep that's a rock" testing how much my body had changed I tried to crush the rock and to my surprise, it was crushed without effort.
Looking up to see the door open I saw Alice and a guard enter "damn, what the hell happened here?" "hi, Alice" seeing that the guard wasn't violent like Alex I stood up and said hi to Alice "what is that?" seeing the powder of the stone from just now Alice asked me what it was, "thought I might try something out" "so you made a rock just to turn it to dust like it was nothing?" the guard asked I blankly answered "yes."
"Wow, you have no idea what you just did do you?" seeing how strait faced I was when I answered his question the guard seemed to be shocked "I used mana to make a rock to see if I could, then I crushed it to see if I could and apparently, I could." as the guard just walked out of the cell and just said "yell if you need me." Alice walked up to me to check how I was.
"hay, Cain." in a lab deeper in the building Alice was testing me using various pieces of equipment to see how I had changed "yes?" "have I ever told you about my brother?" realizing that this would take a while I answered "a little." hearing my answer Alice looked up at me and said, "how much have I told you?" "you've told me that he was about 20 when he died and that he was a scientist just like you but he studied diseases so he could cure people" thinking back to when Alice showed me her photo of the real Cain I told her what she told me.
"well, that wasn't all. Back when I and my brother were kids our mother was sick and our dad was always at work so I and him would read the books we had at our house and find out that we had a talent for medicine. As time went on our mother started to get worse and our dad died in an accident so we started working part-time jobs outside of school. Finding out that he could find a cure for our mother he became a scientist while I started doing biology as I found that fun and I was good at it. After a few years, we graduated and he found out that he had the same illness as our mo 'mana rejection' something that at that time had no cure and was 100% lethal"
hearing the story I saw Alice start to cry so trying to comfort her I put my hand on her shoulder as I felt that would be the right thing to do. "you don't have to tell me if you don't want to" "thanks."
continuing with the story she said "after finding out he had mana rejection he doubled down on his efforts to find a cure for our mother and now him too. As time went on he slowly progressed in his research and was getting closer to finding a cure but at the same time, the stress and overwork made his condition worsen at a rapid pace. Seeing that he was going to die if he kept this up I started helping him so he could rest a little more. After about a month or so we made a breakthrough in our research, after looking deeper into it I noticed that people with mana rejection had deformed mana circuits in a way that when mana enters them it would clash with itself resulting in harm to the body."
After saying this she brought up a picture of those veins from earlier next to ones that looked twister and wrong. "the one on the left is my mana circuit and the one on the right is my brothers." looking at them I computed them into memory as it was something I had decided to do now that my brain had been enhanced. "after finding this out we begin trying to find a way to fix someone's mana circuits and after a while, we realized it would be impossible to do so as we would need to rework the entire body to match the new pathways or it would result in instant death every time no matter what. Realizing this we started trying to find different ways as our mother had started dying.
Soon I and Cain had a thought. 'If the mana is the problem why don't we get rid of it?' so after some testing, we tried to remove the mana from the body of a lab rat that had mana rejection. After the trial, it had worked but mana began to enter the rat again so we tried to stop it.
Later on, we found out that by cutting the circuit in certain places we could stop the flow of mana going into a person. Slowly we began to go into human trials but there was a problem. Our mom had gotten worse. In just one week she had gone from being able to live for about three years longer to only five months. Seeing that she wasn't going to live much longer we decided to do our surgery on her."
After a long pause, Alice continued. "but it failed. Halfway into the surgery, she died." seeing her getting visibly distressed I said "you don't have to continue the story you can stop here." looking up at me and wiping her eyes she said, "no, no I'm fine I can keep going." "hearing her say this I responded with "no, you're not fine. Your crying and getting sadder as the story goes on. you don't have to keep telling me this, you can just stop" hearing me say this she paused for a second and looked down.
After about a minute she looked back up and continued with the story "after we failed in trying to save our mom we both fell into depression. For days we did nothing but just stay home and morn. On the day that the funeral was scheduled cain told me that he had to do something. Me and him ended up fighting because he said he would go to the funeral but now he was canceling. After the argument, I end of up going to the funeral by myself, but when I got home... He was dead too."

Black_rabbit24x I changed my mind and will be keeping it in first person and download Grammarly as one of you had suggested so it might look a little bit better. I also went back and updated the last two chapters so they might look a little bit better if you want to read them again. And if you could please share this with your friend so we can get this out there and more people can read it.
