My eyes widened as I read the page and gasped out louder. 

Suddenly, everything clicked in my mind. No wonder Rhys had been so furious when I carelessly tossed the dagger to the floor. That wasn't just any dagger; it was the one Slyvia had gifted him, the one that was more precious to him than his life. 

With a sigh, I turned to the next page bracing myself for what I was about to read. 

Day 3290:  It's been a torturous 24 HOURS since I left my angel's side. I miss her like the sun misses the moon! Even as I write this, a wild yearning builds in my chest like a caffeinated squirrel trapped in a cage. 

How was I going to endure the long five years of madness? The thought alone was enough to make me consider running headfirst into a wall!
