7.32% Devil's Eyes / Chapter 17: Say something

Capítulo 17: Say something

After Xavier dropped me I went straight to my room not wanting to answer any questions of my parents. Luckily I had some bandages and cleaning aseptic liquid in my washroom so I cleaned up my wound and bandaged it.

After changing I came to bed and checked my phone. There were several missed calls from Sandi and an unknown number including some text messages. I opened the one from the unknown number first.

<Unknown: Hey bells, it's ravs here!

Just gotta say I saw your video. You just killed it bruh, so proud of you;)>

I remembered then that I gave him my number when he asked but forgot to ask for his. I knew what video he was talking about. After all, it is the hot talk at school right now. I typed back a thank you before checking out Sandi's. They were occasional ones asking about what I am doing and why I am not picking up her calls. I decided to visit her tomorrow because I had a long story to tell her.

After a while I was lying on my bed thinking about Xavier and Alex's feud and about what happened today when I heard a beep on my phone. I checked the message and it was a picture from Raven. The picture showed him and Dylan making a funny face showing thumbs up. I smiled at the picture until I saw a figure beside them.

I sat up straight and zoomed the picture. It was definitely Xavier but what caught my attention was a gun in his hand. He was standing far away and his figure was blurred but I recognized him from the clothes he was wearing today. Also the gun was not clearly visible but upon concentrating you can tell it was a gun.

Or maybe I was just out of my mind...

Maybe I was hallucinating...

I took a picture of my face with a victory fingers sign on my one eye and sent him that. Also, I texted him to check the photo he sent me hinting him that something is off about it. My suspicions were confirmed when he texted me back requesting me to delete the picture and to not talk about it to anyone else.

I texted back reassuring him that I will not and also that I deleted the picture because I really did. I mean it was just scaring me more. What is he? A murderer? What else would you do with a gun?

But he looked so harmless...

Maybe we should not always trust what we see, eyes can lie.

The rest of the night was pretty restless.

Next day I woke up late because it was Sunday. I texted Sandi telling her that I will be at her house after a couple of hours so that she won't go anywhere.

I changed into a comfy short dress and sneakers, pulling my hair into a ponytail and wearing glasses. I was not in the mood of wearing contacts. Also when I will be eighteen, which will be soon I will have surgery so I will not wear them anymore. I will miss my matchy matchy contacts but what's better than getting your vision back.

I danced while coming downstairs mimicking Cinderella even though I know this kind of action can lead me to my doom but it will be worth it.

Fortunately I reached the breakfast table in one piece and sat down singing good morning to mom and dad.

"What's up with you today, girl?" mom asked, giving me suspicious glances.

"Na na nothing," I sang to her, blinking my eyes.

Dad and mom laughed at me. They are used to my changing moods. Sometimes I am like the most happiest puppy jumping and singing everywhere without any reason and sometimes the most sad and depressed teen trying to commit suicide. That also without any reason.

Just kidding!

I never tried committing suicide or something like that. I am just being dramatic here. But that's true that I feel sad and down without any reason sometimes. But I learned in my psychology class that it's how the human brain works. Normal humans cannot be happy 24/7. It's just if they choose to show that they are happy always. Otherwise everyone experiences all types of emotions including joy, stress, anxiety and depression sometimes for a reason and sometimes without any reason. So whenever I feel like that way I know it will pass too.

We teens take everything too seriously without realizing that there are bigger things and problems in the world than our little drama. Life's too short to soak up everything in your head. Just let it take its time to float and then let it go. We will be laughing at it with some old friends at some point of our lives. That's my personal theory.

I finished my breakfast and chatted with mom and dad for some time and then left home. I was preparing myself to tell Sandi about what happened yesterday. I can't keep anything from her but I was nervous how she would react after what Alex told us.

Soon I was in Sandi's room sitting on a bean bag in her room. Her mom bought two of these for us. Pink one for me and purple for her. She loves purple. Everything in her room is purple with hints of pink and white. Mine is all pastel pink and white. Our rooms kind of look similar but I love hers more.

She was bringing us snacks while I was jumping on the bean bag. It calms down my nerves.

"Bell stop," Sandi said as soon she entered the room and saw me jumping on her precious bean bag.

"Nope," I continued jumping. I like annoying her.

"Stop it or I will make you." she said while setting down the snacks on the table.

"Okay, go ahead and kill me. I never thought this thing would be more important than me..I...I never thought you will prefer it's life over mine." I said dramatically falling on the floor.

"You are helpless," she said pulling me towards her bed. "Now tell me everything."

I sat with her on the bed and spilled everything excluding the picture part. After all I promised Raven. But my tongue was burning from the burden of the secret. Nevertheless I kept my mouth shut.

She was not giving off any expression or words and I was afraid. It's not like she will judge me for anything but sometimes her silence scares me because that only happens when she is about to drop a bomb.

"Say something Sandi..say something..your silence is eating me up." I said again being dramatic.

"I think he likes you." so she finally dropped a bomb.

"What the f**k Sandi?" I punched her lightly, "I was expecting something more sensible from you." I lied because I was not.

"Oh so why do you think 'the Xavier devil Millers' helped you and then dropped you home. Also, I should add the detail of picking you up in his arms." she said giggling.

"Oh please Sandi, he said that it was his apology for hitting me. But that's not the point here. I am worried about Alex, how will he react?" I looked at her with a serious face.

"I just don't know bell but I think there is something missing. I mean when I asked Alex that if he had asked Xavier about everything he said that he didn't. He thinks what he saw was enough but sometimes what we are seeing is not true. I know I can be wrong but it's just my opinion that there is something missing in the story." she said.

"Exactly," I replied determined, "And we will find out what's missing."

"How?"

"We will ask Raven and Dylan simply." I told her like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"But if they don't want to tell us?" she asked, looking skeptical.

"They will, at least Raven will. He is also a friend now so we will try and clear up misunderstandings between Alex and them." I told her.

"If there are any."

"I am sure there are," I replied. "By the way what's up with you and Raven?" I gave her my skeptical glance.

"Who? Me? No, nothing." She replied almost too instantly. But the blush on her face was obvious.

"You can't fool me girl, go and see your face in the mirror. It's red like an apple." I told her, smiling. She can't be able to hold it in for long. I know she has a crush on him. Friends know things better even before you realize them yourself.

She hid her face in her hands. Something she does when she is nervous or trying to hide something. But it was of no use now.

Rest of the day passed by with me and her talking about our plan to find the hidden story and watching Netflix. We decided to visit Alex in the evening so we did. He was feeling better. He told us that he will be coming to school next week. Honestly, I was missing him so much.

I can't wait until he is back.
