I woke up to a white ceiling and a blinding light.
Where am I?
Maybe dead!
Why can't I remember how I died?
Maybe these are the side effects of being a dead person.
Yeah that's it.
I closed my eyes back and let myself float towards the sky until I hear a voice or two.
"She had some bruises on her arms and legs and a minor scratch on her head." someone told someone.
"Why did she pass out?" someone asked someone.
"Oh, maybe it's because of sudden shock or falling on her head that caused her to lose her consciousness. Her head and legs may hurt later but I assure you there is nothing serious to worry about." someone replied.
I was still in a daze when I opened my eyes slowly and asked them if they were dead too. They looked shocked at first and then burst out laughing. Eventually, everything started coming back to my silly head.
I was hit by a car...
those eyes...
and then nothing.
Immediately I turned my head towards the laughing figures who were looking at me with amused expressions. I didn't see that pair of eyes. I had a strange feeling that I have seen those eyes before but where I didn't remember.
"Where are those eyes?" I asked them and suddenly realized what I said.
"What?" They asked in unison.
I assumed one of them was a doctor and the other person who looked about my age; I had no idea who he was.
Pull yourself together girl!
"Mmmm I meant who are you and where am I?" I tried to sound like I was fine but that somehow it came out as if I had lost my memory.
Both of them looked pale, their eyes wide at me suddenly.
I laughed at them, poor lads!
"No, I don't mean it like that...I remember being hit by a car and all that...I mean who are you." I said pointing towards the boy.
He looked relieved "I am the one who saved your dear life mi amour." he said smiling at me.
"What?" I was not expecting this sudden informality.
The doctor left the room giving me some instructions that I might feel little pain when the effect of medicines will be gone.
I suddenly remembered that I didn't reach school. My parents don't know where I am. Sandi and Alex would be worried sick.
"Where is my bag?" I asked a little impatiently to the boy who was still laughing at I don't know what.
I was annoyed with his informal behavior. He didn't tell me who he was yet. But right now I have other important things to worry about.
"It's in the car. You will be discharged in a couple of hours then I will drop you at your home." He replied.
I asked him who he was again. I was sure he was not the one who hit me because he didn't have those striking eyes.
"I am a beloved friend of the person who accidentally hit you because of your mere fault and also I am honored to be the one who brought you here and saved your life." He stated it like a universal fact.
Oh, Thank you was all I said.
Then I remembered that I need to at least inform my parents. I asked him if he could bring me my bag and he did.
I called mom and told her everything excluding the part that I was running in the middle of the road and including that I am perfectly fine but she asked me for the address. She appeared in the hospital room after half an hour when I was busy chatting with Ravs.
He told me his name and I told him mine. He asked me if he could call me bells and told me to call him Ravs, so those were our new nicknames for each other.
Mom hugged the life of me and glared towards innocent Ravs who had that 'I did not do anything' expression. I laughed at him.
"Mom he was not the one who hit me, he brought me here and you know saved my dear life." I quoted him. He gave me a cute smile in return. I was liking him already. He was just like Alex, sweet, and brotherly.
Mom apologized to him and started checking me for any injuries. Ravs told her what the doctor said and she was relaxed a bit.
"I don't know if I would have survived if something had happened to you," she said sitting beside me, her eyes glossing with tears.
'Mommy I am fine. I will not leave you ever, I promise." I said hugging her. She hugged me back, kissing my forehead.
The doctor came in and told us that I could leave if I wanted because my reports were clear. I and mom came back home with Ravs. Mom called him in to have tea and snacks as thank you. He also missed his school day for me.
I wondered whom those eyes belonged to. I didn't ask Ravs nor did he tell me himself. Only once he told me his name was Xavier Millers. Also, that he asked him to take me to the hospital because he had some quizzes. I don't know why but I felt good knowing that he at least cared.
Yeah yeah I know that was so cheesy but I have my reasons. According to the rumors about him, he didn't seem like the person to care about anything.
I have never actually seen him but heard things like the rude, arrogant, murderer, and a very common line 'he crushes anyone or anything which comes in his way' about him. I know it's strange how I have never seen him but firstly because he is a senior and secondly I live in my own little world.
Also, it's only been a couple of months since I joined Crestview high school. I am not a freshman because we were transferred here from our previous high school. I am in the junior year so I guessed he must be in the final year.
After Raven left mom helped me to my room. I was tired and sleepy so I let sleep consume me. I wake up to someone shaking me and calling my name.
I already guessed who it was.
"Sandi stop it hurts."I exaggerated even though I was not feeling any pain.
"Sorry sorry did I hurt you? Bells are you feeling any pain? Should I call the doctor or aunt Olivia?" Sandi said panicking. She is always like this.
"No idiot I am fine don't call mom." I slapped her hand and in return got a punch and a sharp glare from her.
"Ouch what was that for?" I asked, rubbing my arm and pouting.
"I was so worried about you. You didn't show up at school and didn't even text me to tell me that you were fine. When I came home mom told me that you had an accident and I just panicked and came running here. I called Alex and he is coming too." She said all this without taking a breath.
I sighed.
"Sandi calm down. I am fine, it was my fault. I was late and kind of running in the middle of the road."
She was about to ask I know what but the door burst open and dad came in along with Alex, mom, Sandi's mom, and dad. All of them pounced on me with the same questions and I replied with those similar answers I was giving to Sandi.
But in all of that chaos, the vision of those eyes kept haunting me. I didn't see his face clearly nor do I remember it.
I didn't get what was suddenly wrong with me. Why can't I just shake it off? That was an entirely new world for me. I had some minor crushes and a few dates in the past but never had any serious relationship.
But it was something else.
Something I had never felt before.
I should call them Devil's eyes, the way they captivated me.
Yeah that suits him well.
It was going to be a long night.
