"I guess this is time to wrap this up."
Blake then walked over to the front of the brownish demon and started drawing the runes to cast a darkness bullet.
Blake aimed the darkness bullet spell at the brownish demon's head and made sure that he got close enough so that the darkness bullet would be shot at point blank range and had the strength to pierce through the brownish demon's skull which was apparently able to hold out against the darkness tendrils.
But Blake was startled when he just started drawing the runes the moment the runes that he drew began forming in the air in front of the brownish demon's face, the latter began acting up.
The limp and the lifeless looking brownish demon a second ago suddenly started gaining strength out of nowhere and started violently moving his incapacitated body around.
But still, even with the brownish demon exerting all of its remaining strength, Blake didn't worry much about missing his point blank shot as just as its name suggests, it's a point blank range shot.
And added to the fact that the darkness spikes and darkness binding spell did their job wonderfully in keeping the brownish demon stuck in place despite its crazed movements, there's a very little chance Blake would miss.
But Blake was even more shocked to find out that the brownish demon had actually gone lifeless even before his spell had manifested itself.
The moment the runes that he drew flashed and disappeared, Blake saw the pure terror in the brownish demon's eyes as it stared at both Blake's runes and Blake's face.
And from the intense stare, the brownish demon's eyes widened immensely for a split second before its whole body suddenly went lifeless as if the string that had kept its whole body standing had been cut off.
Blake saw all these drastic changes in the split second before the darkness bullet spell manifested.
And when the spell had actually manifested itself, Blake's eyes widened in shock as he saw that the point blank range darkness bullet had actually failed to pierce through the brownish demon's skull.
'I guess it made sense that it was tough enough to repel many darkness tendrils at once.'
But that didn't mean the darkness bullet didn't deal any significant damage either.
Seeing the absence of skin and the very visible cracks on the exposed skull of the brownish demon, Blake was confident that the skull would break after a second or at most a third darkness bullet shot directly at it.
The brownish demon should have still been alive since his brain was basically still unscathed at this point.
But when Blake saw the dark orb rising from the brownish body, Blake knew that the brownish demon had really been dead with its brain still intact.
Hundreds of holes in his body weren't able to do it, but a deep rooted terror that had spread from his eyes to cover his mind was apparently able to do much more damage and kill the resilient brownish demon.
And despite thinking that it was unlikely to be the case, linking the fact that he saw the brownish demon's eyes that were filled with pure terror and fear, the extensive and violent movements that the brownish demon did when it saw him drawing the demonic runes, and also the moment that the brownish demon's string to be cut off when it saw the runes flashed and disappeared,
Blake was able to link those facts together and figured out that the brownish demon had experienced extreme mental stress before it suddenly died just like that.
Usually, just like how his mind began doubting his actions when he heard the scream of extreme fear from the brownish demon, he would also think hard about his actions when he saw how the brownish demon acted before it died from shock and fear.
But just as how there's an unknown force that shoved those thoughts away from his mind, the same thing happened to him now.
When he saw the desperate struggle of the brownish demon and how it had died when its whole being was filled with fear, Blake's mind was only filled with amazement and wonder as it was his first time ever seeing something die from sheer shock.
Rather than thinking of how he just used his hands to kill something using sheer shock, his mind only wonders how something was even possible.
It's just as if he had found a new in-game mechanic that he hadn't known existed before in an RPG-type game.
After Blake saw the soul orb had really left the demon's body, Blake moved his fingers and drew a couple of simple runes.
The runes then flashed before the hundreds of darkness tendrils that filled the brownish demon's whole body crumbling down as the darkness element that made them began scattering back into the environment.
And just like how he usually hunted demonic beasts in the forest, Blake just ignored the corpse of the brownish demon on the ground as he focused his eyes on the soul that floated above the corpse.
The reason that he intently chased after the brownish demon even if it had a very annoying skill that was a pain in the backside to deal with was because of the soul orb.
Blake was dying to know the taste of a soul from a relatively strong humanoid demon.
He wondered whether different types of demons had different tasting souls and which would actually taste better if that was actually the case.
Blake then took a glance towards his gorilla friend that had majorly helped him in defeating the group of five humanoid demons as without him then Blake would have had a very hard time doing it.
However, just as Blake knew a little about his friend's eating habits, the huge gorilla also knew Blake's and knew Blake's love for eating souls, much more than he did.
So Robus just gave Blake a simple nod, which was more than enough for Blake to give Robus an extensive smile of gratification before snatching the soul out of the air and putting it into his mouth.
Blake had a certain level of expectation when he put the soul into his mouth and swallowed it.
But Blake certainly didn't expect that just when the soul touched his mouth, Blake already felt something different compared to the other souls that he had eaten so far.
