Capítulo 1: The Awakening

Sun Han's life was a monotonous cycle of waking up, attending school, and enduring the taunts and beatings from his classmates. His daily routine began in the cramped apartment he shared with his parents. The paint on the walls was peeling, and the scent of mildew lingered in the air. He woke up each morning on a threadbare mattress, the springs poking into his back, reminding him of his family's financial struggles.

The alarm clock on his bedside table buzzed at 6:00 AM, signaling the start of another grueling day. Sun Han groggily reached out and slapped the clock, silencing the noise. He stretched and rubbed the sleep from his eyes, dreading the hours ahead. He quickly dressed in his worn school uniform, the fabric thin from countless washes. Breakfast was a simple affair—a bowl of plain congee that his mother had prepared. There was no conversation at the table; his parents were already preparing for their long shifts at the factory.

Sun Han left the apartment and made his way to school. The streets of the city were crowded with people, all rushing to their destinations. The gray buildings loomed over him, casting long shadows that seemed to mirror his mood. He trudged along the familiar path, his head down to avoid making eye contact with anyone.

At school, Sun Han's day was filled with lectures and assignments, but his mind was often elsewhere. He was a good student, diligent and hardworking, but his achievements went unnoticed by his peers. They saw him as an easy target, someone they could torment to alleviate their own frustrations.

During the lunch break, he would often sit alone in the corner of the cafeteria, trying to make himself as inconspicuous as possible. Today, however, he wasn't so lucky. A group of boys, led by Zhao Wei, the school bully, spotted him. Zhao Wei was tall and muscular, a stark contrast to Sun Han's slender frame. He approached Sun Han with a sneer on his face, flanked by his cronies.

"Hey, Sun Han, what are you eating?" Zhao Wei mocked, grabbing Sun Han's lunchbox and inspecting its contents. "Plain rice again? Pathetic."

Sun Han tried to ignore them, focusing on the food in front of him, but Zhao Wei wasn't satisfied. He knocked the lunchbox out of Sun Han's hands, spilling the rice onto the floor.

"Clean it up, loser," Zhao Wei ordered, pushing Sun Han off his chair.

Sun Han fell to the ground, scraping his palms on the rough tiles. The cafeteria erupted in laughter as he scrambled to pick up the scattered grains of rice. He felt his face flush with humiliation, tears stinging his eyes, but he refused to let them fall. He had learned long ago that crying only made things worse.

After school, Sun Han often stayed behind to avoid running into Zhao Wei and his gang. The empty classroom offered a brief respite from the torment. He buried himself in his studies, losing himself in textbooks and notes. It was his way of escaping the harsh reality of his life.

As evening approached, Sun Han finally packed up his things and headed home. The apartment was just as he had left it, quiet and cold. His parents were still at work, leaving him alone to prepare his own dinner. He ate quickly, the silence of the apartment pressing down on him. After finishing his homework, he lay down on his bed, staring at the ceiling, wishing for a way out of his miserable existence.

That night, as he drifted off to sleep, he had a strange dream. He found himself standing in an unfamiliar landscape, a desolate world where the sky was a murky gray and the ground was cracked and barren. In the distance, he saw towering structures that seemed to pulse with an eerie light. A voice echoed in his mind, clear and authoritative.

"Welcome, Sun Han, to the Doomsday Survival Game."

He awoke with a start, his heart pounding in his chest. The dream had felt so real, and the voice lingered in his mind. Shaking off the unsettling feeling, he tried to go back to sleep, but the dream had left him restless. Little did he know, his life was about to change in ways he could never have imagined.

The next morning, as he went about his routine, the memory of the dream nagged at him. School was the same as always, but something felt different. There was a strange tension in the air, as if something monumental was about to happen. During the lunch break, Sun Han once again found himself the target of Zhao Wei's bullying. This time, Zhao Wei shoved him against the lockers, sneering at his pathetic attempts to defend himself.

"You're worthless, Sun Han. You'll never be anything more than a punching bag," Zhao Wei taunted.

As Sun Han picked himself up off the floor, he felt a surge of anger and frustration. He clenched his fists, wishing he had the strength to fight back. Just then, a blinding light filled the room, and everything went white.

When Sun Han's vision cleared, he found himself in the desolate world from his dream. Around him were countless others, all looking just as bewildered as he felt. A holographic screen appeared in front of him, displaying his name, age, and a list of basic supplies.

"Welcome to the Doomsday Survival Game. Your objective is to survive and upgrade your shelter. Good luck," the voice announced.

Sun Han stared at the screen, his mind racing. The dream had been real. This was his chance to escape his miserable life, to prove to himself and everyone else that he was more than just a punching bag. Determined, he set off to build his shelter, unaware of the challenges and dangers that lay ahead.
