With that kiss, Aisling felt power flowing through her body. It was not magic but the pure satisfaction of having the trust of Rex. It was one thing for him to do everything to protect her and make her happy. It was another for him to treat her as someone who he could depend on. 

The kiss was not heated like their usual ones. However, there was a lingering sweetness that suffused them. It made them forget about the chaos surrounding them. 

When their lips parted, Abaddon looked at Aisling with surprise at the sudden, inexplicable gesture. It was not that he minded, but he was not sure if the venue was appropriate. Of course, regardless of where they were, he would not turn down Aisling's affectionate gestures.

"What was that for?" He asked. 

"That's a secret." Aisling smiled mischievously. "Remove the barrier."
