Capítulo 44: Chapter 44: Beast Weapons

Instinctively, Claudia got ready to defend herself from the fireballs quickly covering her body with lightning but just before the first fireball could even get to her, it turned to pixels and vanished along with the other ones.

"Huh?"

She was greatly bewildered and now that she was trying to think of an explanation for what just happened, the lightning sparks on her body slowly calmed down.

"What is going on?" She muttered with her gaze on the peacock which stumped its feet on the floor about five times before slowly lying down.

"And I thought you weren't as dumb as you look."

The snarky remark came from Arsha and now she was glaring at him.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Look at the peacock carefully, there are faint outlines of blue light around its body, that should have given you the answer you needed." He disclosed with his gaze on the peacock.

She turned back to the peacock at that moment and almost immediately she caught sight of what he was talking about as her eyes widened in realization.

"A hologram, it's a holographic projection." She uttered.

"Took you long enough, genius," Arsha remarked. "But even without seeing the light, do you think he would let something that big run around in here? You're unbelievably dumb."

That last part really stung hard but she was able to keep her composure and turn to him with a straight face.

"You know I don't understand you, just a few minutes ago you didn't want to talk to me and now you're making fun of me."

He didn't respond to that and just kept looking at the peacock pretending not to have heard her say anything.

"Of course, you're going to ignore me." She sighed before turning to Gravin with a glare. "I don't think it's a nice thing to prank your student, Sir. Gravin."

"Umm….as much as I would like to say that this was an intentional prank, it wasn't, I'm just using this projection to monitor the beast from here." He explained.

Getting that response from him, her expression slowly softened.

"I guess that makes sense, so where are you keeping it?" She inquired.

"You ask too many questions, Claudia, and besides, that's a secret." He smirked before he turned and began to make his way toward the left.

"Okay fine, I won't pry but I didn't expect its tail to grow back." She said quickly following him from behind.

"The thing regenerated its cerebellum and you didn't expect its tail to grow back." He chuckled.

"It really did that?" She muttered with a shocked expression on her face.

"Of course it did, I mean you're the one that fried it so you should have gotten that gist."

"Well, yeah." She muttered as she turned to the projection of the beast. "I was surprised when I saw it standing earlier but I thought you must have done something to fix that temporarily."

"Well I didn't do anything, this bird can heal itself and regenerate fast, sounds familiar huh."

"The healing part, yeah." She muttered just after turning her gaze to Arsha.

"Well, anyway, let's talk about why I called you guys here," Gravin uttered just as he stopped in front of the wall. "Please tell Arsha to get closer."

She was about to turn and call but she found herself almost barging into him as he was right behind her now.

"Geez, if you were already there then say something." She huffed before turning away from him.

Arsha let out a little sigh at that moment as he stared at her neck. Well, he couldn't see it because of her jacket and that was probably for the best.

'I'm glad she wasn't the one there when I got up yesterday.'

His attention was soon called away from Claudia as he heard the sound of something being pushed out.

Something was ascending from below, a huge glass case filled with all kinds of weapons, not just any weapons, both of the students could tell from where they were standing that those were special weapons.

The case was divided into five columns and each column held a particular type of weapon set.

The first column was filled with different kinds of swords, long swords, katana blades, and even rapiers.

The second column held heavier weapons; claymores, great axes, and maces.

The third column was assigned to various forms of polearms; spears, lances, lances, and halberds.

The fourth column was designated to short melee weapons for those who enjoyed close-range combat, there were various types of daggers, gauntlets, and although not meant strictly for melee, a couple of projectiles.

Finally, the last column was sort of random as there were just a bunch of random things there from accessories to boots and gloves.

"Open it, Luna."

"Affirmative." A feminine but monotone voice responded.

The glass cabinet slowly opened up at that moment and now that it was open, Gravin turned to the two.

"Everything here is an intermediary weapon, you're only allowed to grab one item at once and if you feel like you don't like it, you can drop it and pick another one, don't pick two items at once or Luna will get mad." He explained as he walked past them. "Anyway, I'm going to take a shower and get ready for work now, if you need an explanation for any of the items just ask Luna."

He made his way to the elevator that brought them down there and disappeared upstairs leaving just the both of them there.

Both of them already had their gaze on what they wanted and while Arsha was still observing, Claudia proceeded to pick what looked the nicest to her.

Obviously, it was a katana blade, it was slightly longer than the one she used but it had a red hilt and the blade seemed to have some kind of light green curve on it stretching all the way to the tip.

"So, Luna, what does this one do?" She inquired.

"That is a wind blade made from the crystal core of an intermediary-tier wind wolf, it will allow you to use intermediary-level wind attacks. Do you want me to run a quick weapon compatibility test?"

"Yeah, go ahead." She responded with a nod.

As soon as she agreed to that, she was scanned by a green light from above and once the scanning was done, the light turned.

"Here are the results of the test."

[ Compatibility: 75% ]

[ Confirmed stats increase ]

[ Speed: +10% ]

[ Strength: +2% ]

[ Agility: +12% ]

[ No passive skill present ]

[ Weapon effects will activate once mana is infused ]

"When you said run a test, I didn't expect to see this other stuff, how accurate is this?"

"The data provided is a hundred percent accurate."

"I see, well those physics boosts seem nice but my comparability with it is only seventy-five percent." She muttered with her gaze on the blade.

"Seventy percent to eighty-nine percent is a 'good' on the compatibility scale." Luna disclosed.

"And I'm guessing Ninety to ninety-nine is excellent with a hundred percent being perfect." She said before giving the sword a swing.

"You've guessed correctly. Although, there are very few cases of people being a hundred percent compatible with their weapons, excluding the data I have access to online, I only know one person with a hundred percent weapon compatibility."

"Yeah, I think I have an idea of who you're talking about," Claudia said before turning to the cabinet.

There were two more Katana blades in there that she wanted to give a try before deciding.

"Let's see."

She was about to pick one of the swords when Arsha suddenly popped up beside her.

"You know, you really are clueless." He muttered to her.

"Huh? What's that supposed to mean?" She retorted with an annoyed expression on her face.

"Answer this question for me, what do you think happens to someone caught with illegally made beast weapons?"

"Illegally made?" She gasped.

Her sense of reason quickly came rushing back to her at that moment and before she knew it she dropped the sword in her hand.
