Capítulo 31: New City

Creating a bigger and more eco-friendly city—a city that coexisted with nature—would be a challenging achievement.

However, Maxwell's brain worked as fast as light, and he had a wealth of knowledge stored within the New Box.

Apart from that, he had already learned architecture and construction during his long wait. A basic framework had already formed in his mind, even as he hovered over the small city he had created.

It was just that—a small city that could accommodate at most 10,000 people. He didn't build it for the people; he built it for himself and for the defenses it provided.

With a simple wave of his hand, Maxwell watched the massive and beautiful walls of the city turn to dust as a much grander and more beautiful structure replaced them.

"This is a huge cheat," Maxwell noted as he looked at his hands.

He had just created an entire city, and he was barely tired at all. The city spanned over a hundred thousand hectares of land.

It was big, even by modern standards of city size, and the new city was pleasant to the eye no matter how he looked at it.

It looked like a sci-fi elven city—technology so advanced, it could be called magic, intertwined with nature.

If such a city appeared on Earth, he could see the press going bonkers over it. All sorts of news and statements would be made about it.

People would rush from far and wide to visit and understand what others were talking about, but Maxwell didn't care much about that.

It was created like this because the plants on Drusia were far more beautiful than those on Earth. Not only that, but the city was built to comfortably contain over 500 million people.

It had multiple high-rise buildings, as well as structures that extended below the surface.

The plants would serve as a great means to recycle stagnant air within the city when it became populated, and they would also be a beautiful sight to see.

With the city done, Maxwell focused on its defenses. He had destroyed the former defenses, so he needed to replace them.

This part wasn't all that difficult since he already had a good set of defenses before; all he had to do was scale them up.

The planetary defenses were still running at max capacity, so he wasn't touching them yet. For the city, he erected a light barrier around it, designed to be activated only in times of danger.

Leaving it constantly active would be a waste of energy. Apart from that, he installed multiple battle drone launchers.

He also added some railgun cannons and what he called rail rifles—still a railgun, but with a vastly increased fire rate and appropriately reduced power.

In essence, one was a "pulverize your enemy" type of gun, while the other was a "follow you to the ends of the earth with an incredibly fast fire rate and almost unlimited ammunition" type.

With the defenses done, Maxwell focused on city management: drainage, waste management, sewers, road cleanliness, etc.

These were all parts of the city that were to be automated. He created a transport system run by a new semi-intelligent AI, including all-new traffic systems.
