The dawn came quite quickly, for some it doesn't come quick enough. Calls of pteranodons filled the morning sky from a distance, as if giving a cue to others to wake up. Bloodmaw slowly opened his eye, he looked around and was reminded where he was. Dreadtooth's camp was definitely different from their camp, probably because of the fact that it was larger. That and there was plenty of movements and sounds.
Bloodmaw lifted his head slowly, he was thinking about his son and about the fact he agreed to one of his sons being married. All this thinking must of worn him out, of course he has been through a lot in order to get his son back.
Swiftscale was asleep along with Ruby, Jr was already awake and the youngster had a serious expression on his face as he lays next to Ruby. He heard what his father had talked about with Dreadtooth, this probably caused him to think more than he should.
Helm and Ebony were clearly up, and the both of them were standing beside each other as they talked about something. It was hard to make sense of what they were saying.
So much has happened, and Bloodmaw's decision was being questioned. They hardly know anything about Dreadtooth, so could they really trust him?
Bloodmaw stood up, and as he stood did it gain the attention of everyone else. Those who were sleeping were waking up, for they knew it was time to leave.
"Everyone sleep well?", asked Bloodmaw as he watched everyone of his clan gather near him.
Swiftscale nodded as he looked at Jr with a kind smile.
Ebony gave a smile, "I guess we head back?"
Bloodmaw nodded as he turned to lead his small group out of Dreadtooth's camp. As they got close to walking out did Dreadtooth call after them.
"You leaving already?", asked Dreadtooth looking at Bloodmaw and those who follow him.
Dreadtooth was a different rex from those they have seen. The feathers he had were definitely a eye catcher, but the plumage went well with his dark brown hide.
"Yes, I have others I need to return too.", replied Bloodmaw respectfully.
Dreadtooth nodded giving a confident smirk, there was something off about his confidence. He had so much of it and it probably came from leading a large clan. "I see, well you all are free to come back. We are a alliance now."
Bloodmaw nodded, "Thank you for your kindness."
Dreadtooth smirked as he watched the small group leave, this would no doubt make the others feel uncomfortable.
Ruby felt a shiver go up her spine, she held Jr in her arms but she dared not to look back.
Swiftscale looked at Bloodmaw with concern.
Was this really the right call? To let one of his sons marry into a large clan like Dreadtooth?
Once the small group got further away did everyone begin to speak feeling like it was safe enough too.
"I don't know about Dreadtooth, how can we trust him?", asked Scarface looking at Bloodmaw.
Bloodmaw looked down, "I already agreed with this agreement."
Scarface looked down, "I know but there is something wrong with this."
Swiftscale looked at Scarface clearly agreeing with him.
Ruby looked at Jr who seemed distant, it was like he was trying to close every single word out.
Offspring being used as bargaining chips, yeah that was definitely wrong but it was about survival. Bloodmaw was doing it in order for one of his sons to have a safe life. A large clan like that won't easily fall to anything, and if one of his sons were apart of it then it meant he would be fine.
Ebony looked at Bloodmaw with a look of compassion, "Boss I want what is the best for you and your family. We all do."
Helm nodded agreeing with her.
Bloodmaw chuckled at her words, "I know."
Swiftscale looked at Bloodmaw as he said, "If you really think it is a good idea then we support it. Just know that we will have your back no matter what."
Bloodmaw looked at him with a smile, he nodded silently to him. "Let's just focus on getting back to the others."
With those words shared the group continues onward back to the camp that was eagerly awaiting their arrival.
Grim looked outward as the sun slowly began to rise, he snorted as he stood up and walked down to the others. Devastate having heard movement lifted his head and looked toward Grim curiously.
Belle was slowly waking up, feeling Devastate move made her feel uneasy. There was no danger but when he moved she can't help but feel like something was up.
Harmony looked at Lesion curiously before looking at Lockjaw who lifted his massive head and looked to the side.
Though, there was not that many blind around they still had to be careful for it was not only blind that were dangerous. Other survivors could be just as dangerous as blind beasts.
Grim narrowed his eyes as he noticed movement along the tree line, what he expected was to see Bloodmaw and the others. What he saw was not them but two individuals.
One was a rex with a brownish gray colored hide with red coloring over both of his eyes. The rex was definitely a brute due to his size. Right beside him was something completely different from a rex for it was a acrocanthosaurus.
Grim frowned toward them, "Who are you two?"
Grim stood in a battle ready stance, his gaze watching the both of them closely.
The acrocanthosaurus was some what smaller than most acrocanthosaurus, that and their hide was some what brown in color with a light beige underbelly. The markings on the acrocanthosaurus were striped with yellow with dark brown stripes underneath the yellow stripes.
"I'm Nina.", spoke the acrocanthosaurus who was named Nina. "This beside me is my mate, Adder." She said this as she looked at Adder who was glaring at Grim.
Grim blinked to what Nina had said, he looked at Harmony who was walking up curiously.
"It is a pleasure to meet you both are you alone?", asked Harmony trying to be the civil one within the group.
Nina looked at Harmony and she nodded, Nina stood a head taller than Harmony so it was clear that the two of them would get along. Adder was some what bigger than Nina, which gave hint to him protecting her.
"Don't mind Grim, I am sure our leader wouldn't mind you two joining us.", spoke Harmony with a kind smile. Her name Harmony surely did fit her well.
Grim didn't say anything as he turned away leaving the two of them to talk, Nina smiled at Harmony.
Brutes and females were very different from each other, and it would seem that Grim knew that all to well.
As Harmony talked with Nina, did Adder look around. There was always those that travel alone, only cause it was easier to travel with one or two.
Though it was easier doesn't mean that surviving was easy, by being by yourself the world shows how hard it could be.
Grim blinked hearing sounds, the sun came up higher and did they see Bloodmaw and the others. They had made it back with Jr, which was a good thing. Luck surely was on there side.
The valley was proving to be the very best place for them to find. It was providing everything for them.
Bloodmaw blinked taking notice of Nina and Adder, however Lesion went sprinting to his father and brother extremely relieved.
"DAD!?! BROTHER!?!", squealed Lesion with happy tears.
Bloodmaw looked at Lesion with a smile, he lifted his gaze to Harmony as she spoke. "This is Nina and Adder, I said that you wouldn't mind them joining us?"
Bloodmaw smirked, "We will be glad to have you both."
The clan of Bloodmaw had increased by two more individuals, things were definitely looking up for them.
Nina smiled as she looked at Adder, Adder blinked but he gave a brief smile. "Thank you."
Lesion looked at Jr with a happy grin but he noticed that Jr seemed withdrawn. "..?"
Bloodmaw looked at Grim as he spoke, "We are going to have to increase the camp size, care to help?"
Grim nodded as he walked away to do that, Bloodmaw walked after him. "You all can rest."
"Like hell!", laughed Helm following after Bloodmaw. Dingo was not to far behind, "Aye!?! I am ready to break a leg!"
Harmony looked at Lockjaw with a smile, while Nina looked around curiously at her new home.
Gambit stared at Nina, his eyes slowly looked away before looking back at her. He didn't know what it was but his eyes were drawn to her. Was it cause she was a acrocanthosaurus, or was it something else.
Devastate started at the two but blinked as Belle laughed softly with her left hand over her mouth, "I'm glad we got two new faces!"
Devastate groaned, "Means more damn talking."
Belle looked at him curiously, "What's wrong with talking?"
Devastate snorted with narrowed eyes, "..."
Belle smiled softly at him, "It is not all that bad! I rather we talk then be quiet!"
Devastate looked away making a sound of disgust, Belle didn't know it but he hated crowds. That and listening to couples talking about their feelings. The behemoth clearly was not a romantic individual, as shocking as that is.
Ruby smiled as she scooped up Lesion, which made the youngster squeak.
Swiftscale looked after Bloodmaw before looking at Jr, he had been quiet for sometime now. He probably should talk to him.
"Jr?", asked the baryonyx.
"Hm..?", replied the youngster who looked up at him.
"You okay?", asked a concerned Swiftscale.
Jr looked down as he nodded.
Swiftscale frowned, it was obvious to see that Jr felt hurt by his fathers words. He probably felt like his father didn't care about him, which was not true. Bloodmaw cared for his children, he wanted the best for them.
Jr would understand, Swiftscale hoped he would.
Being a leader was not easy, some can boast and say that it is when it is not.
Ebony watched Bloodmaw, Grim, Helm, and Dingo work in making the camp bigger. She wanted to help out but she thought against it. After all, Bloodmaw told them all to rest.
When was it the last time that Bloodmaw took a rest? Ebony couldn't help but worry about him.
"I like talking! Talking to you is my favorite thing!", happily smiled Belle.
Devastate looked to the side, the behemoth had a flushed face. "Be quiet!?!"
Belle of course kept on which made the behemoth even more flustered.
Ruby looked at Swiftscale as she smiled, "It will be okay!"
Swiftscale looked at her with a small smile, he looked at Jr before looking at Lesion who looked up at Ruby with a big grin. "I like hugs!?!"
Ruby giggled, "Good!"
The clan of Bloodmaw was relaxing and chatting like they always do, by conversing with each other do they make a strong bond. Bonds were everything in this harsh world, without it one could not survive long enough.
Bonds. Trust. Strength. Communication.
All these were needed to make a thriving clan.
But of course everyone was different, differences were sometimes more scarier than the constant threat of the blind beasts.
"Did you find her?", asked Goliath.
A giganotosaurus shook his head, "No sir, but we found one of our own. Dead..."
Goliath frowned the anger in his eyes made his appearance look rather powerful. "Keep searching. She is what WE need!"
The giganotosaurus nodded as he walked away, Goliath was standing with his clan who follow him. His clan wore bones, teeth, eyes, and everything else that was considered disgusting and vile.
He worshipped the Evil One, that was their deity. Their god.
Goliath would stop at nothing to show the world that his god was above anything and everything.
The Evil One was not a mere blind animal, it was said that the Evil One was the very first blind beast to awaken. He was old, and powerful. The Evil One was what this accursed world needed.
Goliath believes that the Evil One knows how to make the blind beasts not blind. He has so much power that he is driven into a great lust for blood, and will only show those that are worthy his teachings.
Was this true? That was hard to say.
Others may think that the Evil One was just a blind animal and that there was nothing special about him.
However there was something special about that teen carnotaurus, and Goliath was going to do whatever it takes to make her join him. Even if it means by force.
Things are sure picking up a bit huh? I hope you liked this chapter! :D
