Devastate has made a commitment to this raptor who lay beside him. It does not matter if he gets beaten down, he will remain by her and protect her. If that is the only right thing that he does, he will stand by it.
Scarface was left behind and dead because of him, he brought this change upon a once productive clan. Many have suffered all cause of his foolishness.
Devastate opened his eyes as tears continued to fall, he looked at the raptor who had her eyes closed. She had suffered because of him.
He lifted his massive cranium as he looked back toward Baldur and all those who follow him. No one has noticed him being close to this raptor. He lowered his head as he softly maneuvered the raptor onto his nose.
Compared to the behemoth, she weighed nothing. Devastate stood up and moved away from the spot as he took the injured raptor with him.
The clan Baldur was running was so vastly different from how it once was. There were so many different creatures working together to accomplish the same thing. Now it was all nothing but carnivores who show off their strength, intimidation, and brutality.
Crusher's law of no females was got rid of, now there were females everywhere within the clan. It won't be to much longer until there will be offspring running all over the place and attracting so many more problems.
Offspring attracted the blind like a beacon.
It is only a matter of time before shit hits the fan, this clan of intimidation can only do so much until a hoard of the blind come and ransack the place.
Devastate took care as he walked, all the while making sure that no one sees the raptor upon his nose. Everyone was to busy fooling around, females will do that.
The behemoth had a place all to himself, like all brutes they have their own space within the camp. Baldur had taken the spot inside of the waterfall, there was a massive cave within the walls of water.
Though, it was his own spot there were a lot of brutes in there. No doubt that they were making plans for the future. Why would he assume this?
He had heard talk of the clan increasing their territory, and taking over the wilderness. It was a brazen plan, but a crazy one. Chaos would surely follow once they put that plan of theirs into action.
Devastate carefully lowered the raptor down into his nest, it was large but the brute didn't feel like sleeping. He had to see to her injuries and make sure she doesn't die. This place of his was far from the others, a nest made underneath a large tree. The nest couldn't be seen unless you really try hard to find it.
The behemoth was usually in the camp so he felt confident that she will be fine. Of course he was going to stand by her and protect her no matter what comes their way.
His eyes blinked when the raptor began to move her head, she weakly looked up at him. Those sapphire eyes of hers still held that fire, she wanted to survive but she knew she didn't have the strength too.
When she reached out to him, it was out of pure desperation.
"W-where am I..?", she softly spoke.
Devastate couldn't help to lower his head so she didn't have to put so much energy into looking up. "You are in my nest, I will take care of you.", his voice was caring as his eyes softened when he looked at her.
The raptor looked at him in surprise, those blue eyes sparkled faintly as tears appeared. "...!", she smiled weakly as she closed her eyes. Her beaten down body shook, probably cause of how overwhelmingly thankful she was to him.
It was pitiful to see another creature look like this, he hated it. This opened his eyes to the reality that this change was not good.
"Are you hungry? Do you need anything?", he kindly asked her.
The raptor had a hard time trying to say her response as the tears fell. All that came out was murmurs.
Devastate gave a small smile, "It is okay. You rest and I'll bring you something later."
She nodded softly as she laid her head down, her eyes were closed.
Devastate lifted his massive head as he looked down toward the camp, he looked around before laying down near the nest. He would go get her things shortly in the cover of the night.
"Teach me to stomp on the bad guys!?!", squealed Lesion.
"No teach me!?!", squeaked Jr.
Swiftscale looked at both of them in silent shock.
Ebony couldn't help but watch the two be demanding with Swiftscale. "I'm glad they like you.", smiled Ebony.
Gambit looked at Scarface who had just woken up, "What did I miss?"
Gambit smirked, "You didn't miss much? But guess we found a clan to be apart of?"
Scarface still was very confused, "Am I seeing things or are there young rexes squealing at Swiftscale?"
Gambit looked at him and teased, "You're seeing things."
Scarface frowned at Gambit not finding it funny for he was serious.
Grim walked through the brush, he snorted loudly before speaking. "I don't see anymore of us.", the behemoth had a seriously deep voice. It was easy to bet that once he was angered he would shake the very core of his enemies.
Bloodmaw frowned not liking the news, "Did we really lose everyone?"
Ebony looked at Grim, "So, we move out?"
Grim nodded before slowly turning away, his black body was covered in easy to see scars. Scars that looked similar to the ones Scarface had.
"Wait...!", shouted Scarface when he noticed the scars.
The scars were on both of Grim's legs, they weren't hard to miss.
Ebony looked shocked at Scarface before cracking a smile, "Good to see he has enough strength to yell."
Grim looked at Scarface with a stone cold face, "What."
Gambit looked between the two curiously, Swiftscale looked at the scars and looked surprised having noticed them.
Bloodmaw tilted his massive cranium, his interest was definitely drawn.
"Where did you get them scars?", asked Scarface looking at Grim seriously.
Ebony looked at Scarface and she slowly frowned.
The air seemed a little tense, which was surprising.
Grim looked at Scarface, his eyes slowly looked at his side. "Got it from a brute.", his voice became extremely unkind.
Gambit closed his eyes before looking at Scarface, "I don't think this is..."
Bloodmaw spoke up, "Brute with red tattoos, looks nothing like a rex. Bigger...?"
Gambit looked at Bloodmaw in surprise. "..!"
Ebony sighed looking down, "He was the one who terrorized us. Had done so for a while. I recognized that scar right away but figured not to mention it."
Swiftscale looked at Lesion and Jr who went quiet, he lifted his gaze. "He turned a rex against us, and killed our leader..."
Bloodmaw frowned sharply, "I don't doubt that in the slightest. He tried taking over our clan but we outnumbered him."
Grim growled loudly, "We believe he was the one that destroyed our home! Those blind beasts were no accident."
"We don't know that?", spoke Ebony who quickly looked away once Grim glared at her.
"Either way it happened, we learn from our mistakes and move on.", spoke Bloodmaw who turned and began to walk. "We will make a new home together."
Scarface frowned hearing the news, apparently that rogue was a big problem and still was one. He was ruling a clan and there was no telling what he would do with it.
Gambit nodded to Bloodmaw, "I agree with him."
Scarface blinked looking at Gambit and he looked at Swiftscale who gave him a smile. In all honesty that was enough to make his decision. "I guess count us in."
Bloodmaw scoffed a laugh, "Like I said already, you are one of us. You don't need to tell me that."
Ebony smiled after Bloodmaw before she looked at Scarface, "Need help?"
Scarface was about to say something but Gambit intervened, "Yes, he does."
Swiftscale gave a laugh before going wide eyed as Lesion and Jr screamed at him, "TEACH US!?!"
Grim gave a 'Heh' as he walked away following after Bloodmaw.
Scarface frowned looking at Gambit who walked away with a smile. "..."
Ebony laughed as she walked over to help him up, "Lean against me if you need too."
Scarface looked at her with a smile as he slowly moved to stand up. "I'm sorry."
"Don't be.", smiled Ebony kindly as she waited patiently for him to stand.
It was sad to know that happened to them, but as expected the blind wasn't the only problem that some have. Others can be a bigger problem. One rogue can throw things so off balance that it causes so many to suffer. The pain from a memory still remains like physical scar on a person.
What sometimes hurt more was the betrayal of someone you trusted or loved. Devastate was someone he trusted. He still didn't know what he was doing now with a heartless beast leading them.
Ebony was near him just in case he needed support, while Bloodmaw accepted them within their clan.
Those that he didn't even know were there for him, he started to trust those that he didn't even know more. That said a lot, he hated for it to be that way.
"We will be walking far, if we happen to meet some new faces we need to be careful.", spoke Bloodmaw looking ahead.
Swiftscale blinked looking after the two youngsters who were still demanding him to teach them how to stomp on stuff.
"We will need to hunt before continuing on.", spoke Grim looking at Bloodmaw.
"I know. We need to save the bones, seeing we have new members.", smirked Bloodmaw briefly.
Grim nodded strongly in silence.
Ebony looked at Bloodmaw, "You need me to help with the hunt?"
Bloodmaw looked back at her, "If you want, seeing as we have a proper bodyguard for my two sons."
Swiftscale flushed fast to what was said, "You won't let me live that down huh?"
Ebony laughed giving a tough looking smile, "Hey, it means you did good!"
Scarface smiled looking over at Swiftscale, he was glad that he did that for the youngsters. Gambit looked down with a smile, "I still think he is trying to impress the lady."
Ebony stopped laughing with a surprised face, while Swiftscale swallowed audibly loud before speaking up loudly. "No! Don't listen to him!"
Lesion looked at Jr, the two looked confused.
Bloodmaw chuckled lightly as he began to walk, "She is easy to like I don't see why not."
Grim snorted, "Don't encourage them."
Ebony blinked fast before she shook her head, "You are such a joker boss!"
Swiftscale glared at Gambit who laughed in pure amusement.
The humor was light, which was a good feeling. Discovering themselves through conversations was a part of the adventure, it was delightful. At least they were getting along with one another.
Where they were going was definitely far, new experiences meant new dangers. The forest around them was thick with a hot yet muggy air. Blind herbivores close by moved away from them in pure terror. Grim snorted watching them cower and flee.
It never got old, the blind saw them as a immediate threat that or rival. While to them, they were blind and could not determine thoughts or feelings. Not knowing when the blind were to 'wake up' was another thing. It could happen in a day, a week, a month, it was unclear.
Bloodmaw stopped as he looked back, "We will rest here for the night. We will hunt to ready ourselves for the long journey ahead."
By the time they stopped, it was later in the day close to dusk. Scarface laid himself down once he heard what Bloodmaw said. Grim walked to the side, Ebony looked after him as she began to follow him.
"Be back shortly.", she smiled walking after him.
Swiftscale looked at the youngsters who were talking to their father, they were so energetic and lively but he always seemed drawn to Lesion's missing arm.
Gambit looked to the side as he walked over noticing herbs, he looked through them with his sharp eyes.
"May I ask how Lesion lost his arm?", Swiftscale was polite when he asked Bloodmaw.
Bloodmaw looked at Swiftscale, there was a good amount of silence before he spoke.
