Capítulo 57: Collision
Baldur squeezed Belle tightly, his red eyes burning with his revenge. To him, Devastate was a traitor. The brute helped him overcome a clan, and he thanked him by attacking him. This raptor he held in his claws was the very being who turned Devastate against him.
Of course he didn't care much for Devastate, but he despised traitors just as much as the weak.
Belle made a sound of pain, her eyes of blue closed as tears began to fall. She was not going to lie about how she felt, she was scared. He could easily kill her right now.
How could someone be so cruel and heartless, to where all they only cared about was hurting others?
Hurting others like it was some kind of sick game.
Devastate had spoken about Baldur, and Belle was undetermined if she should hate him or not. This world from what she had seen always had a way at hardening the most innocent of people
It was understandable really, after all every single thing was living to see another day.
Sawtooth looked out from where he was, he was also mindful of where he should step next. The peak was still on the warpath, it made the ground shake constantly as more lava flowed from its gaping maw.
There was a heightened chance that this volcano may erupt again. They were always unpredictable like that.
Baldur looked at Sawtooth curiously, he narrowed his eyes slowly as he said. "You see anything?"
Sawtooth replied, "No, but I will take Scarecrow down with me that way we can spot them."
Baldur smirked, "Go."
Sawtooth nodded as he walked down from the peak, the heat was laying upon him like a early morning fog. This was due to the steam that the volcano gave off.
It was almost like fog, but it wasn't. Anymore hotter and no one can withstand the heat.
Razer and Juggernaut looked to be uneasy, the heat around them was suffocating. To both of them, it was crazy just standing near the top of a restless volcano. Fiend seemed to be focused on the lava, his eyes soon moved to look at Baldur. "Is this really worth it to kill one person?"
Baldur looked at him with a cruel smile, "Of course, a perfect end to a no good traitor."
Belle looked at him as she heard his words, she knew exactly who he was talking about. She shivered actually feeling scared for Devastate. Not only that but it was her fault, she allowed herself to get captured.
And now she was being used as bait.
Belle slowly looked at Baldur, she soon looked behind herself seeing the bubbling lava pit behind her. The fact that Baldur was so close to the mouth of the volcano scared her.
One mistake and he could fall in.
Was he that unaware of the danger? Or did he just ignore it?
Belle squirmed lightly which made Baldur smirk, he looked at her fully with a wicked grin. "How does it feel to be used?"
Belle whimpered, she looked at him dead in the eyes. "You won't get away with this."
For a brief moment she thought of Devastate, and that was what gave her strength.
Baldur smirked as he brought her close to his face, his eyes held the same ferocity as the lava behind him. "Oh I won't? You are so naive. You don't know anything girl."
Belle shivered as she felt him squeeze her more, his claws slowly digging into her sides. The pain she felt made her whimper, as she closed her eyes. "Nng!?!"
Baldur chuckled as he said, "Once I get rid of Devastate, I am going to toss you into the lava and watch you die."
Belle looked at him with wide eyes. She knew full well that he meant his words, he wouldn't even hesitate.
Baldur smirked as he looked to the side, "I can't wait for them to arrive."
Night had fully fallen, the black sky full of stars couldn't be seen due to the dark clouds of ashes and smoke which came from the volcano. The damages around the volcano was great, and its destruction seemed to continue.
Nothing could stop it, and every living thing knew that.
Bloodmaw frowned taking notice of completely scorched bodies of animals who died from the volcanoes fury. The number of bodies seemed to increase the closer they got.
"Be careful guys. Baldur isn't the only thing that can hurt us.", spoke Bloodmaw as he walked.
Gambit frowned taking notice of the body count, just to be burned alive was something he didn't like to think about.
Scarface looked around with wide eyes, the so many forests that once surrounded the volcano were gone. All that was in its place was fire, and burned down trees.
Cries of the blind were a clear indication of how scared they were. Even they knew they were about to die.
"God, I hope Belle is okay.", sincerely spoke Scarface becoming more worried for her safety.
Devastate looked back at him once he heard Scarface speak, he looked ahead feeling even more worried.
What was happening to her now? Knowing Baldur it was not anything good.
Bloodmaw blinked and he stopped, he looked back at everyone else. As they stood still did they hear voices.
Lockjaw looked at Bloodmaw silently, before speaking. "I can buy you sometime."
Bloodmaw looked at him in surprise, he looked to where the voices were.
There was silence before Bloodmaw nodded at him, "Just be careful, last thing I want to do is tell Harmony I let her husband die."
Lockjaw gave a faint laugh before walking in a different direction, his size was covered completely. He made a sound a good distance away, and Bloodmaw watched as two individuals began walking in that direction.
Waiting patiently did they all move in unison, and skillfully moved past the two who were obviously on watch.
Sawtooth and Scarecrow were following the sound unaware that they were being fooled.
For once the volcano was working with them than against them, but that could quickly change at any given time.
Going up the volcano, there was a loud creak and the sound of harden lava breaking. The heat was becoming quickly worse the closer they got to the peak. Bloodmaw however stopped looking back in the direction Lockjaw was.
"Bloodmaw?", asked Adder.
Bloodmaw looked at him with a smile, "I am going to go back and give him a hand. I trust you guys to get her out of there."
Devastate gave a curt nod before he quickly turned wasting no time.
Adder frowned before saying, "See you soon."
Bloodmaw nodded with a confident smile, "I am not dying today."
Scarface smiled as he followed after Adder while Gambit hesitantly followed after the others.
Bloodmaw watched them go before walking away back to Lockjaw.
Devastate slowly came to a stop, he hid behind heated rocks as he looked out from behind it carefully. He took notice of Baldur right away, and Belle was within his claws.
He glared sharply before blinking in surprise, he literally felt the ground shake throughout his body. The volcano once again began to start up.
Razer looked up in surprise as he felt the strength behind the volcano, the lava in the mouth began to rise. It was getting ready to blow up again, and with it flying rocks and lava.
Juggernaut looked at Razer before looking at Baldur, "I think we should move away from here!"
Baldur smirked not at all fazed, the bubbling lava seemed to increase in color due to its aggression. The color was a bright red tone which enveloped Baldur fully in its color. "It's just a little hiccup!"
Razer frowned clearly feeling unsafe, "This is crazy!?! How can we do anything on a bloody volcano! Killing him won't matter if we all die here!"
Wraith looked at the volcano with narrowed eyes, her instincts slowly agreeing with Razer. "I wanna live thanks!"
Baldur frowned, "Stand your ground! He is almost here!?!"
Belle whimpered loudly and she blinked as Devastate came out, "Baldur!"
Just hearing his voice made her feel so much better, she winced as Baldur held her up for Devastate to see. "How pathetic you came here to save a raptor! I thought you had more sense than that!"
Devastate glared at Baldur's cold smile. "You obviously don't know me."
Baldur smirked as he squeezed Belle making her whimper loudly. Just hearing her whimper brought a grin to his face. Devastate glared harder, as he snarled loudly. "Stop hurting her!?!"
The volcano took on a snarl of its own, lava began to seep through the tiniest of cracks. Razer looked down as he felt incredible heat, he immediately moved away from that spot. "Forget this!"
In a split second, Razer was grabbed by a mouth which completely caught him off guard. Adder had came up and grabbed him the first chance he took.
Baldur looked over in surprise and his eyes glared sharply in his anger. He threw Belle to the side, he figured he didn't need her anymore.
Belle screamed as she fell the lava was directly behind her but her eyes went wide as she was grabbed, Gambit had dived moving her away from the lava that would of claimed her life.
Gambit rolled on the ground with Belle, he had saved her from a horrible fate.
Juggernaut looked over at Razer fast before another wave went through the volcano. The sounds it was making made simple roars of the blind seem like nothing. Razer broke free of Adder's grip, as blood poured from his neck.
This was a definite showdown upon one of nature's most dangerous weapons.
Devastate watched as Baldur approached him, he smiled in such a cruel way. With chaos going on around them, it was either fight or flee.
The most acceptable option was to flee but Baldur wouldn't let that happen.
Wraith had already ran down away from the peak, her instincts went high into overdrive. She didn't want to die on some crazy revenge mission, it was even more evident that Baldur didn't care about anything else.
Not even his own safety.
All that he was after was killing a brute who betrayed him. Juggernaut however was the only one who remained, though Razer was showing signs of fleeing.
In the end Razer ran away the moment he felt a searing hot wave of steam hit him directly in the face. Fiend was not to far behind.
Was this cowardice or was this thinking things through? That was hard to determine, though to Baldur it was cowardice. He glared after them clearly outraged by them.
Devastate stood firm while watching his surroundings, Diablo's Maw was clearly showing why it earned such a name. The rushing of lava, the sighing of steam.
It was like watching hell opening up before their very eyes.
"Gambit! Take Belle out of here!", commanded Devastate who stood his ground.
Baldur smirked only then to turn fast smacking Adder clear in the face. Adder collapsed to the floor after the hit, Baldur smirked clearly pleased before he blinked and glared as a powerful pair of jaws grab hold of the side of Baldur's face.
Gambit moved as he held onto Belle, he was mindful of the dangers all around him as he escorted her out. Belle looked behind herself as she saw Devastate and Baldur share blows to each other.
Teeth against flesh with the sounds of heavy chomping.
Adder slowly stood up and moved away the moment he saw the ground under his left foot break. This was not a good place to fight, with the volcano collapsing around them.
Adder shifted away and blinked once he saw Juggernaut move away from the intensity of the volcano. It was getting ready to erupt again, and once it does it will surely kill them all.
Devastate blinked as Baldur grabbed hold of his face with both of his powerful claws. The pain shot through him when the back of his neck was taken into unforgiving jaws.
Baldur had deep wounds upon his neck and face, while Devastate was covered in long claw wounds upon the both sides of his neck and large bite wounds cover his face and neck.
Devastate tried to escape Baldur's jaws, and he was failing. However, he felt Baldur's weight greatly increase, this made his eyes go wide. Even Baldur took notice as he loosened his grip on Devastate.
Devastate glared moving his massive head up into a uppercut that hit Baldur's chin. The impact was a loud thud.
This gave Devastate enough time to get away, while Baldur tries to balance himself. Though he was struggling with that, he turned to look at his side with wide eyes.
The reason for his change of weight was cause of Scarface who jumped onto his side and was heavily attacking his back.
Baldur roared loudly in his rage, the ground below him gave way. Even Baldur knew this as his red eyes went wide.
Scarface taking notice of the ground breaking and quickly moved off in time. Baldur's eyes took close focus on everything around him.
His feet made a horrifying sound of flesh sizzling, it took him then to realize what was happening. "NOOOO!?!"
